Spoustu vzpomínek mám v mlze. První z čipů, které my vložili do hlavy, nebyl dokonalý. Občas jsem někoho zabil. Občas jsem se rozeběhl proti zdi a roztřískal si hlavu. Nepomáhaly restarty, ani nový software. Jediné, co mě dalo dohromady, byla nová deska kanadských techniků PROTOSEQUENCE. Kapely, která přichází se svým prvním dlouhohrajícím albem. Již od začátku mám pocit, že kolem mě ožívají staré stroje. Líbí se mi temná, antihumánní atmosféra celé nahrávky.
Kanaďané jsou jiní než ostatní. Myslím tím teď způsob, jakým přistupují k muzice jako celku. Základem je sice klasický technický death metal se spoustou progresivních prvků, ale zazní i hardcore/deathcore a odkazy na klasický rock. Vše je potom zamíchané ve velmi třaskavém a zajímavém koktejlu. Pochutná si každý, kdo má mysl otevřenou a dobrý čip v hlavě.
Je to samozřejmě muzika velmi těžká na poslech. Spousta fanoušků ji odloží, protože ji nepochopí. Doporučuji dát nahrávce čas. Nechat ji uzrát. Každý program musí být také odladěn. Dočetl jsem před časem jedno dystopické sci-fi a na tuhle kapelu jsem si často vzpomněl. Dovedu si představit zničený svět v blízké budoucnosti a "Bestiary" znějící éterem. Skladby v sobě mají něco výbušného naštvaného, neotřelého a zajímavého. Pokud máte rádi smečky jako GOROD, OBSCURA, ARCHSPIRE, CRYPTOPSY, neváhejte ani chvilku. Kanaďané ale nekopírují, spíše rozvíjejí myšlenky, které byly kdysi v tomto stylu položeny. Co se týká zvuku, obalu, celkového provedení, vše je v nejlepším pořádku. Jenže to samo o sobě nestačí. V dnešní době nadprodukce rozhodně ne. Kapela přidává ještě něco navíc, jakési chvění, temnou energii, napojenou snad na vesmír, na odvrácenou stranu. Dosadil jsem do rovnice o několika neznámých tuhle hudbu, četbu další sci-fi knihy a návštěvu jedné staré haly, ve které spí staré stroje. Vše se mi spojilo v jeden celek. Výsledkem byl potom skvělý zážitek. Jen mi chvilku trvalo, než se mi dostala deska do hlavy. Psal jsem to již v úvodu. Mám v hlavě ještě starý čip. Ale když poslouchám "Bestiary", tak mám pocit, že byl právě restartován. Pokud máte tenhle styl rádi, určitě se na tuhle smečku maniaků podívejte. Reboots didn't help, nor did new software. The only thing that brought me back together was a new board from Canadian engineers PROTOSEQUENCE. A band coming out with their first full-length album. From the very beginning I have the feeling that old machines are coming to life around me. I like the dark, anti-human atmosphere of the whole record.
The Canadians are different than the others. I mean now the way they approach music as a whole. Although the base is classic technical death metal with a lot of progressive elements, there are also hardcore/deathcore and references to classic rock. Everything is then mixed in a very shaky and interesting cocktail. Anyone with an open mind and a good chip in their head will enjoy it.
It is, of course, very difficult music to listen to. A lot of fans put it down because they don't get it. I recommend giving the record time. Let it mature. Every program has to be fine-tuned as well. I finished reading a dystopian science fiction book a while ago and I've often thought of this band. I can imagine a destroyed world in the near future and "Bestiary" ringing through the ether. The songs have something explosively angry, novel and interesting about them. If you like packs like GOROD, OBSCURA, ARCHSPIRE, CRYPTOPSY, don't hesitate a moment. But Canadians don't copy, rather they develop ideas that were once laid down in this style. As for the sound, the packaging, the overall execution, everything is in the best order. But that alone is not enough. Certainly not in these days of overproduction. The band adds something extra, a kind of shiver, a dark energy, perhaps connected to the universe, to the other side. I added this music, reading another science fiction book and visiting an old hall where old machines sleep into the equation of several unknowns. Everything came together for me. The result was a great experience. It just took me a while to get the record into my head. I wrote that in the introduction. I still have the old chip in my head. But when I listen to "Bestiary", , I feel like it's just been rebooted. If you like this style, definitely check this pack of maniacs out.
