Říká se, že člověk si zvykne na všechno. Jenže on mě dokázal opět šokovat. Vstupuji do místnosti a cítím hrozný pach. Další mrtvé tělo, naaranžované v podivné póze. Říkají mu sochař smrti a jeho díla by mohla být vystavena v morbidní galerii. Tváře bez očí, přesto se dívají, šepot obětí, nářek a nekonečná bolest. Temnota lidské mysli, kusy masa, rozsekané na malé kousky. Červené skvrny napovídají, kudy byl veden řez. Utíkám pryč a zavírám se do svého pokoje. Potřebuji dávku nějakého velmi dobrého death metalu. Aby mě přenesl do starých katakomb, ve kterých už nikdo nikomu neubližuje.

ROTPIT je novou kapelou, za kterou stojí zkušení muzikanti. Jonny Pettersson - Guitars / Bass / Mix & Mastering, Ralf Hauber - Vocals / Lyrics & Concept, Henrik Posingis - Drums. Myslím, že nemusím nic dalšího dodávat. O kvalitu je postaráno po všech stránkách. To by ale v dnešní době nestačilo. Důležité jsou nápady, zajímavé momenty a celková atmosféra. Na novince "Let There Be Rot" se ocitnete na místech, kde se staly šílené vraždy. Budete se dívat na oběti a vnímat jejich bolest. Hraje se tu melodiemi opředený, shnilý a démonický death metal staré školy. 

Když jsem se s kapelou setkal poprvé, bylo to u jejich demonahrávky "Into the Rotpit" v roce 2021 (recenze je odkazována dole pod článkem). Byla pro mě takovou shnilou ochutnávkou a protože se mi velmi líbila, těšil jsem se i na dlouhohrající album. Letos bylo moje přání vyslyšeno a moje mysl rozdrásána do krve. Mám rád, když se hraje poctivě, od srdce, když můžu muzikantům jejich práci věřit. ROTPIT zvládají své smrtící řemeslo na výbornou. Co se týká zvuku, obalu, produkce, nemám absolutně žádných námitek. Podobná hudba koluje i v mých žilách. Dostávám ale i něco navíc. Řezající melodie, které se mi zadřely pod kůži. Stal jsem se na nějakou dobu obětí, visící za háky u stropu. Jako ve starých hororech, které jsou známy svojí syrovostí, působí kapela velmi uvěřitelně. Fanoušky třeba takových CARNAGE, DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED, FLESHCRAWL, ENTRAILS by určitě mohla zaujmout. Kývám se do rytmu jako starý hrobník a přemýšlím, kde jsem tohle tělo už viděl. Čerstvě vykopaný hrob a nová rakev zářící do tmy. V márnici se ještě svítí. Za chvilku to začne, jen co zasypu všechno hlínou. Mrtví, mučení a násilně zabití, se přišli pomstít. Mlhavým oparem zní nová deska "Let There Be Rot" a já najednou vím, že se sem budu rád a často vracet. Hraje se zde totiž pro všechny prokleté, pro tmáře i zombie. Surový, chladný death metal s morbidní příchutí zkažené krve!

They say you get used to everything. But he managed to shock me again. I enter the room and I smell a terrible odour. Another dead body, arranged in a strange pose. They call him the sculptor of death, and his works could be displayed in a morbid gallery. Faces without eyes, yet looking, the whispering of the victims, the wailing, and the endless pain. The darkness of the human mind, chunks of flesh cut into small pieces. Red stains suggest where the cut was made. I run away and close myself in my room. I need a dose of some very good death metal. To transport me to the old catacombs where no one hurts anyone anymore.

ROTPIT is a new band, backed by experienced musicians. Jonny Pettersson - Guitars / Bass / Mix & Mastering, Ralf Hauber - Vocals / Lyrics & Concept, Henrik Posingis - Drums. I don't think I need to add anything else. The quality is taken care of in all aspects. But that would not be enough nowadays. What is important are the ideas, interesting moments and the overall atmosphere. On the new release "Let There Be Rot" you will find yourself in the places where crazy murders happened. You will watch the victims and feel their pain. It's melody-drenched, rotten and demonic death metal of the old school.

