Poprvé jsem death metalovou Knihu mrtvých otevřel v devadesátých letech a dodnes si v ní rád a často čtu. Vlastně každý den. Jsem fanouškem stylu, sběratelem i podporovatelem. Ohledávám staré mrtvoly a dělám si další zápisky. Izraelští black death metalisté DEATHSIEGE si mě ihned naklonili na svoji stranu. Z jejich nové demonahrávky, která mi přišla na recenzi, totiž smrdí síra na několik kilometrů daleko. Syrová, nihilistická hudba, nahraná snad někde v opuštěných katakombách. 

Skvělý je zvuk, celková undergroundová nálada i obal, který vás ihned uvede do nečisté hry. Stejně jako procházejí mrtvá těla postupnými stádii rozkladu, tak se mi rozpadá i demonahrávka v ruce. Jako bych proséval mezi prsty black a death metal z devadesátých let minulého století. 

Zápis o DEATHSIEGE lze přidat hned vedle kapely jako MORBID ANGEL, ANGELCORPSE, DIABOLIC, DEICIDE, DEGIAL, ASCENDED DEAD, CONCRETE WINDS, IMPRECATION a další smečky, v jejíž hudbě lze vystopovat pravé nefalšované peklo. Muzika je zde zahrána přesně tím způsobem, že budete jen sedět, překvapeni z tlaku a energie. Zahaleni do temnoty vám bude běhat mráz po zádech. Kapela hraje bez kompromisů, jejich songy jsou jasně a přesně zacíleny přímo do srdce. Stará izraelská pohřebiště vydala další svědectví o bolesti, temnotě a nekonečném zlu. Přiznávám bez mučení, že na mě má demonahrávka až uhrančivý účinek. Má krev je při poslechu zkažená a mám pocit, že každou chvíli přejdu na druhou stranu. Do země nemrtvých, kde budeme spolu s kapelou tančit na svých vlastních hrobech. "Unworthy Adversary" se opravdu povedlo a já jsem zvědavý, co DEATHSIEGE předvedou příště. Zatím, po prvním setkání, se cítím být prokletý a zavržený, zničený. Hrob byl exhumován s elegancí starých mistrů a já hledím do budoucna s nadějí. Inferno!

Na oltáři bezbožnosti bylo obětováno další tělo. Z temných zákoutí podzemí přišli na tento svět další obrácení věrozvěstové, aby šířili spalující oheň, smrt a death metal. DEATHSIEGE. Izraelští vyslanci samotného pekla. Temné, zákeřné komando, ničící obrovskou silou všechno živé v okruhu několika kilometrů. Pocta starým dobrým MORBID ANGEL, ANGELCORPSE, DIABOLIC, DEICIDE, DEGIAL, ASCENDED DEAD, CONCRETE WINDS, IMPRECATION. Neskutečně zabijácký zvuk, riffy plné šílenství a hlas otevírající víka od rakví. Takhle zní pravé, nefalšované peklo. DEATHSIEGE se pohybují v jasně daných mantinelech stylu, nepřesahují je, ale odvádějí neskutečně poctivé a uvěřitelné řemeslo. Pokud máte rádi death metalovou temnotu devadesátých let, s přihlédnutím ke zvráceným satanským rituálům, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. "Unworthy Adversary" vás smete, zničí, vyvrhne a přikove navěky do plesnivých kobek vypáleného kostela. Mysleli jste si, že už jste zažili všechno zlo světa? Tak to jste na omylu. Pusťte si novinku těchto šílených izraelských bezvěrců a poznáte pravou nefalšovanou death metalovou nenávist. Nenašel jsem na albu jediné slabé místo a nahrávka se pro mě stala jednou z obrovských překvapení letošního roku. Vítejte v pekle! Smrt už na vás čeká!

There was sacrificed another body on the altar of impiety. From the dark corners of underground came another reversal missionaries to this world. I haven´t found any weak spot on this album and the record has become one of the biggest surprises of this year. Welcome to the Hell! The death is waiting for you!

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.? 

Deathsiege was founded by A.M. in 2019, shortly thereafter joined by J.S. on vocals and additional guitars. Our music is probably described as Death Metal with some sensibilities borrowed from its obvious sibling genres Black and Thrash Metal. 

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering? 

Unworthy Adversary is 100% self recorded and self produced. All instruments and vocals were recorded by us at our rehearsal space affectionately named The Pit, mixed and mastered by A.M. 

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)? 

Unworthy Adversary was recently released on cassette by Dawnbreed Records and is also available digitally through our Bandcamp page. 

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with? 

Most lyrics were penned by J.S. and deal with murder, violence and war as inescapable elements of our regrettable existence as humans in this poisonous world. 

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important? 

Deathsiege’s logo was created by A.M. and the cover art for Unworthy Adversary by brilliant local artist Jessica Astral Odyssey. The year is 2020 and so some presence on social media seems unavoidable if we wish to have our music heard by anyone. The underground remains underground and having a Facebook page for your band does not mean you’ve signed with Warner Music.

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you? 

Dawnbreed Records from Netherlands fucking rules and we hope to continue the great collaboration started on this cassette. 

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration? 

We idolise nothing and no one. We honor and take inspiration from many Old School American Death Metal acts, South American Metal is also a big influence on us, as well as indirect influence by all forefathers of extreme metal – Sodom, Mercyful Fate, Bathory, etc. 

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response? 

We did send the demo to a few labels we appreciate, responses were pretty much positive. 

Eventually, Dawnbreed records made this release possible physically and we are happy with this collaboration. 

