Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Ahoj! Hexenaltar was founded in mid 2021 as solo project, but later that year it became a full-time band.

At the very begining I wanted to play something near to blackended speed/thrash, but when I was recording those songs they became more black/thrash/death in final. I think it’s much better for final result. Years of playing death metal have changed my style and taste for good, so Hexenaltar became more heavy sounding than I was expecting at first.


Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

Well it was kinda complex process. Instruments were recorded in Sound of Records with Haldor Grunberg, we were also trying to record vocals there, but I was sick, so they had to be re-recorded.

So I went to Polifon Studio to record those vocals with Michał Kirmuć. He had oldschool condenser microphone and I was quite happy with results. At the end our good friend Filip Żywiec Weyher recorded intro for us and our drummer Johnny componed outro.
Everything was mixed by Michał Grabowski, he works as live sound technician for Vader, so I trusted him with this process.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

Oh to be honest I don’t remember that well, I think it was about 500cds and 200 vinyls and just a few copies of cassettes. Of course there was a bit of merch like t-shirts and pins and we want to make patches, but hell... it’s quite a long process again. We want them to look just perfect and we are waiting for our friend who will make design, but now he has a broken arm so we will have to wait, a bit more.


Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

I wrote most of lyrics, but for two songs my friend Beton helped me – drummer of Abominated.
But to be honest it’s a lot easier for me to sing lyrics that I wrote. They are mostly about medieval horror. Witches, evil priests, possession and burning altars haha. They don’t touch serious topics like religion, society or politics. Music sounds like 80s slasher movie, so in my opinion lyrics have to fit the music.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

I made sketch for logo with pencil and I asked my friend if he can make it more professional, and he did! His name is Skadvaldur, talented artist from Iceland, he also did the first artwork for our demo – Tormented Possession and EP Bestial Damnation. Current artwork was done by Juanjo Castellano, he is a real maniac, I am glad that we found him. And website or social media... Yea, without them you are nothing nowadays. You just have to be on Instagram and Facebook, but we are not planning to have www site like hexenaltar.com.


Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

We choose Godz ov War from Poland, because I know Greg, the CEO of Godz ov War and yea, he treats us just right in my opinion and we are still a young band, so we are really happy that our release was realased in multiple formats. this is very important, because it’s so good feeling to hold vinyl in your hands. It makes you appreciated. So yes, I can recommend this label.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

Of course original thrash metal godfathers of the genre like Kreator, Sodom, Slayer, Sarcofago, Kat.

I am not a big fan of modern metal music or modern bands, of course I know it’s not open-minded attitude, but that’s just my taste, I tried to change it, but I’ve failed.


Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

Yes, I’ve sent e-mail to some labels, but what to say. We weren’t interested in some labels and some labels weren’t interested in us. So we decided to stay with GoW, there is no need to make changes when current deal just works good.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

I think that we have played about 25 gigs and they were all club concerts for now. We would love to play some open-air concerts, but probably we are still too small band to get offers for playing such events. But I hope that future will bring some open-air shows for Hexenaltar!

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

For sure we would like to record more stuff. Last months I was focused on Abominated’s 2nd album and getting new job, but for sure I will spend some time to write new music for next release.

And playing some open air concerts will be good achivement. Maybe Black Silesia

Jsem obyčejný člověk, který chodí do práce, má rodinu, děti. Říkají o mě, že jsem milý a vtipný, že bývám příjemný společník. Mám rád dobré jídlo, pivo a hlavně muziku. Dodnes, skoro po čtyřiceti letech mi připadá, že žiju ve dvou dimenzích. V jedné, kterou po mě chce běžná společnost a ve které dělám všechno, abych přežil a potom ta druhá, ve které se stávám démonem, který poslouchá starý death a thrash metal. 

Zavírám se do sklepa, v reproduktorech mi právě hraje nové album chilských RIPPER a já se zase jednou vracím po časové ose zpět. Tamní scénu mám moc rád, poslední roky je doslova studnicí skvělých kapel. Tahle smečka vás roztrhá na kusy. Je divoká, nespoutaná, syrová a zůstává po ní hluboká krvavá stopa. Je velmi příjemné zanechat za sebou starosti všedního dne a vymlátit si hlavu u ostrých riffů, surových melodií, jedovatého vokálu a zabijáckých bicích. Nové album splňuje všechny moje požadavky pro pořádný, poctivý tanec na našich vlastních hrobech. Brácho, tohle je reálný masakr v márnici!


