Někdy se mi začne do podvědomí vkrádat podivný neklid. Navenek to vypadá, že se vůbec nic neděje, že vše běží jako normálně, ale uvnitř mám pocit, že ve mě začalo něco hnít. Jakoby na povrch vylézaly pradávné strachy, pudy, děsivé zlo. Netuším, co je toho příčinou, jistý jsem si jen jednou věcí. Pokud poslouchám podobné nahrávky, jako je ta letošní od polských maniaků SUPREME VOID, mrazí mě v kostech. Poláci letos přicházejí se svým prvním dlouhohrajícím albem, které je po okraj narvané zajímavými melodiemi, krutými nápady i tajemnou, špinavou aurou.

Mívám tak znovu děsivé noční můry, vnímám totiž každou dobrou muziku nejen ušima, ale i srdcem a všemi póry svého těla. Procházím se tedy znovu temnými ulicemi, poslouchám stále dokola tohle album a užívám si technické i disonantní pasáže. Pánové na to jdou krutě, ošklivě a věřím jim každou notu, každý tón. Smrt je zase jednou hodně blízko.

Je prostým faktem, že na muziku potřebuji klid, nejlépe zhasnutá světla. Nechávám ji na sebe jen tak působit, stávám se její součástí. Tentokrát se kývám spokojeně do rytmu, užívám si jednotlivé nuance. Za velmi povedený považuji zvuk (Scott Elliott at Chernobyl Audio) i motiv na obalu, který je plný utrpení všedních dní. Autorem je Michal "Xaay" Loranc a jeho dílo krásně morbidně doplňuje celkový dojem z nahrávky. Pokud se jedná o hudbu samotnou, tak je volně inspirována kapelami jako ULCERATE, GORGUTS, HATE, DEATHSPELL OMEGA, PORTAL, IMMOLATION, MITOCHONDRION, AD NAUSEAM, ABYSSAL, CIGAN, PHOBOSCOSM, ARTIFICIAL BRAIN. Pokud tedy máte tuhle odrůdu smrtícího kovu rádi, jste zde správně. "Towards Oblivion" je pro mě ale hlavně albem, které má zvláštní, podmanivou a neklidnou atmosféru. Jako bych se procházel naprostou tmou, ve smradlavých močálech. Stačí jedna malá chyba a stanu se utopencem, kteří se vznáší všude kolem. Začnu se dusit, topit, nechám se vtahovat do hlubiny. Nová deska na mě působí stejným dojmem. Oceňuji, že technické prvky jsou dávkovány s citem a rozumem, rozhodně se nejedná o dnes tolik častá a mnohdy zbytečná preludia. Naopak, na téhle nahrávce má vše své místo. Skladby postupně gradují, jsou jako jedovatí hadi, kteří se nejdříve plazí u vašich nohou, sledují každý váš pohyb, aby vás nakonec uštkli a vy zemřete v šílených křečích. Někdy se mi začne do podvědomí vkrádat podivný neklid. Navenek to vypadá, že se vůbec nic neděje, že vše běží jako normálně, ale uvnitř mám pocit, že ve mě začalo něco hnít. Jakoby na povrch vylézaly pradávné strachy, pudy, děsivé zlo. Intenzivní, temný a chladný, disonantní, technický death metalový opus! Neklidná symfonie plná stínů!

Sometimes a strange uneasiness creeps into my subconscious. Outwardly it seems that nothing is happening, that everything is running as normal, but inside I feel that something has started to rot inside me. It's as if ancient fears, instincts, terrifying evils are surfacing. I don't know what's causing it, there's only one thing I'm sure of. When I listen to records like this one from Polish maniacs SUPREME VOID, I get chills in my bones. This year, the Poles come with their first full-length album that is packed to the brim with interesting melodies, cruel ideas and a mysterious, dirty aura.

I'm having terrifying nightmares again, because I feel every good music not only with my ears, but also with my heart and all the pores of my body. So I'm walking through the dark streets again, listening to this album over and over again and enjoying the technical and dissonant passages. The gentlemen go at it cruel, nasty and I trust them with every note, every note. Death is once again very close.

It's a simple fact that I need quiet for music, preferably with the lights off. I just let it affect me, I become part of it. This time I sway contentedly to the rhythm, enjoying the nuances. I find the sound (Scott Elliott at Chernobyl Audio) and the motif on the cover very hilarious, full of the suffering of everyday life. The author is Michal "Xaay" Loranc and his work beautifully morbidly complements the overall impression of the recording. As for the music itself, it is loosely inspired by bands like ULCERATE, GORGUTS, HATE, DEATHSPELL OMEGA, PORTAL, IMMOLATION, MITOCHONDRION, AD NAUSEAM, ABYSSAL, CIGAN, PHOBOSCOSM, ARTIFICIAL BRAIN. So if you like this variety of death metal, you've come to the right place. But "Towards Oblivion" for me is mainly an album that has a strange, captivating and restless atmosphere. It's like walking through total darkness, in a stinking swamp. Just one little mistake and I become a drowning man floating around. I start to suffocate, drown, get sucked into the depths. The new album has the same effect on me. I appreciate that the technical elements are dosed with feeling and reason, they are definitely not the nowadays so common and often unnecessary preludes. On the contrary, everything has its place on this recording. The tracks gradually graduate, they are like poisonous snakes that first crawl at your feet, following your every movement, to finally bite you and you die in mad convulsions.