When I first met the band, it was at their "Into the Rotpit" demo in 2021 (review linked at the bottom of the article). It was a bit of a rotten taster for me and as I really liked it, I was looking forward to the full-length album. This year my wish was granted, and my mind was torn to shreds. I like it when the playing is honest, from the heart, when I can trust the musicians to do their job. ROTPIT master their deadly craft to perfection. In terms of sound, cover art, production, I have absolutely no complaints. I have similar music running through my veins. But I'm also getting something extra. Cutting melodies that get under my skin. I became a victim for a time, hanging by hooks from the ceiling. Like the old horror movies that are known for their rawness, the band comes across as very believable. Fans of such bands as CARNAGE, DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED, FLESHCRAWL, ENTRAILS could definitely be interested. I sway to the beat like an old undertaker and wonder where I've seen this body before. A freshly dug grave and a new coffin glowing in the dark. The morgue is still lit. It's about to start as soon as I cover everything with dirt. The dead, tortured and violently killed, have come for revenge. A new album, "Let There Be Rot", plays through the misty haze, and suddenly I know I'll be happy to come back often. For it plays for all the damned, for the darkies and the zombies. Raw, cold death metal with a morbid taste of rotten blood!

Když jsem se před mnoha lety ztratil v podzemí, tak jsem netušil, že mi vůbec nebude chybět světlo. Jsem zvyklý žít ve stínu, vyhýbat se tupému davu. Celé dny drtím staré kosti a když se svojí prací skončím, tak navštěvuji opuštěné kobky. Nasávám atmosféru nekonečné smrti. Rakev s názvem ROTPIT jsem objevil díky muzikantům, kteří ve stejnojmenné smečce hrají. Jsou pro mě zárukou kvality. 

Jonny Pettersson (ASHCLOUD, GODS FORSAKEN, WOMBBATH, MASSACRE), Ralf Hauber (REVEL IN FLESH, HEADS FOR THE DEAD), Henrik Posingis (REVEL IN FLESH). Ano, jméno napsané rezavým písmem na náhrobku - ROTPIT. Obsahem nové demonahrávky "Into the Rotpit" je surový, prašivý death metal severského střihu. Nutno rovnou dodat, že velmi vysoké kvality.

Jedná se samozřejmě zatím jenom o malou, tří skladbovou ochutnávku syrového masa, ale i když jde o demo, tak má nahrávka dobrý zvuk, do devadesátých let laděný obal a spoustu dobrých nápadů. Stylově lze tvorbu ROTPIT přirovnat ke CARNAGE, DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED, FLESHCRAWL, ENTRAILS. Mocné nástupy, atmosféra opuštěných márnic, chorobný vokál. Již během několika prvních poslechů jsem ve společnosti téhle party hrozně rád. V rakvích se otáčejí mrtvoly, svěcená voda dosáhla bodu varu. Tělem mi prostupuje chlad, kosti mám zmrzlé a mám strach, aby se mi nezlomily tlakem. ROTPIT umí napsat velmi dobré skladby a jsou skvělým příslibem do budoucna. Líbí se mi, že ke své morbidní práci přistupují hezky postaru, poctivě. Mají tuhle muziku v krvi a tu jak známo jen tak nevyměníte. Základem "Into the Rotpit" je surové železo, ze kterého je ukována demonahrávka pro všechny pravé fanoušky pohřbů do země. Příjemná trepanace lebky, beru do ruky kladivo. Začíná další den v záhrobí, další den v temnotě. Je zcela jasné, co budu dnes poslouchat. Syrový death metal, který vás vyvrhne zaživa!

I crush old bones all day, and when I'm done, I visit abandoned dungeons. I soak up the atmosphere of endless death. I discovered the casket called ROTPIT thanks to the musicians who play in the pack of the same name. They are a guarantee of quality for me.

Yes, the name is written in rusty letters on the tombstone - ROTPIT. The content of the new demo "Into the Rotpit" is raw, dusty Nordic-style death metal. It is necessary to add that very high quality.

Of course, this is only a small, three-song tasting of raw meat, but even though it is a demo, the recording has a good sound, a cover tuned until the 1990s and a lot of good ideas. Stylistically, the work of ROTPIT can be compared to CARNAGE, DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED, FLESHCRAWL, ENTRAILS. Powerful onset, atmosphere of abandoned morgue, sick vocals. During the first few listens, I really like the company of this party. The corpses rotate in the coffins, the holy water has reached the boiling point. Cold runs through my body, my bones are frozen and I'm afraid they will break under pressure. ROTPIT can write very good songs and they are a great promise for the future. I like that they approach their morbid work nicely, honestly. They have this music in their blood and, as you know, you can't just exchange it. The basis of "Into the Rotpit" is pig iron, from which a demo is forged for all true fans of funerals in the country. Pleasant trepanation of the skull, I take a hammer in my hand. It starts another day in the grave, another day in the dark. It is quite clear what I will listen to today. Raw death metal that will throw you out alive!
