Vždycky je nechával ještě trošku žít. Zohavené, ponížené. Bez očí i uší. Pozoroval je. Jak pláčou a trpí, jak marně hledají záchranu. Ve válce by byl možná i za hrdinu. Záleželo by, na jaké straně by stál a bojoval. Svět je někdy hodně krutý, zlý a ošklivý. Snažíme se před špatnými věcmi zavírat oči. Vytěsnit je, zapomenout na ně. Jenže ony se vracejí. Ve vzpomínkách, v nočních můrách. Byl znovu na lovu. Usmíval se. Jeho nikdy nedostanou.

Jako v hororovém filmu si připadám i při poslechu nové desky bulharských brutálních death metalistů ENTHRALLMENT. Ti letos přicházejí s pokračováním nahrávky "Against the Will to Live - Sky Burial" (2021). Šílený vrah zase obchází kolem a ulicemi zní nové skladby. Krutost, šílenství, death metal!


Na ENTHRALLMENT se mi vždy líbilo, že dokáží do svých alb propašovat takový ten staroškolský feeling. Umí být hodně brutální, techničtí, ale nezapomínají ani na atmosféru. Ta je laděná samozřejmě do pestré palety černých a krvavých barev. Jako bych se opravdu procházel špinavými ulicemi na okraji vašeho města. Stahují se sem podivní lidé. Mnozí připomínají už dávno zombie a tak nikomu chybět nebudou. Nálada je na desce hodně podobná. Pochmurná, děsivá. Vše je napsáno velmi surově, syrově. S parádním zvukem i obalem. Některé postupy byly inspirovány smečkami jako IMMOLATION, INCANTATION, MORBID ANGEL, SUFFOCATION. Bulhaři ale samozřejmě původní myšlenky dále rozvíjejí a vy si tak můžete užít opravdu hodně jedovatý a drásavý smrtící kov. Schránka, ve které byly uloženy starodávné choroby, byla znovu otevřena. Po ulicích chodí čím dál tím víc oživlých mrtvol. Během celého poslechu mám pocit, že mi na prsou stojí šílená bestie a tlačí mi na srdce okovanou botou. "Against The Will To Live - Macabre Universe Embrace" je tak pro mě velmi povedenou záležitostí, kterou lze jenom doporučit. Temné, záhrobní vibrace, které snad nejsou ani z našeho světa. Smrt a nekonečná tma! Masivní, brutální death metalové tsunami!

Depending on which side he fought on. The world can be a very cruel, mean and ugly place. We try to turn a blind eye to the bad things. To push them out, forget about them. But they come back. I feel like in a horror movie listening to the new album of Bulgarian brutal death metallers ENTHRALLMENT. They come this year with the sequel to "Against the Will to Live - Sky Burial" (2021). The mad killer is circling around again and new songs sound through the streets. Cruelty, madness, death metal!


What I've always liked about ENTHRALLMENT is that they can sneak that old school feeling into their albums. They can be very brutal, technical, but they don't forget about the atmosphere. It's of course in a colourful palette of black and blood. It's like really walking through the dirty streets on the outskirts of your city. Strange people are flocking here. Many of them look like zombies, so no one will miss them. The mood on the record is very similar. Gloomy, eerie. It's all written in a very raw, brutal way. With great sound and cover art. Some techniques were inspired by bands like IMMOLATION, INCANTATION, MORBID ANGEL, SUFFOCATION. But of course the Bulgarians develop the original ideas further and you can enjoy a lot of really poisonous and scratchy death metal. The box in which the ancient diseases were stored has been reopened. More and more reanimated corpses are walking the streets. During the whole listening I feel like a mad beast is standing on my chest and pressing on my heart with a shod boot. "Against The Will To Live - Macabre Universe Embrace" is thus a very successful affair for me, which can only be recommended. Dark, otherworldly vibes that are perhaps not even of our world. Death and endless darkness! Massive, brutal death metal tsunami!

