Pokaždé, když navštívím tenhle hřbitov, tak přemýšlím, proč se u některých hrobů zastavím na delší dobu. Našlapuji tiše, abych nenarušil atmosféru. Na náhrobcích jsou napsána jména kapel, které mám rád celý život. Některé již mají hodně poničené hroby. Kříže směřují směrem dolů a v márnici je zase jednou pěkně živo. Tentokrát máme co do činění se smečkou, která mě zaujala již během prvního poslechu. BLASPHEMOUS FIRE, kapela z Portugalska, připomínající svým debutem pradávné rituály pro vyvolávání temných sil.
Ihned mě zaujal velmi zničující a podmanivý zvuk. Připadal jsem si opravdu jako na nějakém zlém a ošklivém rituálu. Vše potom podtrhuje démonický obal od Belial NecroArts. Kapela se přejmenovala, dříve působila jako SUMMON. Fanoušci temnoty asi ví, o kom píšu. Mám nějaká alba dokonce doma. Polský label Godz ov War Productions snad nikdy nevydal nic špatného. Důkazem budiž i prvotina "Beneath the Darkness", která hoří jasným, černým plamenem.
Všichni, kdo někdy navštívili podobné rituály, moc dobře vědí, že základem hudby je zde absolutní zlo. Kapele se povedlo vypálit na hudební nosič ozvěny ze záhrobí. Díval jsem se do tmy a přemýšlel, kolik odstínů černé vlastně existuje. Portugalci dodali hudbu, která na mě působí jako zkažená krev, čerstvě proříznutý vřed, ze kterého vytéká hnis. Na tohle prokletí žádná svěcená voda, ani modlitby nefungují. Líbí se mi, jakým způsobem jsou skladby napsány, jakou mají atmosféru. Během poslechu opravdu ožívají přízraky a kolem se vznáší pochmurné a děsivé nálady. Pokud jste fanoušci třeba takových INCANTATION, GRAVE MIASMA, ALTARAGE, DEAD CONGREGATION, LVCIFYRE, myslím, že budete spokojeni jako já. Líbí se mi, že si pánové pohlídali formální stránku věci. Není divu, pod kapelou jsou podepsáni zkušení muzikanti. Album ale není jenom dobře řemeslně zvládnuté. Má v sobě něco navíc. Drive, sílu, temnou energii, posbíranou na starých pohřebištích. Už jste někdy viděli hořet rakev prokletého? Ani nemusíte, stejný zážitek budete mít i u "Beneath the Darkness". Jako bych se procházel nekonečnými chodbami podsvětí. Po stěnách stéká špína a krysy tančí na zbytcích shnilých kostí. Smrt se usmívá a Satan kývá souhlasně hlavou. Jsem zde správně. This time we are dealing with a pack that caught my attention on the first listen. BLASPHEMOUS FIRE, a band from Portugal, reminiscent of ancient rituals for summoning dark forces with their debut.
I was immediately drawn to their very devastating and captivating sound. I really felt like I was at some evil and nasty ritual. Everything is then accentuated by the demonic cover art by Belial NecroArts. The band has changed its name, formerly known as SUMMON. Fans of darkness probably know who I'm writing about. I even have some albums at home. The Polish label Godz ov War Productions has never released anything bad. The proof is the debut album "Beneath the Darkness", which burns with a bright, black flame.
Anyone who has ever attended such rituals knows very well that the basis of the music here is absolute evil. The band has managed to burn echoes from beyond the grave onto a music carrier. I was looking into the darkness and wondering how many shades of black actually exist. The Portuguese have delivered music that strikes me as tainted blood, a freshly cut ulcer oozing pus. No holy water or prayers work for this curse. I like the way the songs are written, the atmosphere they have. The ghosts really come alive while listening to them, and there are gloomy and scary moods floating around. If you're a fan of the likes of INCANTATION, GRAVE MIASMA, ALTARAGE, DEAD CONGREGATION, LVCIFYRE, I think you'll be as satisfied as I am. I like the fact that the gentlemen have taken care of the formal side of things. No wonder, the band is signed by experienced musicians. But the album is not only well crafted. It has something more. Drive, power, dark energy, collected in old burial grounds. Have you ever seen the coffin of the damned burning? You don't have to, you'll have the same experience with "Beneath the Darkness". It's like walking through the endless corridors of the underworld. Dirt dripping down the walls and rats dancing on the remains of rotten bones. Death smiles and Satan nods his head in agreement.
