Bál jsem se dýchat. Stál přede mnou a otíral nůž od krve. Právě jsme zažili starodávný obřad. V kostech jsem měl chlad a vítr žaloval v korunách stromů. Dívám se do tmy a čekám. Až ze mě vyprchá život a přejdu na druhou stranu. Jsem moc rád, že tentokrát mi dělají průvodce black metalisté RUNESPELL z Austrálie. Jsem převezen přes řeku Styx a ocitám se v Hádově říši. A stále poslouchám novou desku "Shores of Náströnd".
Jako bych byl ve starém středověkém městě a právě zažil pradávný rituál pro vyvolávání temných sil. Silné melodie, ostré riffy, zajímavé vokály. Když tohle všechno sečtete, dostanete album, které je v mnoha ohledech vynikající. Pokud jste fanoušci žánru, potom je pro vás doslova povinností. Cítím z něj totiž obrovskou sílu a černou energii.
Kapela je složena z velmi zkušených muzikantů, kteří moc dobře vědí, jak navodit tu správnou temnou atmosféru. Já opravdu při poslechu cítím chlad v kostech. Kývám se do rytmu, jsem mimo tento svět. Vznáším se na krvavých vlnách a mlátím pěstí do stolu. Bývám v black metalu hodně vybíravý, ale tentokrát nemohu jinak, než jenom chválit. Zvuk, obal, celkové provedení, vše je vynikající. Australané mají navíc svůj rukopis, krvavý otisk, takže je ihned poznáte mezi ostatními. Hudebně se pohybujeme ve stejných zkažených vodách jako třeba polští GRAVELAND. Skladby jsou vznešené, majestátní a mají v sobě spoustu zajímavých momentů. V některých momentech si opravdu připadám, jako bych měl horečku a děsivé představy. Když se řekne pagan black metal, tak většinou odvrátím svoji tvář na druhou stranu, ale tentokrát jsem velmi spokojený. RUNESPELL totiž umí navodit pestrou paletu černých nálad. Pochmurných a mrazivých. Je to jako se vydat na výlet zimní krajinou. Podél cesty leží zmrzlá těla mých předchůdců. Jsem moc rád, že se mi tohle album dostalo do ruky. Už teď vím, že se k němu budu rád a často vracet. Bál jsem se dýchat. Stál přede mnou a otíral nůž od krve. Právě jsme zažili starodávný obřad. It's like I'm in an old medieval city and I've just experienced an ancient ritual for summoning dark forces. Strong melodies, sharp riffs, interesting vocals. When you add it all up, you get an album that is excellent in many ways. If you're a fan of the genre, then this is literally a must for you. Because I can feel a huge power and black energy from it.
The band is composed of very experienced musicians who know very well how to create the right dark atmosphere. I really feel the chill in my bones when I listen to it. I sway to the beat, I'm out of this world. I'm floating on bloody waves and pounding my fist on the table. I used to be very picky about black metal, but this time I can't help but praise. The sound, the cover, the overall execution, everything is excellent. The Aussies also have their signature, bloody imprint, so you can immediately recognize them among the others. Musically, we are in the same corrupted waters as, for example, Polish GRAVELAND. The songs are sublime, majestic and have a lot of interesting moments in them. At some points I really feel like I'm having a fever and scary fantasies. I usually turn my face the other way when you say pagan black metal, but this time I am very satisfied. RUNESPELL can evoke a wide variety of black moods. Gloomy and chilling. It's like taking a trip through a winter landscape. The frozen bodies of my predecessors lie along the road.
