Stačilo se jenom dotknout a rozpadla se v prach. Stará mrtvola, právě vytažená z hrobu. Rušíme zrovna jednu část hřbitova, aby se uvolnilo místo novým mrtvým. Vždycky to bývá zajímavé, číst si úmrtní listy a naházet různé předměty, se kterými byla těla kdysi pohřbena. Tentokrát se jedná o prokletou jeptišku, mučenou a zavrženou. Zajímavostí budiž také to, že držela v rukou debutové album britských maniaků RANCID CADAVER. Ihned jsem vložil desku do přehrávače a z reproduktorů ke mě začal stékat hnis.
Ihned jsem věděl, že tahle nahrávka je určena i pro mě, starého hrobníka, který nadále uctívá poctivou temnou a chlad, který rád a často navštěvuje ruiny a pohřebiště, opuštěné katakomby a klaní se reálnému, klasickému smrtícímu kovu. Stačilo několik poslechů a věděl jsem, že já i RANCID CADAVER jsme na tom stejně. Nové album je jasnou definicí toho, co se bude odehrávat i po vaší smrti.
Znovu a znovu se procházím temnými chodbami onoho světa a nechávám se unášet morbidními melodiemi, užívám si masivní a prašivý zvuk (Liam Graham - mixing, mastered by Ben Jones). Zmínit musím i velmi povedený motiv na obalu, díky němuž jsem si samozřejmě kapely ihned všiml (autorem je Adam Burke). Jakoby se kolem mě zastavil čas, zrovna jsem přišel v devadesátých letech z kina, ve kterém jsem zhlédl nějaký klasický horor. Otevřu si pivo a pustím si tuhle nahrávku. Ano, stylově se jedná o takový velmi uvěřitelný výlet po časové ose zpět. Nutno ale dodat, že pánové se zhostili svého úkolu opravdu svědomitě. Skladby mokvají zevnitř, mají v sobě potřebný drive, heavy efekt i sílu ničit. Pokud máte rádi kapely jako OBITUARY, MASSACRE, MASTER, MERCYLESS, BOTL THROWER, ASPHYX, AUTOPSY, INCANTATION, myslím si, že by se vám mohlo líbit i album "Mortality Denied". Jasně, nejedná se o nic nového v záhrobí, aneb všechno zde již bylo a málokdo je schopen přijít s něčím novým, ale to zde ani není účelem. Skvělé je, že se nejedná jen o dobře zahrané řemeslo. Těmhle prokletým gentlemanům se povedlo dostat do hudby ještě něco navíc. Mrtvolnou atmosféru, spoustu zajímavých momentů. Mám při poslechu opravdu pocit, že sedím v jedné staré hrobce, o které se říká, že v ní byla pohřbena prokletá jeptiška. Otevírám plesnivou rakev a z reproduktorů ke mě začne ztékat zkažená krev. Myslím, že jsem zde správně. Hnilobný, mokvající, shnilý a prašivý death metal, u kterého se rozpadnete v prach! Chladná definice temnoty!

It's always interesting to read the death certificates and pile up the various items the bodies were once buried with. This time it's a cursed nun, tortured and rejected. Interestingly, she was also holding the debut album of British maniacs RANCID CADAVER. Immediately I put the record in the player and pus started dripping from the speakers towards me.
I knew immediately that this record was also for me, an old grave digger who continues to worship honest darkness and coldness, who loves and frequents ruins and burial grounds, abandoned catacombs and worships real, classic death metal. It only took a few listens to know that I and RANCID CADAVER were on the same page. The new album is a clear definition of what will happen after your death.
Again and again I walk through the dark corridors of that world and let myself be carried away by morbid melodies, enjoying the massive and dusty sound (Liam Graham - mixing, mastered by Ben Jones). I must also mention the very hilarious motif on the cover, which of course made me immediately notice the band (by Adam Burke). Time seemed to have stopped around me, I had just come out of a cinema in the nineties where I had seen a classic horror film. I crack open a beer and put this record on. Yes, stylistically it is such a very believable trip back in time. But I have to say that the gentlemen have done their job really conscientiously. The songs are wet from the inside, they have the necessary drive, heavy effect and power to destroy. If you like bands like OBITUARY, MASSACRE, MASTER, MERCYLESS, BOTL THROWER, ASPHYX, AUTOPSY, INCANTATION, I think you might also like "Mortality Denied". Sure, this is nothing new in the beyond, or everything has been here before and few are able to come up with something new, but that's not even the purpose here. The great thing is that this is not just a well-played craft. These damn gentlemen have managed to get something extra into the music. A deadpan atmosphere, lots of interesting moments. Listening to it, I really feel like I'm sitting in an old tomb where it is said that a cursed nun was buried. I open the mouldy coffin and corrupted blood begins to flow from the speakers towards me. I think I'm right here. Rotten, swampy, rotten and dusty death metal that will make you crumble into dust! The cold definition of darkness!
