Nůž, který mi byl zabodnut kdysi dávno do břicha, byl vykován z kvalitní švédské oceli. Dodnes si pamatuji odlesk čepele i bolest, která mi sevřela vnitřnosti. Psal se konec osmdesátých let minulého století a já se toulal ulicemi. S kamarády, kteří na tom byli velmi podobně jako já. Tenkrát jsme byli prokleti a zůstalo nám to dodnes. Začínali jsme na klasickém heavy metalu, thrash i black metalu. Nosili jsme džínové bundy a pásy z nábojnic. Muziku jsme poslouchali zásadně nahlas a pivo muselo být řádně vychlazené.
HELLBUTCHER se poprvé objevili na scéně až roku 2022 s ochutnávkou v podobě demonahrávky. Přesto jsem měl pocit, že jsem zpátky v dobách svého mládí. Není divu, kapela je složena ze samých zkušených muzikantů, ze švédské black metalové šlechty. Těmto pánům koluje tenhle styl v krvi a je jejich součástí. Novinka to jenom potvrzuje. Pamatujte na to, že ocel je potřeba dobře zakalit. A to se téhle smečce povedlo na výbornou.
Zpěvák Hellbutcher z NIFELHEIM se obklopil maniaky, kteří moc dobře vědí, o čem je poctivý, ryzí metal. Nikde žádné zbytečnosti, jenom pravý a zadek nakopávající black thrash metal, zahraný s krvavým pohledem. Satan zase jednou stojí na rohu ulice a usmívá se. Stačí ho jenom pozvat na pivo a přidat pořádně hlasitost. Strhněte někdo Ježíšovi jeho korunu z hlavy! Nezaslouží si ji. Ten jeho falešný úsměv jsme už dávno prokoukli. Tady se hraje ostře, nekompromisně, sází se na silné a divoké melodie. Líbí se mi živelný a chladný zvuk, který se mi pokaždé zadře hluboko pod kůži. Nahrávka je vlastně takovou dokonalou esencí toho, co mám na starém metalu tolik rád. Zapomeňte na klišé a umělost mnohých současných skupin, tohle je hudba pokrytá pavučinami. Jako bych našel starý nůž, kterým mě kdysi bodli. Když odstraníte nános rzi, začne se lesknout úplně stejně, jako v dobách největší slávy tohoto stylu. HELLBUTCHER nahráli desku, která je stará a i svěží zároveň. Je v ní obsaženo velké množství chladné energie, nakumulované do jednotlivých skladeb. Je opravdu jako kus perfektně vykovaného železa, opracovaného k dokonalosti. Kapela je jako smečka prašivých psů, kteří dlouhé roky hlídali vstup do podsvětí. Letos se utrhli ze řetězu a touží po čerstvé krvi. Zvuk, obal, produkce, vše slouží k jedinému. Navěky vás proklít, strhnout do temných hlubin Hádovy říše. Na své si přijdou jak fanoušci IRON MAIDEN, tak BATHORY i VENOM. Už zase cítím ostrou čepel nože, který mi pomalu zajíždí do vnitřností. Dobrá hudba se pozná podle toho, že vás nenechá v klidu, že vás rozseká, zničí. Usmívám se jako ta stará děvka Smrt a těším se na další skladbu. Dejte mi někdo napít, cítím se totálně spálený! Ryzí, poctivý a chladný black/thrash heavy metal, ukovaný z té nejkvalitnější oceli! Ďábel se usmívá!

The knife that was stabbed into my stomach a long time ago was forged from high quality Swedish steel. I still remember the glint of the blade and the pain that gripped my insides. It was the late 1980s and I was wandering the streets. With friends who were very much like me. We were cursed then, and we're still cursed now. We started out on classic heavy metal, thrash and black metal. We wore denim jackets and bullet belts. We listened to the music loud and the beer had to be properly chilled.
HELLBUTCHER first appeared on the scene in 2022 with a tasting demo. Still, I felt like I was back in the days of my youth. No wonder, the band is composed of all experienced musicians, from the Swedish black metal nobility. This style runs in their blood and is a part of them. The new album only confirms it. Remember, steel needs to be tempered well. And this bunch has done that to perfection.
The singer Hellbutcher from NIFELHEIM has surrounded himself with maniacs who know very well what honest, pure metal is all about. There's no uselessness anywhere, just true and ass-kicking black thrash metal, played with a bloody eye. Satan once again stands on the street corner and smiles. Just invite him for a beer and turn up the volume. Somebody rip Jesus' crown off his head! He doesn't deserve it. We saw through his fake smile a long time ago. The playing here is strident, uncompromising, relying on strong and fierce melodies. I like the lively, cool sound that gets deep under my skin every time. The record is actually such a perfect essence of what I love so much about old metal. Forget the clichés and artificiality of many contemporary bands, this is music covered in cobwebs. It's like finding an old knife I was once stabbed with. When you remove the rust, it starts to shine just as it did in the style's glory days. HELLBUTCHER have recorded a record that is both old and fresh at the same time. There is a great deal of cool energy accumulated into the individual tracks. It really is like a piece of perfectly wrought iron, machined to perfection. The band is like a pack of mangy dogs that have guarded the entrance to the underworld for years. This year, they've broken free from the chain and are out for fresh blood. The sound, the cover, the production, everything serves one purpose. To curse you forever, to drag you down into the dark depths of Hades' realm. Fans of IRON MAIDEN, BATHORA and VENOM will be in for a treat. I can feel the sharp blade of the knife slowly sinking into my guts again. Good music is known by the fact that it doesn't leave you in peace, that it cuts you up, destroys you. I smile like that old bitch Death and look forward to the next song. Somebody get me a drink, I feel totally burnt! Pure, honest and cold black/thrash heavy metal, forged from the finest steel! The devil is smiling!