Zatímco jsou mezi metalovými pozéry čím dál tím slavnější kapely, které sází spíše na image, tak mezitím RIPPER napíšou dobrou skladbu, která se mi zadře pod kůži i do podvědomí. Janě, že mám taky rád starou SEPULTURU, SLAYER, KREATOR, PESTILENCE, SADUS, MORBID SAINT, DEMOLITON HAMMER a taky kurva SODOM, protože ti mě k thrash metalu kdysi přivedli a slyším je v každé kapele. Chilané, na rozdíl od mnoha jiných, ale přesně pochopili, o čem oba tyhle prašivé styly jsou. Dokáží být rychlí, živočišní, jsou jako šelmy, co se právě vydaly na lov, ale nezapomínají ani na atmosféru, na plesnivé nálady, tolik známé z čerstvě exhumovaných hrobů. Celý život se pohybuji převážně v undergroundu a jako starý pes, který hlídá vstup do podsvětí několik dekád, dávám "Towards Rebirth" ochrannou známku vysoké kvality. Neznám nic lepšího, než utéct v pátek dřív z práce, přehodit svoji mysl do té lepší, prokleté dimenze, otevřít si pivo a zapomenout na podivný svět kolem. Sejdeme se v mosh-pitu, říkají mi mí vlastní démoni a já nemohu jinak, než jen kývat souhlasně hlavou. Za povedené zde považuji opravdu vše. Ostrý, syrový a špinavý zvuk (recorded, mixed and mastered by Pablo Clares at DM6 Studio). O tom, že je skvělý i motiv na obalu svědčí to, že jsem si jej vytiskl a pověsil na zeď. Paolo Girardi odvedl opět skvělou práci. Ostatně jako vždy, mám pro práci tohoto umělce velkou slabost. Vraťme se ale k hudbě samotné. Pokaždé, když zapnu play, tam mám chuť vytáhnout ze skříně starou ošoupanou džínovou vestu. Kdysi nás takhle chodily davy a dnes bych se asi s kazeťákem toulal po periferii našeho města sám. Jiný ale už nebudu a je to tak dobře. Death metalová brutalita smíchaná s ostrou thrash metalovou rychlostí! Album, které vás roztrhá na kusy!

I’m an ordinary guy who goes to work, has a family, and kids. People say I’m kind and funny, and that I’m good company. I love good food, beer, and especially music. To this day, after almost forty years, it feels like I’m living in two dimensions. One is the one that mainstream society expects of me, where I do everything I can just to survive, and the other is where I become a demon who listens to old death and thrash metal.

I lock myself in the basement; the new album by the Chilean band RIPPER is playing through my speakers, and once again I’m traveling back in time. I really love that scene in recent years, it’s been a veritable treasure trove of great bands. This pack will tear you to pieces. They’re wild, unbridled, raw, and they leave a deep, bloody trail in their wake. It’s so satisfying to leave the worries of everyday life behind and let loose to sharp riffs, raw melodies, venomous vocals, and killer drums. The new album checks all my boxes for a proper, no-holds-barred dance on our own graves. Bro, this is a real massacre in the morgue!


While there are bands among metal posers that are becoming more and more famous ones that rely more on image RIPPER, meanwhile, write a great song that gets under my skin and into my subconscious. Jana, I also love the old SEPULTURA, SLAYER, KREATOR, PESTILENCE, SADUS, MORBID SAINT, DEMOLITION HAMMER, and, damn it, SODOM too, because they’re the ones who got me into thrash metal back in the day, and I hear them in every band. The Chileans, unlike many others, have perfectly grasped what both of these gritty styles are all about. They can be fast and feral like beasts just setting out on the hunt but they don’t forget the atmosphere, those musty moods so familiar from freshly exhumed graves. I’ve spent my whole life mostly in the underground, and as an old dog who’s been guarding the entrance to the underworld for several decades, I give “Towards Rebirth” my seal of approval for high quality. I know of nothing better than leaving work early on Friday, shifting my mind into that better, cursed dimension, opening a beer, and forgetting about the strange world around me. “Let's meet in the mosh pit,” my own demons tell me, and I can't help but nod in agreement. I consider absolutely everything here to be a success. A sharp, raw, and dirty sound (recorded, mixed, and mastered by Pablo Clares at DM6 Studio). The fact that I printed out the cover art and hung it on my wall is proof that the design is great, too. Paolo Girardi has once again done a fantastic job. As always, I have a soft spot for this artist’s work. But let’s get back to the music itself. Every time I hit play, I feel like pulling an old, worn-out denim vest out of the closet. Back in the day, crowds of us used to hang out like that, and today I’d probably be wandering the outskirts of our city alone with my cassette player. But I won’t be any different, and that’s just fine. Death metal brutality mixed with blistering thrash metal speed! An album that will tear you to pieces!

