Moc dobře víš, že když tento lektvar vypiješ, zemřeš. Lidské dějiny jsou plné krve, násilí a boje o moc. MALOKARPATAN se tentokrát vydali na dlouhý výlet do doby císaře Rudolfa II. Opět nám přinášejí zajímavý mix hudebních melodií, které působí velmi svěže, zajímavě. Kapela má již dlouhé roky svůj vlastní rukopis. Stačí mi většinou několik prvních tónů a ihned je poznám. Včera jsem byl v jednom starém chrámu v našem městě. Byla tam výstava morbidních obrazů.
Nějak se mi všechno spojilo v jedno. Poslouchám "Vertumnus Caesar", popíjím prudký jed a doufám, že získám nesmrtelnost. Umírám pomalu, ale hudba nakonec přetrvá věky. Přede mnou se promítá na zeď spousta podivných představ. MALOKARPATAN jsou zpět silnější než kdy dřív.
Zasažen jejich osudem jsem ve starém sklepení. Máme tu laboratoř, jsme kouzelníci, zaříkáváme, objevujeme, proklínáme, mícháme lektvary, které vás uhranou. Stejně jako tahle deska, stejně jako podmanivá a hravá atmosféra celé nahrávky. Zvuk, obal, nápady, vše je podřízeno podmanivým melodiím. Zazní jemné odkazy na MASTER´S HAMMER, ROOT, BATHORY, VENOM, MERCYFUL FATE, NEGURA BUNGET, zemitý black metal, náznaky rockové opery, klasický poctivý heavík i progresivní prvky. Prostudujte si texty, jsou opravdu zajímavé. Připadá mi, že MALOKARPATAN vytáhli z archívů spoustu zajímavých a neotřelých motivů. Často si říkám, že podobná hudba se musí poslouchat srdcem. Musí se nechat plynout, jen tak, jako mrtvá voda ze studně. Kapela se nebojí použít různé lidové i klasické nástroje a dělá to velmi elegantně. Slováci na novince dále zdokonalují svoje nápady. Je pro mě hrozně příjemné je poslouchat. Rád se k nové desce stále vracím, nejlépe v noci, když je všude klid. Zavřu oči a najednou jsem na dvoře Rudolfa II., spolu s hvězdáři, vědci, šarlatány i démony. Připadá mi, že skladby jsou napsány krví. Líbí se mi ostrý zvuk kytar, zpracování vokálů, ale hlavně celkový dojem a nálada celého alba. Pokud máte bohatou fantazii a jste hudebními gurmány, mohu vám novou nahrávku jenom doporučit. Zní jako ozvěny starých časů, jako mrazivá výpověď o naší historii. Poslouchám "Vertumnus Caesar", popíjím prudký jed a doufám, že získám nesmrtelnost. Umírám pomalu, ale hudba nakonec přetrvá věky. You know very well that if you drink this potion, you will die. Human history is full of blood, violence and power struggles. MALOKARPATAN took a long trip to the time of Emperor Rudolph II. Once again, they bring us an interesting mix of tunes that feel very fresh and interesting. The band has had its own signature for many years. I usually just need the first few notes and I recognize them immediately. Yesterday I was in an old church in our town. There was an exhibition of morbid paintings.
Somehow it all came together for me. I'm listening to "Vertumnus Caesar", drinking strong poison and hoping to gain immortality. I'm dying slowly, but the music will last forever. Ahead of me, many strange images are projected on the wall. MALOKARPATAN are back stronger than ever.
Struck by their fate, I'm in an old basement. We have a laboratory, we are magicians, we cast spells, we discover, we curse, we mix potions that will enchant you. Just like this record, just like the captivating and playful atmosphere of the whole record. The sound, the cover, the ideas, everything is subordinated to the captivating melodies. There are subtle references to MASTER'S HAMMER, ROOT, BATHORY, VENOM, MERCYFUL FATE, NEGURA BUNGET, earthy black metal, hints of rock opera, classic honest heavy and progressive elements. Study the lyrics, they are really interesting. It seems to me that MALOKARPATAN have pulled out a lot of interesting and fresh themes from the archives. I often think that music like this must be listened to with the heart. It has to be allowed to flow, just like dead water from a well. The band is not afraid to use various folk and classical instruments and does it very elegantly. The Slovaks continue to refine their ideas on the new album. I find it terribly pleasant to listen to them. I like to keep coming back to the new record, preferably at night when it's quiet everywhere. I close my eyes and suddenly I'm in the court of Rudolph II, along with stargazers, scientists, charlatans and demons. It seems to me that the songs are written in blood. I like the crisp sound of the guitars, the processing of the vocals, but most of all the overall feel and mood of the whole album. If you have a rich imagination and are a musical gourmet, I can only recommend this new recording. It sounds like echoes of old times, like a chilling testimony of our history. I'm listening to "Vertumnus Caesar", drinking violent poison and hoping to gain immortality. I'm dying slowly, but the music will eventually last for ages. A sublime, majestic black heavy metal trip to the mysterious times of alchemy and occult sciences!
