Myslím si, že už jsme hodně blízko. Ovládáni na dálku pochodujeme v zástupech. Lidští roboti nás brzy nahradí a možná i zabijí. Ty nejtemnější zákoutí myslí dávných spisovatelů sci-fi se brzy stanou krutou skutečností. Nejsem velký znalec japonského military animé GUNDAM, ale co se týká hudby SOULMASS, tak tu mám rád od jejich počátků. Kombinace doomu a death metalu dělala vždy dobře mé zkažené duši. Navíc bydlím v průmyslovém městě a v továrnách trávím celý svůj život.
Pamatujte na to, že stroje nikdy nespí. Vždy čekají, až je oživíte. S hudbou těchto floridských maniaků je to hodně podobné. Stačí pár prvních tónů a hned máte pocit, že k vám promlouvá odněkud z černých hlubin vesmíru. Vše je ohlodané na kost, chladné a bolestivé. Mrtvolné.
Tahle smečka nemá ve své diskografii žádnou slabou desku. Vše je vždy velmi propracované, kvalitní a neskutečně surové. Letos jsou SOULMASS více přímočařejší, jdou rovnou na věc a připadá mi, že ubylo trošku doom metalových pasáží. Kapela se lehce inspiruje takovými smečkami jako BOLT THROWER, ENTOMBED a samozřejmě doomovými klasiky. To ale není zase tolik důležité. Hlavní je celkový dojem, atmosféra. Opravdu si při poslechu připadám, že mě unesli vetřelci a budou na mě dělat pokusy. Jednotlivé riffy, motivy, se mi dostaly pod pod kůži. Muzika se stala mojí součástí a hlavou mi opět létaly divoké fantazie. Je to hodně návykový materiál, který se velmi dobře poslouchá. I po delší době je stále co objevovat. "Principality of Mechanical Violence" je také albem, které má velmi povedený obal. Ten perfektně sedne k nahrávce a jednotlivým nápadům. Je pod ním podepsán Samuel Nelson. Skvělá práce! Jako bych se ocitl na planetě, na které fouká jedovatý vítr. Všechno jsme dávno zničili. Mrtvé řeky, moře bez života, lesy s pahýly stromů. Nálada celé desky je pochmurná, chladná a odráží ty nejtemnější lidské myšlenky. Co budete jednou dělat, až se vzbouří váš vlastní robot? Vaše přesná kopie? Zabijete ho? Zabijete sebe? Otázek je velké množství a odpovědí málo. Nevíme, co nám přinese budoucnost. Ale když si dávám SOULMASS do uší a užívám si pestrou a košatou stavbu skladeb, i v černých odstínech zabarvené nálady, moc dobře vím, že letos se pánům povedl další z jejich skvělých opusů. Všechno sedí perfektně na svých místech a skladby obsahují velké množství tlaku a energie. Vesmírná doom death metalová odysea plná chladu a absolutní tmy! Symfonie ze vzdálených světů!

I think we're pretty close. Remote-controlled, we're marching in droves. The human robots will soon replace us and possibly kill us. The darkest recesses of the minds of ancient science fiction writers will soon become a harsh reality. I'm not a big connoisseur of the Japanese military anime GUNDAM, but as far as SOULMASS music goes, I've loved it since their early days. The combination of doom and death metal has always done my wicked soul good. Plus, I live in an industrial city and have spent my whole life in factories.
Remember, machines never sleep. They're always waiting for you to bring them back to life. It's much the same with the music of these Florida maniacs. Just the first few notes and you feel like it's speaking to you from somewhere in the black depths of space. It's all gnawed to the bone, cold and painful. Dead.
This pack doesn't have a weak record in their discography. Everything is always very sophisticated, high quality and incredibly raw. This year SOULMASS are more straightforward, they go straight to the point and it seems to me that there is a bit less doom metal passages. The band is slightly inspired by such packs as BOLT THROWER, ENTOMBED and of course doom classics. But that's not so important. The main thing is the overall impression, the atmosphere. I really feel like I've been kidnapped by aliens and will be experimented on. Individual riffs, motifs, got under my skin. The music became a part of me and my head was flying wild fantasies again. It's very addictive stuff that's very easy to listen to. Even after a long time there is still a lot to discover. "Principality of Mechanical Violence" is also an album that has a very hilarious cover. It fits perfectly with the record and the individual ideas. It's signed by Samuel Nelson. Well done! I feel like I'm on a planet with a poisonous wind. We destroyed everything a long time ago. Dead rivers, lifeless seas, forests with tree stumps. The mood of the whole album is gloomy, cold and reflects the darkest human thoughts. What will you do one day when your own robot rebels? Your exact replica? Will you kill it? Kill yourself? The questions are many and the answers are few. We don't know what the future holds. But as I put SOULMASS in my ears and enjoy the colourful and colourful song construction, even the black tinged moods, I know very well that this year the gentlemen have delivered another of their great opuses. Everything fits perfectly in place and the songs contain a great deal of pressure and energy. A cosmic doom death metal odyssey full of cold and absolute darkness! A symphony from distant worlds!