Kdysi dávno, někdy na konci osmdesátých let, jsem viděl krásně morbidní béčkový horor z floridských močálů. Oživlé zombie trávily spoustu času s aligátory, se kterými lovily lidská těla. Film měl vtipné triky, poměrně nudný příběh, ale stejně jsme jej s kamarády hltali jako něco nového, skvělého. Tehdy jsem díky tomu objevil spoustu floridských death a thrash metalových nahrávek a stal se ze mě jejich velký fanoušek.

Na Floridě nenajdete ale jenom močály, aligátory a asi největší kumulaci sériových vrahů na světě. Pochází odtud i kapela FATAL, na kterou jsem nedávno víceméně náhodou narazil při svých nekonečných toulkách podsvětím. Pustil jsem si ukázky a zjistil jsem, že pánové hrají přesně tu třaskavou, ryzí, opravdovou, upřímnou a naprosto autentickou esenci starého, prašivého thrash a death metalu, která koluje i v mých žilách. Hororový film z VHS kazety jsem již nenašel, ani si nepamatuji jeho jméno, ale tohle album si budu rvát do hlavy ještě hodně dlouho. 


Dnešní doba je plná umělých metalových kapel, které hrají přesně tak, jak si jejich producenti přejí. Potom je zde také hodně takových, kteří se snaží jenom kopírovat hudbu, která zde již byla. A pak jsou zde FATAL. Ohlodaní na kost, nekompromisní, s nepopiratelnou porcí talentu a spoustou nápadů, které vás přikovají na zeď. Tohle je metal až na dřeň, jdoucí až na samou podstatu samotné smrti. Žádné zbytečnosti, žádná faleš, jenom útok přímo na solar plexus. Sedím tak zase dlouhé hodiny u svého přehrávače, neustále dokola si pouštím nové album "Return from Exile" a přemýšlím, jestli mi zbylo ještě nějaké pivo. Připadám si, jako bych se vrátil po časové ose zpět, do doby svého mládí, kdy jsme se s partou toulali nekonečné hodiny toulali po periferii našeho města s kazeťákem na ramenou a poslouchali kapely jako SOLSTICE, POSSESSED, MALEVOLENT CREATION, MASTER, DEMOLITION HAMMER, OBITUARY. Ano, FATAL by to této dobré společnosti zapadli, jako by tam patřili odnepaměti. Škoda jen, že zde již mí kamarádi nejsou. Třeba si ale poslechneme novou nahrávku těchto maniaků v záhrobí, až za nimi jednou přijdou. Zatím mi dovolte, abych vám tohle skvělé album doporučil. Je skvělé po všech stránkách. Má povedený zvuk, stylový motiv na obalu, ale hlavně řeže tou správnou stranou nože. Když jsem před mnoha lety začal psát o muzice, měl jsem na mysli právě podporu podobných smeček. A teď mě prosím nechte, abych otočil volume úplně doprava a nechal kapelu, aby mě znovu rozsekala na kousky. Připíjím na zdraví a mlátím pěstí do stolu. Kurva brácho, tohle je fakt hodně dobrý! Prašivý, divoký, surový thrash death metal až za hrob! Album, která vás rozseká na kusy a zahrabe pod zem! Hniloba, válka, špína, smrt!

A long time ago, sometime in the late ’80s, I saw a beautifully morbid B-movie horror film set in the Florida swamps. The reanimated zombies spent a lot of time with alligators, hunting human bodies alongside them. The movie had funny special effects and a pretty boring story, but my friends and I still devoured it as something new and amazing. Thanks to that, I discovered a lot of Florida death and thrash metal records back then and became a huge fan of them.

But Florida isn’t just about swamps, alligators, and what’s probably the world’s largest concentration of serial killers. It’s also home to the band FATAL, which I recently stumbled upon more or less by accident during my endless wanderings through the underworld. I gave their samples a listen and realized that these guys play exactly that explosive, pure, genuine, sincere, and utterly authentic essence of old, grungy thrash and death metal that also runs through my veins. I haven’t been able to find that horror movie on VHS again I don’t even remember its name but I’ll be blasting this album in my head for a long time to come. 

