Přemýšleli jste někdy o tom, co se stane s našimi dušemi, zatímco tělo hnije postupně v zemi? Zmizí v jiné dimenzi, v pekle nebo v nebi? Za řekou Styx a nebo se nestane vůbec nic? Otázek, které jsou stále pokládány je mnoho a odpovědi na ně nemáme. Švédští melodičtí death metalisté FURNACE vám nabízejí příběh, který sice na tyhle otázky neodpovídá, ale pokud máte dobrou fantazii, tak určitě zaujme. Představte si muže, který sestrojí stroj, aby se mohl vydat do záhrobí.
Hledá svoji mrtvou manželku, potkává duše zemřelých, potácí se v temnotě, potká dokonce samotného Boha, který je ale již značně vyhořelý, protože se nemůže dívat na to, kam to lidstvo dopracovalo. A k tomu všemu vám hraje jako nějaká chladná a temná kulisa utkaná z temných a chladných death metalových melodií tahle deska. Podepsáni jsou pod ní - Rogga Johansson, Peter Svensson, Lars Demoké.
Máte rádi staré EDGE OF SANITY, líbí se vám PARADISE LOST? Líbí se vám severský vítr, studený sníh a mráz v kostech? Tak potom jste zde správně. Zvukově velmi dobře ošetřené album (nahráno v The Rotpit and Night Wind Studios, o produkci, mixování a mastering se postaral Peter Svensson) vás přenese za řeku Styx. Potkáte své vlastní démony, budete zpytovat svědomí. Celým albem se jako nějaká prašivá pavučina vznáší melancholie a doomové nálady. Určitě znáte takové ty zvláštní momenty, kdy vás bez důvodu a zničehonic popadne smutek. Tak přesně takhle vnímán nové album "Trojan Hearse" já. Pánové sice nevymýšlejí nic nového, zbytečně neexperimentují, ale rozhodně se nejedná jenom o další obyčejné, i když velmi dobře zahrané řemeslo. Naopak, stalo se mi to vlastně ihned, během několika prvních poslechů - byl jsem chycený do pasti. Rád se k nahrávce vracím, nejlépe, když se setmí a v ulicích se objeví přízraky. Někdy nad tím přemýšlím, jaké by to bylo mít stroj, který by mi umožnil se setkat s mrtvými přáteli, doříct jim všechno, co jsme nestihli, vypít spolu ještě několik piv. Já vím, nejde to, ale hudba je přeci jako sny. Může být těžká a zákeřná, ale i chladná a podmanivá, s velkou porcí zajímavých melodií, stejně jako v tomto případě. Venku se zvedá vítr a začalo pršet. Ochladilo se a z nebe padá krev. Musím se vydat na cestu. Beru si s sebou tohle album, to je samozřejmé. Jeho síla totiž vynikne nejvíce někde o samotě, v lese, na starých pohřebištích, na kterých je vchod do podzemí. Mrazivá, temná cesta bez konce! Hledání dávno mrtvých stínů! Melodický death metal, který se vám dostane do morku kostí!

You will meet your own demons, you will question your conscience. Melancholy and doom moods float through the whole album like some kind of dusty spider web. You must know those strange moments when sadness takes hold of you for no reason and all of a sudden. That's exactly how I perceived the new album "Trojan Hearse". The gentlemen don't invent anything new, they don't experiment unnecessarily, but it is definitely not just another ordinary, though very well played craft. On the contrary, it actually happened to me immediately, within the first few listens - I was trapped. I like to return to the recording, preferably when it gets dark and the ghosts appear in the streets. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to have a machine that would allow me to meet up with dead friends, to tell them everything we missed, to drink a few more beers together. I know it's impossible, but music is like dreams. It can be heavy and insidious, but it can also be cool and captivating, with a large portion of interesting melodies, as in this case. Outside, the wind is picking up and it's starting to rain. It's getting colder and blood is falling from the sky. I must be on my way. I'm taking this album with me, that goes without saying. Because its power is most evident in the solitude of the woods, in old burial grounds where there's an entrance to the underground. A freezing, dark journey with no end! A search for shadows long dead! Melodic death metal that will get to your bones!
