K prvnímu napadení došlo nedaleko. Kdysi opuštěná hala, plná zdánlivě mrtvých strojů. Umělá inteligence začala být chytřejší, než většina lidí. Mysleli jsme si, že už to nezažijeme. Jenže válka začala. Po ulicích se válela mrtvá těla a já marně hledal soundtrack k apokalypse. Konečně jsem našel. Novinka skotských MAN MUST DIE je přesně tou hudbou, která bude znít všude, až nastane konec našeho prokletého druhu. Technický death metal je stylem, ve kterém si opravdu velmi vybírám. Jen tak něco mi nevoní.
Jsem starý zmlsaný pes, který požaduje, aby v sobě měla hudba drive a sílu. Aby mě nakopala zadek. Žádná umělá preludia, tak jak to předvádí spousta současných smeček. "The Pain Behind It All" je albem, které mě rovnou přikovalo na zeď. Rozsekalo mě na malé kousky, jako perfektně seřízený stroj na zabíjení.
Základem je opět surový brutální death metal. Kapela ale velmi šikovně vkládá i technické a progresivní pasáže. Pokud máte rádi smečky jako DECAPITATED, REVOCATION, NEURAXIS, PSYCROPTIC, MISERY INDEX, KATAKLYSM, DYSCARNATE, NECROPHAGIST, neměla by deska chybět ani ve vaší diskografii. V některých momentech se pánové vydávají na výlet až někam do míst, ve kterých se pohybovali FEAR FACTORY. Nahrubo nasekané riffy, drtivé bicí a vokál bestie. Vše je pak opatřeno velmi dobrým, masivním a čitelným zvukem. Celkově zní album hodně chladně, temně, jakoby v pozadí celou dobu pobublávala proříznutá tepna. Se světem to poslední dobou nevidím moc dobře, ale dokud budou hrát podobné skupiny, jako MAN MUST DIE, budu vědět, že někde je ještě vše v pořádku. Pánové kopli do vrtule, nastartovali motor a je opravdu znát, že jako palivo používají vysokooktanový benzín. "The Pain Behind It All" je ďábelskou jízdou, na jejímž konci padnete vyčerpáním. Nahrávka je zajímavá, pestrá, nenudím se ani chvilku. Některé skladby jsou možná trošku delší, ale to vůbec nevadí. Po ulicích se válí mrtvá těla a já marně hledám soundtrack k apokalypse. Konečně jsem našel. Masakr! Temné, technické, chladné death metalové inferno!

I'm an old dog who demands that the music has drive and power in it. To kick my ass. No artificial preludes, like a lot of the current bands are doing. "The Pain Behind It All" is the album that nailed me to the wall. Chopped me up into little pieces, like a perfectly tuned killing machine.
The basis is again raw brutal death metal. However, the band very skillfully inserts also technical and progressive passages. If you like such bands as DECAPITATED, REVOCATION, NEURAXIS, PSYCROPTIC, MISERY INDEX, KATAKLYSM, DYSCARNATE, NECROPHAGIST, the album should not be missing in your discography. At some points, the gentlemen take a trip to some of the places FEAR FACTORY used to be. Coarsely chopped riffs, crushing drums and beast vocals. Everything is then provided with a very good, massive and clear sound. Overall the album sounds very cold, dark, as if a cut artery was bubbling in the background the whole time. I don't see things going well with the world lately, but as long as bands like MAN MUST DIE keep playing, I'll know that somewhere everything is still okay. The gentlemen kicked in the propeller, started the engine and you can really tell they are using high octane gasoline as fuel. "The Pain Behind It All" is a devilish ride that will have you collapsing from exhaustion by the end of it. The record is interesting, varied, not a moment of boredom. Some songs are maybe a bit longer, but that doesn't matter at all. There are dead bodies lying in the streets and I am looking in vain for the soundtrack to the apocalypse. I finally found it. Massacre! Dark, technical, cold death metal inferno!
