Pokud chcete vidět nemrtvé, musíte vstát v hluboké noci a vydat se na dlouhou cestu. Hluboko do lesů, hned kousek od starého pohřebiště. Na okraj děsivých močálů. Smrt má totiž ráda chlad a temnotu. Pokud budete trpěliví a budete poslouchat nahrávky, jako je novinka od legendárních finských tmářů PURTENANCE, spatříte přízraky. Obličeje bez tváře, jedovatý smích. Prokletí se navěky toulají mezi naším a oním světem. A užívají si novou desku "The Rot Within Us".

V krvavé mlze, v plesnivých katakombách nebo v močálech bez konce. Někde v těchto místech musela nová deska vznikat. Je po okraj narvaná mrazivými melodiemi, popraskanými kostmi i morbidními ozvěnami ze záhrobí. Finové jsou zpět a opět mají skvělou formu. Na tyhle staré psy je spolehnutí.

Jsem dlouholetý fanoušek kapely a vždycky se mi líbila atmosféra jejich desek. Pokaždé mi připadá, že se kolem skladeb vznáší pach smrti. Motivy jsou velmi zajímavé, napínavé, magické a naléhavé. Líbí se mi, že pánové hrají upřímně, od srdce. Jedou si svým směrem, mají vlastní výraz i ksicht. PURTENANCE mě opět rozsekali na malé kousky. Pohřbili mě zaživa. Stal jsem se sám přízrakem a užíval si skvělý zvuk (Jaakko Viitalähde - mastering) i jezdce apokalypsy, který je na obalu (autorem je Chris Moyen). Tady se hraje hudba pro všechny staré maniaky, pro fanoušky dlouhých stínů (a kapel typu ABHORRENCE, BOLT THROWER, DEMIGOD, DEPRAVITY, KRYPTS, SLUGATHOR, PUTREVORE, CORPSESSED, MORDICUS, BLASHPHERIAN, IMMOLATION, INCANTATION) i tradičních pohřbů do země. Oceňuji i určitý melancholický nádech, který je pro tuhle smečku tolik typický. "The Rot Within Us" je přesně tím druhem hudby, která koluje i v mých žilách. Jsem vždy moc rád, když vstoupí dáma s kosou do mých děsivých snů. Podá mi svoji kostnatou ruku a usměje se. Je čas jít. Vydáme se kousek za město a stále dokola posloucháme tuhle nahrávku. Užívám si ji já, Smrt i Satan, který nás přivítá s otevřenou náručí. Pokaždé, když mě štve současný divný svět, zavřu se do své kobky, ulehnu do rakve a poslouchám celou diskografii PURTENANCE. Nové album se mezi ostatními rozhodně neztratí. Naopak, rozdrtilo mě nebývalou silou. Načerpal jsem z něj černou energii. Nemrtví by mohli vyprávět. Už teď se těším, až padne na město tma. Vše je připraveno. Krev mi tuhne v žilách a mozek se vaří ve vlastní šťávě. Temný, chladný smrtící metalový obřad pro všechny prokleté, démony i přízraky! Kult ryzí, prašivé smrti!

In bloody mists, in moldy catacombs, in swamps without end. Somewhere in these places the new record must have been made. It's packed to the brim with chilling melodies, cracked bones and morbid echoes from beyond the grave. The Finns are back, and they're in great form again. These old dogs can be relied upon.

I'm a long time fan of the band and I've always liked the vibe of their records. I always feel like there's the smell of death wafting around the songs. The themes are very interesting, suspenseful, magical and urgent. I like the fact that the gentlemen play sincerely, from the heart. They go in their own direction, they have their own expression and face. PURTENANCE once again cut me into small pieces. They buried me alive. I became a ghost myself and enjoyed the great sound (Jaakko Viitalähde - mastering) and the apocalypse rider on the cover (by Chris Moyen). Here is music for all the old geeks, for fans of long shadows (and bands like ABHORRENCE, BOLT THROWER, DEMIGOD, DEPRAVITY, KRYPTS, SLUGATHOR, PUTREVORE, CORPSESSED, MORDICUS, BLASHPHERIAN, IMMOLATION, INCANTATION) and traditional burials in the ground. I also appreciate a certain melancholic touch that is so typical for this pack. "The Rot Within Us" is exactly the kind of music that runs through my veins. I'm always so happy when the lady with the scythe enters my scary dreams. She gives me her bony hand and smiles. It's time to go. We head a little ways out of town and listen to this record over and over again. Enjoyed by me, Death and Satan, who welcomes us with open arms. Every time I get annoyed with the weird world of today, I lock myself in my dungeon, lie down in my coffin and listen to the entire PURTENANCE discography. The new album is definitely not lost among the rest. On the contrary, it crushed me with unprecedented force. I got black energy from it. The undead could tell a story. I'm already looking forward to when darkness falls on the city. Everything is ready. My blood is stiff in my veins and my brain is boiling in its own juices. A dark, cold death metal ritual for all the damned, demons and ghosts! The cult of pure, mangy death!