These days are full of artificial metal bands that play exactly the way their producers want them to. Then there are also plenty of bands that just try to copy music that’s already been done. And then there’s FATAL. Stripped down to the bone, uncompromising, with an undeniable dose of talent and a ton of ideas that will pin you to the wall. This is metal to the core, cutting right to the very essence of death itself. No frills, no pretense—just a direct punch to the solar plexus. So here I am again, sitting for hours on end by my stereo, playing their new album "Return from Exile" on repeat, wondering if I have any beer left. I feel as if I’ve traveled back in time to my youth, when my friends and I would roam the outskirts of our city for endless hours with a cassette player slung over our shoulders, listening to bands like SOLSTICE, POSSESSED, MALEVOLENT CREATION, MASTER, DEMOLITION HAMMER, and OBITUARY. Yes, FATAL would fit right in with this fine company, as if they’d belonged there since time immemorial. It’s just a shame my friends aren’t here anymore. Maybe we’ll get to hear a new recording from these maniacs from beyond the grave once they’re gone. For now, let me recommend this fantastic album to you. It’s great in every way. It has a great sound, a stylish cover design, but most importantly, it cuts right through to the heart of the matter. When I started writing about music many years ago, it was precisely to support bands like this. And now, please let me turn the volume all the way up and let the band tear me to pieces all over again. I raise a toast and pound my fist on the table. Damn, bro, this is really, really good! Rough, wild, raw thrash death metal straight from beyond the grave! An album that’ll tear you to pieces and bury you six feet under! Decay, war, filth, death!

Odkládám pivo na víko od rakve. Už jsem tu zase zavřený před současným divným světem, kterému přestávám postupně rozumět. Jsem starý pes, který zvedá hlavu už jen v případě, že ho nějaká kapela doopravdy zaujme. Poslechnu si ukázky a utíkám dolů, do katakomb, po schodech, po kterých stéká hnis a špína. Sednu si do snad stoletého křesla, zapnu play na svém přehrávači a nechám se unášet ostrými melodiemi, divokými riffy, temně podmanivou atmosférou.

Kdysi dávno, na přelomu osmdesátých a devadesátých let minulého století, jsem patřil do jedné party, která chodila v otrhaných džínách po periferii průmyslového města a hledala kout, kde by si mohla naplno pustit právě podobné nahrávky, jako jsou ty od MORTAL TERROR. I letos pánové na sto procent ctí staré dobré pořádky. A dělají to s elegancí, zkušenostmi a nadšením starých mistrů v oboru. Kurva brácho, ze všech kamarádů jsem tu zbyl sám a stále poslouchám stejnou muziku. Je škoda že tu nejste, i když tak trošku ano. A to pokaždé, když odkládám lahev od piva na víko od rakve a zapínám znovu a znovu play.

 

Novinku musíte poslouchat hodně nahlas, jedná se o starý německý thrash metal, zahraný s noblesou, nadhledem. Uvěřitelně, opravdově, ryze a naprosto autenticky. Psal jsem již o předchozím albu "Bite of the Underdog" a mám s kapelou i skvělý rozhovor (odkazy najdete dole pod dnešním článkem). Již kdysi dávno (a letošní deska mi to jenom potvrzuje) jsem zjistil a stále si to myslím, že jsme jedné krve. Koluje nám v žilách od doby, kdy jsme poprvé uslyšeli opravdovou metalovou muziku. Tihle veteráni vám nakopou zadky. Samozřejmě, celou dobu se zde bavíme o nahrubo nasekaném thrash metalu, opředeném spoustou syrových melodií. Pokud jste fanoušci třeba takových SODOM, DESTUCTION, KREATOR, PROTECTOR, TANKARD, je pro vás novinka "Filthy Old Thrash" povinnost. Vše je ohlodané až na kost. Novinka vás smete z povrchu zemského, strhne do hlubiny, spálí, rozdrásá vás zevnitř, abyste potom vstali z popela, silnější než kdy dřív. Vím moc dobře, že pokud by mí kamarádi ještě žili, setkal bych se s nimi v mosh-pitu. Já vím, svět se dnes točí úplně jinak, vše je umělejší, podivnější a moje slova mohou znít jen jako výkřiky do tmy, ale z nového alba cítím pověstnou pradávnou sílu opravdového metalu, takovou tu krvavě černou jiskru, drive, chcete-li. MORTAL TERROR do mě zkrátka a dobře zasekli svůj dráp i letos a už mě nepustili. Nezbývá mi nic jiného, než vám nové album doporučit a označit jej vysokou známkou kvality. Kurva brácho, je to zase tam. Odkládám pivo na víko od rakve. Už jsem tu zase zavřený před současným divným světem, kterému přestávám postupně rozumět. A cítím se skvěle! Opravdový, ryzí, nahrubo nasekaný thrash metal, u kterého odpadává maso od kostí! Tohle album se vám dostane do hlavy i do podvědomí!