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best? 

Deathsiege is currently a duo and we hope to expand our lineup and take this music live during 2021. 

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band? 

We are currently writing our debut full-length, to be recorded hopefully by the end of 2020. Playing live which will require additional members to the band is also in mind of course. Basically, Creating new music, extreme metal in particular, is our constant desire and so we are committed to it, Deathsiege is the spawn of this desire.

Co nastane po konci světa nevím, ale rozhodně tuším, kdo se bude smát. Satan má stejně jako smrt mnoho podob. Pokud si jej představíme jako strůjce zla, dovedu si představit, jak dnes na svůj trůn usedá s nadějí. Ve větší nenávist, v rozpad lidských hodnot. Těžko se o tom píše, jedná se spíše o filozofickou debatu, ale je pravdou, že existují kapely, které dokáží navodit hodně podobné nálady. Američtí INSATANITY vydávají své letošní nové album po dlouhých 24 letech. Mezitím sice přišli s nějakými splitky, kompilacemi a EP, ale to nic nemění na tom, že je to hodně dlouhá doba.

Je to pravé, nefalšované peklo v ryzím slova smyslu. Mnohý dnešní posluchač bude zmatený a často i vyděšený, protože takovou smršť rozhodně nečekal. Black metal spolu s deathem ve své základní živočišné a nenávistné podobě. Příjemná změna oproti současným umělým produktům, to vám povím. 

Onen svět je zapálen ve stylu starých dobrých DEICIDE, DIABOLIC, IMPRECATION, CRUCIFIER, INFESTER, BLASPHERIAN, MORBID ANGEL, VITAL REMAINS. Žádné kompromisy a taky žádné zbytečnosti. Tohle je peklo, sem nepatří nic jiného, než tma, chlad, zlo a špína. INSATANITY hrají tak, jak umějí nejlépe - rychle, šíleně, s devastujícím účinkem. Možná vám bude novinka zpočátku připadat příliš monotónní, ale není tomu tak. Stačí poslouchat chvilku déle, pečlivěji, dostat se pod první nános hniloby a budete odměněni krásným prokletím. Je to klasické inferno, u kterého praskají kosti tlakem. Nic víc, ale také nic méně. Na mě má "Hymns of the Gods Before" doslova očišťující účinek. Líbí se mi, že si jde kapela vlastní cestou, neohlíží se a já si tak mohu užít pestrou paletu totálního nihilismu. Někde hluboko v podzemí se probouzí bestie. Nebude to dlouho trvat a potkáte ji. Je obsažena v každém z nás, v našich nízkých pudech. INSATANITY to moc dobře ví. Black death metal, u kterého shoříte na popel! Amen!

Nad močálem zapomnění se povalují jak chuchvalce mlhy neprodyšné riffy nové desky amerických proklatců INSATANITY. Nálada alba je surová, drsná, mokvající jako znovu otevřená rána. Hniloba, špína a smrt! Jsem ukřižovaný hlavou dolů a jednotlivé motivy mi pronikají do těla jako ostré hroty rezavých hřebů.

Na novince "Hymns of the Gods Before" naleznete krutou a ošklivou hudbu, stylově podobnou té, kterou hrají smečky jako DEICIDE, DIABOLIC, IMPRECATION, CRUCIFIER, INFESTER, BLASPHERIAN, MORBID ANGEL, VITAL REMAINS. Je odkazem dávno otevřených hrobů, temnou a zlou výpovědí o záhrobních rituálech. Skvěle se povedl zvuk i obal, ale hlavně nápady, které nenechají nikoho na pochybách - peklo opravdu existuje! Představte si starý, opuštěný hřbitov. Tam vzadu, u krypty s podivnými symboly, je vchod na onen svět. Stačí jen vstoupit, k přijímacímu rituálu vám budou hrát INSATANITY. Kapela, která umí svojí hudbou navodit totálně zničující atmosféru, uhrane vás a rozbije na tisíc kousků. Zavrženi se budete plazit, naříkat bolestí a trápit se. Tohle je opravdový temný death metal, který snad ani není z našeho světa. Reálný obraz násilných činů, smrtící odkaz pradávných rituálů určených pro vyvolání Satana na zem. "Hymns of the Gods Before" je vynikající krvavou seancí! Inferno! Kult!

Above the marsh of oblivion are breathless riffs of the new album by American accursed INSATANITY like balls of mist. The mood of the album is raw, cruel and wet like a reopened wound. Rot, dirt and death! I am crucified head down and individual motifs penetrate my body like sharp spikes of rusty nails. 

The new album "Hymns of the Gods Before" has cruel and ugly music, in the style of music played by DEICIDE, DIABOLIC, IMPRECATION, CRUCIFIER, INFESTER, BLASPHERIAN, MORBID ANGEL, VITAL REMAINS. It is a reference to long opened graves, dark and evil testimony of sectarian rituals. What is also great is the cover and the sound, but also the ideas which will not let you in doubt – the hell is real! Imagine an old, abandoned graveyard. There, in the back, by the crypt with strange symbols is the entrance to the beyond world. You just have to enter, to the entering ritual will play the music of INSATANITY. This band knows how to make a totally devastating atmosphere with their music, it will curse and tore you in thousand pieces. You will crawl down, lament with pain and worry. This is the real death metal which cannot be from our world. A real picture of violent acts, a deadly reference to ancient rituals designed to invoke Satan to the earth. "Hymns of the Gods Before" is an excellent bloody session! Inferno! Cult!
