Pokaždé, když otevřu dveře, tak bývám překvapený. Jsou situace, na které si nikdy nezvyknete. Lidé jsou schopní šílených věcí. Zvířata sice také někdy zabíjejí pro zábavu, ale nejsou tolik krutá. Tentokrát se houpala pověšená na hácích. Z ran ji odtékala zkažená krev a v očích měla nekonečný děs. Sundali jsme mrtvolu na zem a i když už dávno nevěříme v Boha, pomodlili jsme se za její strach. I když jsme věděli, že její duše bude navěky bloudit mezi naším a oním světem. Tělo se možná rozloží a shnije ve studené zemi, ale zůstane tu po ní bolest, otištěná do našich myšlenek.
Death metal vždy býval o hnusných a šílených věcech. Stejně jako hororové filmy a knihy přistupuje k nenávisti s nadsázkou. U nového alba (prvního dlouhohrajícího) amerických NOXIS přede mnou začaly podobné příběhy ožívat již při prvním poslechu. Jsou totiž nekompromisní, divocí, vzteklí a zůstává po nich také krvavá stopa. Stejně jako po maniakovi z úvodu dnešní recenze.
Pokud do klasické smrtící rovnice dosadíte masivní zvuk (Noah Buchanan - mixing, mastering), obal (Jerry Hionis) a zajímavé nápady, vyjde vám výsledek, který musí potěšit každého, kdo má rád klasický brutální death metal ze staré školy (ranná alba SUFFOCATION), ale třeba i finskou temnotu a chlad. Zároveň, a to oceňuji opravdu hodně, nejsou NOXIS jen dalšími, kteří by jen kopírovali staré postupy. Naopak, kapela sice staví na tradičních základech, ale snaží se přinést i něco nového. Rozvíjí staré myšlenky novým způsobem. Výsledný koktejl v sobě obsahuje velké množství jedu. Navíc, album "Violence Inherent in the System" se opravdu velmi dobře poslouchá. Skladby v sobě mají velké množství surové energie, takový ten heavy efekt, který odlišuje dobré smečky od špatných. Kapela se přidala poprvé na temnou stranu síly v roce 2019. Nenechte se ale mýlit, nejedná se rozhodně o nějaké nováčky. Naopak, v kapele působí zkušení muzikanti, kteří toho mají za sebou již hodně. Zde se sešli, aby vás pověsili na háky, rozdrtili vám lebky, odtrhali maso od kostí. A to všechno dělají velmi elegantním způsobem. Kapela balancuje na tenké hranici mezi životem a smrtí a je vám doufám jasné, kdo vyhraje. Samozřejmě, budete padat do hlubin, bude vám setnuta hlava. Pokaždé, když přijdu na místo, na kterém se stalo něco zlého a ohavného, tak si na tohle album vzpomenu. Je totiž po okraj narvané tlakem, zajímavými nápady a smradem rozkládajících se těl. Když otevřu další dveře, tak jsem překvapený. Jsou věci, na které si nikdy nezvyknu. Lidé jsou schopní šílených věcí. Tentokrát se houpala pověšená na hácích. Brutální, temný a surový morbidní death metal, u kterého shnijete zaživa! Budete rozdrceni na prach!

Every time I open the door, I'm surprised. There are some situations you never get used to. People are capable of crazy things. Animals sometimes kill for fun, but they're not as cruel. This time it was swinging from hooks. Her wounds were dripping with bad blood and her eyes were full of terror. We lowered the corpse to the ground and even though we no longer believe in God, we prayed for her fear. Even though we knew her soul would forever wander between our world and the next. Her body might decompose and rot in the cold earth, but the pain would remain, imprinted on our thoughts.
Death metal has always been about ugly and crazy things. Like horror movies and books, it approaches hate with hyperbole. With the new album (the first full-length) of American NOXIS, similar stories started to come alive in front of me at the first listen. For they are uncompromising, ferocious, angry and they also leave a trail of blood. Just like the maniac from the beginning of today's review.
If you add massive sound (Noah Buchanan - mixing, mastering), cover art (Jerry Hionis) and interesting ideas to the classic death equation, you get a result that must please everyone who likes classic brutal death metal from the old school (early SUFFOCATION albums), but also Finnish darkness and coldness. At the same time, and I appreciate this a lot, NOXIS are not just another band copying the old ways. On the contrary, the band builds on traditional foundations, but tries to bring something new as well. They develop old ideas in a new way. The resulting cocktail contains a great deal of venom. Moreover, the album "Violence Inherent in the System" is really very easy to listen to. The songs have a lot of raw energy in them, the kind of heavy effect that separates the good packs from the bad. The band first joined the dark side of the force in 2019. Make no mistake though, these are definitely not some newcomers. On the contrary, the band is made up of experienced musicians who have been through a lot. They're here to hang you from hooks, crush your skulls, and tear flesh from your bones. And they do it all in a very elegant way. The band is teetering on the thin line between life and death, and I hope it's clear who's going to win. Of course, you'll fall into the depths, you'll be beheaded. Every time I come to a place where something evil and heinous has happened, I think of this album. It's packed to the brim with pressure, interesting ideas and the stench of decomposing bodies. When I open the next door, I'm surprised. There are some things I'll never get used to. People are capable of crazy things. This time she was swinging from a hook. Her wounds were dripping wicked blood, and her eyes held an endless terror. The body may decompose and rot in the cold earth, but the pain remains, imprinted on our thoughts.