I set my beer down on the coffin lid. Here I am again, shut away from this strange modern world that I’m gradually losing track of. I’m an old dog who only lifts his head when a band really catches my attention. I listen to some samples and run downstairs, into the catacombs, down the stairs covered in pus and grime. I sit down in an armchair that’s probably a hundred years old, press play on my player, and let myself be carried away by sharp melodies, wild riffs, and a darkly captivating atmosphere.

A long time ago, at the turn of the ’80s and ’90s, I was part of a crew that would wander the outskirts of an industrial city in ragged jeans, looking for a spot where we could crank up recordings just like those by MORTAL TERROR. This year, too, these guys are staying true to the good old ways one hundred percent. And they do it with the elegance, experience, and enthusiasm of old masters in the field. Damn, bro, of all my friends, I’m the only one left here, and I’m still listening to the same music. It’s a shame you’re not here though in a way, you kind of are. And that’s every time I set my beer bottle down on the coffin lid and hit play again and again.

You have to listen to this new release really loud it’s old-school German thrash metal, played with class and a sense of perspective. Believably, genuinely, purely, and completely authentically. I’ve already written about their previous album, "Bite of the Underdog", and I also have a great interview with the band (you’ll find the links below today’s article). A long time ago (and this year’s album only confirms it), I realized and I still believe that we’re cut from the same cloth. It’s been coursing through our veins ever since we first heard real metal music. These veterans are going to kick your asses. Of course, we’re talking here about brutally choppy thrash metal, interwoven with plenty of raw melodies. If you’re a fan of bands like SODOM, DESTRUCTION, KREATOR, PROTECTOR, or TANKARD, their new album “Filthy Old Thrash” is a must listen. Everything is stripped down to the bone. This new album will sweep you off the face of the earth, drag you into the depths, burn you, and tear you apart from the inside, so that you can then rise from the ashes, stronger than ever before. I know very well that if my friends were still alive, I’d be meeting them in the mosh pit. I know, the world is a completely different place today everything is more artificial, stranger and my words may sound like nothing more than cries into the darkness, but from this new album I sense the legendary, ancient power of true metal that blood-black spark, that drive, if you will. MORTAL TERROR have, quite simply, sunk their claws into me again this year and haven’t let go. I have no choice but to recommend this new album to you and give it a high mark for quality. Damn, bro, it’s back. I’m setting my beer down on the coffin lid. Here I am again, shut away from this strange modern world that I’m gradually losing the ability to understand. And I feel great! Real, pure, brutally chopped up thrash metal that makes the flesh fall off your bones! This album will get into your head and your subconscious!

Odložím pivo na víko od rakve a spokojeně se usmívám. Nejsem sám. Společnost mi dělají moji vlastní démoni a občas přijde na návštěvu i Satan. Scházíme se pravidelně dole v podzemí, několik pater pod povrchem, pod starým znesvěceným kostelem. Uctíváme staré pořádky, posloucháme hudbu z konce osmdesátých a počátku devadesátých let. Popíjíme pivo a pořádáme nekonečné diskuze o životě a smrti. Dnes jsem vám, moji milí ďábelští přátelé, přinesl jednu novinku. Jedná se o polské tmáře HEXENALTAR, o kapelu, která propadla peklu.

Kapela působí v podzemí od roku 2021 a má na svém kontě ještě dvě EP. Členové působili ve skupinách jako ABOMINATED, INCINERATOR. Máme tu co do činění s prašivým, surovým a temným black thrash death metalem, který vás navěky prokleje, přikove na zeď a nakonec spálí na popel. Doporučuji poslouchat hodně nahlas a nejlépe v nějaké staré studené kobce. 


