Už dávno nevím, co je pravda a co lež. Potácím se mezi zlými sny, hororovými filmy a krutou realitou. Nasávám pach smrti pokaždé, když se sestoupím dolů do sklepa. Kdysi dávno, před mnoha lety, zde jeden můj předchůdce věznil nevinné dívky, mučil je a prováděl s nimi šílené věci. Bolest je otištěna do zdí a někdy, když je tichá noc, tak stále slyším jejich výkřiky. Od prvního okamžiku, co jsem se setkal s hudbou rakouských REEK OF DEATH, tak mám neodbytný pocit, že jsem jejich nové album našel v právě v těchto prokletých místech.

Ihned na začátku je nutné říct, že se jedná o pravověrný, krutý, nekompromisní a prašivý smrtící kov, který vás ihned přikove na zeď. Alespoň tak se to stalo mě. Kapela ale nezapomíná ani na morbidní melodie a vy tak máte možnost si vychutnat velmi dobře kořeněné syrové maso. Krev stéká dolů a vy sledujete, jak z jejích očí uniká život. Nebo je to jen děsivý sen? Kdo ví.

Ve skladbách je vše potřebné pro opravdovou reálnou pitvu. Pacient samozřejmě ještě trošku žije, ale nalezneme zde vztek, tlak i energii, chladné melodie i vokál nasáklý chorobami. Pokud máte rádi třeba takové CARCASS, potom nové debutové album "Mors in Tabula" určitě ochutnejte, myslím, že rozhodně nebudete zklamáni. Kapela si navíc dala velký pozor na to, aby měla novinka dobrý zvuk i obal. Vy se tak můžete soustředit na hudbu samotnou a pokud jste alespoň trošku vnímaví, tak se vám hudba těchto maniaků dostane nejen do krve, ale i hluboko do podvědomí a děsivých snů. Líbí se mi, že na to jdou REEK OF DEATH postaru, ale nebojí se vydat i novějšími cestami. Koktejl, který nám umíchali, je nejen velmi chutný, ale také dobře ochucený. Když jsem kdysi dávno, před mnoha lety, tyhle stránky zakládal, tak jsem chtěl podporovat právě podobné kapely. Rakušané totiž přesně splňují to, co mám na tomhle stylu rád. Naleznete zde nejen dobře zapamatovatelné a divoké melodie, ale také vás bude po celou dobu poslechu provázet taková zvláštní, temná atmosféra. Dnešní svět je často velmi těžké místo k životu. Možná právě proto rád a často sestupuji dolů do sklepa, abych načerpal inspiraci do dalších dní. "Mors in Tabula" je albem, které se mi zadřelo hluboko pod kůži. Dostalo se mi do žil a zanechalo po sobě děsivé sny. Už dávno nevím, co je pravda a co lež. Potácím se mezi zlými sny, hororovými filmy a krutou realitou. Nasávám pach smrti pokaždé, když se sestoupím dolů, do podsvětí. Plesnivý, morbidní a ostrý death metal, který po sobě zanechává chladnou krvavou stopu! Masakr na pitevně!

I don't know what's true and what's false anymore. I stumble between bad dreams, horror movies and harsh reality. I suck in the smell of death every time I go down to the basement. Once upon a time, many years ago, a predecessor of mine imprisoned innocent girls here, tortured them and did crazy things to them. The pain is imprinted on the walls and sometimes, when the night is quiet, I can still hear their screams. From the first moment I encountered the music of Austria's REEK OF DEATH, I had the insistent feeling that I had found their new album in these cursed places.

Right off the bat, it must be said that this is orthodox, cruel, uncompromising and scabrous death metal that will nail you to the wall immediately. At least that's what happened to me. But the band doesn't forget the morbid melodies either, giving you a chance to enjoy some very well seasoned raw meat. The blood trickles down and you watch the life drain from its eyes. Or is it just a terrifying dream? Who knows.

The tracks have everything needed for a real real dissection. The patient is still a little alive, of course, but here we find anger, pressure and energy, cold melodies and vocals soaked in disease. If you like the likes of CARCASS, then give the new debut album "Mors in Tabula" a try, I think you definitely won't be disappointed. Moreover, the band took great care to make sure that the new album has a good sound and cover. You can concentrate on the music itself and if you are at least a little bit perceptive, the music of these maniacs will get not only into your blood, but also deep into your subconscious and scary dreams. I like that REEK OF DEATH are going at it the old fashioned way, but they aren't afraid to go down newer paths. The cocktail they mixed up for us is not only very tasty, but also well flavored. When I started this site many years ago, I wanted to support bands like this. The Austrians are exactly what I like about this style. You will not only find memorable and wild melodies, but also a strange, dark atmosphere will accompany you throughout the whole listening time. Today's world is often a very hard place to live in. Maybe that's why I like to go down to the basement often to get inspiration for the days ahead. "Mors in Tabula" is an album that burrowed deep under my skin. It got into my veins and left me with terrifying dreams. I don't know what's true and what's false anymore. I stumble between bad dreams, horror movies and harsh reality.
