Proséváš mezi prsty prach smíchaný s krví. Přemýšlíš, co se zde mohlo stát. Nedaleko tebe leží zohavené tělo, s vyděšeným výrazem a polámanými kostmi. Jakoby sem dolů, do katakomb, sestoupila divoká bestie a roztrhala nás na kusy. Oltář je připraven a nekonečnými chodbami podzemí se ozývají podivné skřeky. Myslím si, že nastal čas, pronese do chladu a tmy padlý kněz. Potom ti podřízne hrdlo a začne se usmívat. Obřad může začít.
Kapela INVOCATION je řádným členem chilského podsvětí od roku 2015. Jedná se o pravověrnou nesvatou trojici muzikantů, kteří věří v absolutní tmu a zlo. Dokazují to i na svém letošním prvním dlouhohrajícím albu. Jedná se přesně o takový ten ošklivý a mokvající black death metal, který se hraje hluboko v podzemí. V místech, kde můžete potkat démony, Smrt i samotného Satana.
Jakoby kapela nastavila pokřivené zrcadlo všem prokletým. Zvukově velmi dobře ošetřené (E. Brisso - recording, mixing, Dan Lowndes - mastering), prašivé album se vám dostane brzy do podvědomí. Alespoň takovým způsobem fungovalo na mě, na starého psa, který již dlouhé roky hlídá vstup do podsvětí. Hraje se tu opravdově, uvěřitelně, s takovou tou krvavou jiskrou v oku, která se nedá naučit, musíte ji mít v sobě. INVOCATION na to jdou po staru, přesto divoce a surově. V některých momentech mi připomínají kolegy GRAVE MIASMA, UNAUSSPRECHLICHEN KULTEN, INCANTATION, IMMOLATION, VITAL REMAINS, MORBID ANGEL, MORTEM, DRAWN AND QUARTERED, FUNEBRARUM, FORCE O DARKNESS, SLAUGHTBBATH, HADES ACHER. Zároveň, a to se mi opravdu hodně líbí, mají svůj vlastní výraz i přístup. Některé až doomově melancholické pasáže vám budou připomínat začátky pradávných rituálů. Potom zazní ostrý black metalový riff, případně zemitý, surový death metal a vaše kosti se rozpadnou v prach. Povedl se i obal, pod kterým je podepsán Abomination Hammer (skvělá hororová práce!). Zkrátka a dobře, Chilané vás zavřou do starých kobek, zamknou rezavou bránu a nechají vás ve tmě, dokud nezemřete. Garantuji vám, že to bude v dlouhých, nekonečných křečích. Nová deska je totiž jako nějaká stará choroba, která ležela dlouhé roky uložena v hrobce. Letos ji tihle démoni temnoty vytáhli na povrch a pustili mezi nás, smrtelné nebožáky. Prosévám mezi prsty prach smíchaný s krví. Přemýšlím, co se zde mohlo stát. Nedaleko mne leží zohavené tělo, s vyděšeným výrazem a polámanými kostmi. The band INVOCATION has been a full member of the Chilean underworld since 2015. They are an orthodox unholy trio of musicians who believe in absolute darkness and evil. They prove it on their first full-length album this year. This is exactly the kind of ugly and swamping black death metal that is played deep underground. In places where you can meet demons, Death and Satan himself.
It's like the band held up a distorted mirror to all the damned. Soundwise very well treated (E. Brisso - recording, mixing, Dan Lowndes - mastering), the dusty album will soon get into your subconscious. At least that's the way it worked on me, an old dog who has been guarding the entrance to the underworld for years. The playing here is real, believable, with that bloody sparkle in the eye that can't be taught, you have to have it in you. INVOCATION do it the old fashioned way, yet wild and raw. In some moments they remind me of fellow GRAVE MIASMA, UNAUSSPRECHLICHEN KULTEN, INCANTATION, IMMOLATION, VITAL REMAINS, MORBID ANGEL, MORTEM, DRAWN AND QUARTERED, FUNEBRARUM, FORCE O DARKNESS, SLAUGHTBBATH, HADES ACHER. At the same time, and I really like this a lot, they have their own expression and approach. Some almost doomy melancholic passages will remind you of the beginnings of ancient rituals. Then a sharp black metal riff, or earthy, raw death metal, and your bones will crumble into dust. The cover artwork, signed by Abomination Hammer (great horror work!), is also a great touch. In short, the Chileans lock you in an old dungeon, lock the rusty gate and leave you in the dark until you die. I guarantee it will be in long, endless spasms. For a new record is like some old disease that has lain in a tomb for years. This year, these demons of darkness have brought it to the surface and released it among us mortal wretches.
