Někdy, když se toulám nekonečnými chodbami podzemí, tak zkusím zařvat do ticha. Když ustane ozvěna, většinou slyším šepot nemrtvých. Snažím se s nimi vycházet dobře, protože oni jsou těmi, kteří mi doporučují další alba k poslechu. Mívám hlavu otevřenou a moje fantazie pracuje na sto procent. Švédské FEBRUUS jsem neznal a nikdy o nich neslyšel. A tak jsem si jako vždy zalezl do jedné studené temné kobky a zhasl všechna světla. Nechal jsem na sebe hudbu jen tak působit. Trvalo mi to nějakou dobu, než jsem byl ochoten napsat pár řádek. Přiznám se na rovinu, zpočátku jsme byl trošku zmatený a hlavně, marně jsem hledal slova.
Nakonec se ale vše usadilo a já se začal na každé další setkání těšit. FEBRUUS je kapela, která je projektem jednoho jediného člověka. Andreas Karlsson je podepsán pod vším. Nahrál jednotlivé nástroje a zároveň album mixoval (mastering provedl Mattias Persson). Další, co přenechal někomu jinému, tak je obal. Toho se ujal Daniel Karlsson. A tak najednou poslouchám nahrávku, která je po okraj narvaná tlakem i zajímavými melodiemi.
Někdy mám pocit, že létám vesmírem a objevuji nové dimenze, jindy zase padám po zádech do hlubiny. Těch nálad je opravdu mnoho a trvalo mi nějakou dobu, než jsem se dokázal naladit na stejnou vlnu. Super je, že i po delší době je na nahrávce co objevovat. Pokaždé vyleze na povrch další dříve neslyšený motiv. Je to pestrý death metal, zahalený do takového zvláštního neklidu. Hudba by mohla vyhovovat fanouškům třeba takových EDGE OF SANITY, AFFLICTED, DISHARMONIC ORCHESTRA, CARBONIZED, MORBUS CHRON, SWELLING REPULSION, FLOATING a dalších, kteří se nebojí v death metalu hledat nová zákoutí. Je sice pravdou, že některé skladby jsou možná až příliš dlouhé, ale to berte spíše jako povzdechnutí starého psa, než jako nějakou zásadní připomínku. Síla téhle desky se ukrývá někde jinde. FEBRUUS totiž mají svůj vlastní, nezaměnitelný rukopis. Některé pasáže jsou jedovaté, naleznete tu ale i chlad a potřebnou temnotu. Andreas Karlsson se rád a zkušeně vydává různými směry, je jako hudební badatel. Zároveň (a to je pro mě velmi důležité), se "Surveillance Orgy" opravdu dobře poslouchá. Chce to sice trpělivost a muzika není určena pro každého, ale tak je to správně. Někdy, když se toulám nekonečnými chodbami podzemí, tak zkusím zařvat do ticha. Když ustane ozvěna, většinou slyším šepot nemrtvých. Snažím se s nimi vycházet dobře, protože oni jsou těmi, kdo mi doporučuje další alba k poslechu. Mívám hlavu otevřenou a moje fantazie pracuje na sto procent. Jsem si jistý, že v kobce s nápisem FEBRUUS strávím ještě hodně času. Pořád je co objevovat. Chladný a temný průlet death metalovou galaxií! Vesmírný prach z jiných dimenzí!

Sometimes, when I wander the endless corridors of the underground, I try to shout into the silence. When the echoes stop, I usually hear the whispers of the undead. I try to get along well with them because they are the ones who recommend other albums for me to listen to. I keep my mind open and my imagination working 100%. I didn't know Swedish FEBRUUS and never heard of them. So, as always, I crawled into a cold dark dungeon and turned off all the lights. I just let the music affect me. It took me a while before I was willing to write a few lines. I'll be honest, I was a bit confused at first and more importantly, I was searching in vain for words.
Eventually, though, everything settled down and I began to look forward to each subsequent encounter. FEBRUUS is a band that is the project of one man. Andreas Karlsson is signed to everything. He recorded each instrument and mixed the album (mastering was done by Mattias Persson). Another thing he left to someone else is the cover art. Daniel Karlsson took care of that. So suddenly I'm listening to a record that is packed to the brim with pressure and interesting melodies.
Sometimes I feel like I'm flying through space and discovering new dimensions, sometimes I fall on my back into the depths. There are many moods and it took me some time to tune in to the same wave. The great thing is that even after a long time there is something to discover on the record. Each time another previously unheard motif comes to the surface. It's colorful death metal, wrapped in such a strange restlessness. The music might suit fans of EDGE OF SANITY, AFFLICTED, DISHARMONIC ORCHESTRA, CARBONIZED, MORBUS CHRON, SWELLING REPULSION, FLOATING and others who are not afraid to look for new corners in death metal. It's true that some of the songs are perhaps a bit too long, but take that more as a sigh from an old dog than as a fundamental comment. The strength of this record lies elsewhere. For FEBRUUS have their own unmistakable signature. Some passages are venomous, but you'll also find a coolness and a necessary darkness. Andreas Karlsson likes to go in different directions, he is like a musical explorer. At the same time (and this is very important for me), "Surveillance Orgy" is really good to listen to. It does take patience and the music is not for everyone, but that's the way it should be. Sometimes, when I'm wandering the endless corridors of the underground, I try to scream into the silence. A cold and dark trip through the death metal galaxy! Space dust from other dimensions!