Jedna rána střídá druhou, tvůj protivník nezná slitování. Vzduchem se vznáší adrenalin a nenávist. Ne, tohle není žádný souboj v ringu, ale špinavá rvačka na ulici. Zvuk zlomeného žebra, nemůžeš se nadechnout. Několikrát se zvedneš, máš v sobě pořád srdce bojovníka. Jenže pak někdo vytáhne nůž a břichem ti projede neskutečná bolest. Padáš k zemi a pohled ti zakryje krvavá mlha.

S tvorbou bulharských ENTHRALLMENT jsem se několikrát setkal již v minulosti. Dokonce jsme s touhle maniakální kapelou dělali i rozhovor (odkazy dole pod článkem). Vždy se mi na nich líbilo, že je jejich death metal uvěřitelný, špinavý, stejně jako přepadení v temné ulici na periferii vašeho města. 


I na novince "Against the Will to Live - Sky Buria" nalezneme klasické brutální death metalové postupy, spoustu černých nálad. Bolestivé riffy, připomínající asi nejvíc rezavé hřeby, které vám někdo palicí zatlouká do hlavy, mě baví. Stejně jako hra bicích, mocný vokál. Vše sedí krásně na svých místech. Morbidní pasáže se střídají s těmi ohavnými. Americká, surová škola, se zde potkává s tou melodičtější, evropskou. ENTHRALLMENT se povedlo vše umíchat v pořádně jedovatý koktejl. Líbí se mi, že má kapela svůj vlastní výraz, je jasně rozpoznatelná již podle prvních tónů. Hodně tomu přispívá čitelný a chladný zvuk. Pocit z celé desky je pochmurný, jakoby pánové přetransformovali strach do svých songů. Pro nás, staré death metalové psy, kteří začínali (stejně jako kapela) s tímto stylem v dávných časech, je novinka velmi dobrou záležitostí. Na nahrávce se pořád něco děje, podmaní si vás, strhne do hlubin. Je negací všeho dobrého, je hudebním násilným činem. Při poslechu si připadám jako v ringu, kde se nehraje podle pravidel. Cítím pach krve, poslouchám stále dokola "Against the Will to Live - Sky Buria" a užívám si morbidní melodie. Mám rozsekaný obličej, ruce od krve. Smrt čeká a brousí si svoji kosu. Zničující, temný death metal s podmanivou atmosférou!

One blow replaces another, your opponent knows no mercy. Adrenaline and hatred float through the air. No, this is not a fight in the ring, but a dirty fight on the street. The sound of a broken rib, you can't breathe. You get up a few times, you still have the heart of a warrior in you. But then someone pulls out a knife and incredible pain passes through your stomach. You fall to the ground and your gaze is obscured by a bloody mist.

I have encountered the creation of Bulgarian ENTHRALLMENT several times in the past. We even had an interview with this manic band (links below the article). I've always liked them for making their death metal believable, dirty, as well as being attacked in a dark street on the outskirts of your city.

Even on the novelty "Against the Will to Live - Sky Burial" we can find classic brutal death metal techniques, a lot of black moods. I enjoy painful riffs, reminiscent of perhaps the most rusty nails that someone punches in the head with a stick. Like a drum game, powerful vocals. Everything sits beautifully in its places. Morbid passages alternate with abominable ones. An American, raw school meets a more melodic, European one. ENTHRALLMENT managed to mix everything into a really poisonous cocktail. I like that the band has its own expression, it is clearly recognizable from the first tones. Legible and cool sound contributes a lot. The feeling from the whole album is gloomy, as if the gentlemen have transformed fear into their songs. For us, old death metal dogs who started (as well as a band) with this style in ancient times, news is a very good thing. There's always something going on on the record, it will conquer you, it will take you to the depths. It is a negation of all good, it is a musical act of violence. When listening, I feel like in a ring where you don't play by the rules. I smell blood, I listen to "Against the Will to Live - Sky Buria" all the time and I enjoy morbid melodies. My face is amputated, my hands covered in blood. Death awaits and grinds his scythe. Destructive, dark death metal with a captivating atmosphere!