Jsem už starý pes, který zvedá hlavu opravdu už jenom v případech, kdy mě nějaká kapela zaujme. Když se mi jejich hudba dostane do podvědomí, pod kůži i do žil. U HEXENALTAR se mi tohle všechno stalo již při prvním poslechu. Seděli jsme uprostřed noci a kývali se spokojeně do rytmu. Řvali jsme do tmy. Věrni odkazu starých předků, stejně jako tahle smečka, která uctívá jako my kapely typu SODOM, MERCILESS, SARCÓFAGO, HELLHAMMER, APOCALYPTIC RAIDS, POWER FROM HELL, MIDNIGHT, jsme byli spokojení a nadšení. Tenhle temný rituál se opravdu povedl! Poláci jej provádějí s nadhledem, s upřímností, opravdovostí, ryzostí a naprostou autenticitou. Přidávají spoustu svých nápadů, invence, sekají ostře, útočí na přímo, trefují se do srdce i na solar plexus. Svět je při poslechu velmi temné místo k životu. Zavřeni ve svých ulitách, zahleděni sami do sebe, pochodujeme s hlavami skloněnými na smrt. Někdy je velmi příjemné roztrhnout řetězy a naplno se oddat záhrobním orgiím. Při poslechu "Descending Curse" se otvírají staré hroby a prokletí lezou z děr. Nahoře nad námi, v kostele plném lží a přetvářky, kněz opět přednáší o lásce a odpuštění. Jakmile skončí, začne znovu žít v hříchu. Nové album je pro mě velmi zdařilým výletem po časové ose zpět, do doby, kdy jsem byl mladý a sedával jsem s kamarády nekonečné hodiny u kazetového přehrávače a poslouchali jsme zásadní kapely žánru. Poláci by mezi naše oblíbence tenkrát určitě patřili a patří mezi ně i dnes, když je svět nasměřován podivným směrem sebedestrukce. Tohle album smrdí zkaženou krví a sírou! Black, thrash, death metal, který vás navěky prokleje!

I set my beer down on the coffin lid and smile contentedly. I’m not alone. My own demons keep me company, and sometimes even Satan stops by. We meet regularly down in the underground, several floors below the surface, beneath an old, desecrated church. We honor the old ways, listening to music from the late ’80s and early ’90s. We sip beer and engage in endless discussions about life and death. Today, my dear devilish friends, I’ve brought you some news. It’s about the Polish dark metal band HEXENALTAR, a band that has fallen into hell.

The band has been active in the underground since 2021 and has two EPs to their credit. The members have previously played in bands such as ABOMINATED and INCINERATOR. What we have here is filthy, raw, and dark black thrash death metal that will curse you for eternity, chain you to the wall, and ultimately burn you to ashes. I recommend listening to this at full volume, preferably in some old, cold dungeon.


I’m an old dog now, and I really only perk up when a band catches my attention when their music seeps into my subconscious, under my skin, and into my veins. With HEXENALTAR, all of that happened to me the very first time I listened to them. We sat there in the middle of the night, swaying contentedly to the beat. We roared into the darkness. True to the legacy of our ancestors just like this pack, which, like us, reveres bands such as SODOM, MERCILESS, SARCÓFAGO, HELLHAMMER, APOCALYPTIC RAIDS, POWER FROM HELL, and MIDNIGHT we were satisfied and thrilled. This dark ritual was a real success! The Poles perform it with poise, sincerity, authenticity, purity, and absolute authenticity. They add plenty of their own ideas and creativity; they strike sharply, attack head-on, and hit you right in the heart and the solar plexus. While listening, the world feels like a very dark place to live. Locked in our shells, lost in our own thoughts, we march with our heads bowed toward death. Sometimes it’s very satisfying to break free from the chains and fully surrender to otherworldly orgies. As you listen to “Descending Curse”, old graves open up and curses crawl out of the holes. High above us, in a church full of lies and hypocrisy, the priest once again preaches about love and forgiveness. As soon as he finishes, he returns to a life of sin. For me, this new album is a very successful journey back in time, to a time when I was young and would sit with my friends for endless hours by the cassette player, listening to the genre’s seminal bands. Poláci would certainly have been among our favorites back then, and they remain so today, as the world is heading in a strange direction toward self-destruction. This album reeks of rotten blood and sulfur! Black, thrash, and death metal that will curse you for eternity!
