Když jsem nedávno odcházel z koncertu téhle smečky, tak jsem si připadal jako při velmi vydařené exhumaci. Byla tma a šel jsem dlouho lesem. Kolem hřbitova. Jednalo se o opravdu hororový zážitek. Měl jsem ve sluchátkách nové letošní album a chvílemi jsem měl pocit, že mi vytéká z uší hnis, krev a špína. Ostatně, tahle smečka se již nějaký čas pohybuje v záhrobí. A dělá to velmi elegantně a přesvědčivě. Pokud tedy rádi asistujete při pitvách a nevadí vám smrad rozkládajícího masa, pak jste zde správně.
MORBIFIC jsme se samozřejmě u nás na stránkách již několikrát věnovali. Důkazem budiž odkazy na recenze i report, které naleznete dole pod článkem. Nové album je opět potvrzením toho, že tihle patologové rozumí svojí morbidní práci. Ponořme tedy spolu zase jednou ruce po lokty do vnitřností, odřízněme lebku a pohrajme si s mozkem. Tohle je starodávný, surový death metal ve své zahnívající podobě.
Pitva byla zahájena s nadšením a odhodláním. A to prosím pěkně stejným způsobem, jako to uměly a umí kapely typu AUTOPSY, CARCASS, IMPETIGO, MORTICIAN, GRAVE, PURTENANCE, DEMIGOD, FUNEBRE, ABHORRENCE, FESTERDAY, PESTIGORE, UNDERGANG. Tedy, nic pro slabé povahy. Tady se opravdu tahají vnitřnosti z břicha, provádí se trepanace lebky, vivisekce a další věci, které můžete dělat s nebohým lidským tělem. Melodie jsou nasáklé krví, vokál zase chorobami. Výsledkem je koktejl, který ocení každý, kdo začínal s death metalem v devadesátých letech minulého století. Není to ale jenom obyčejné retro, jak tomu dnes někdy bývá. Naopak, Finové přidávají do skladeb své vlastní, velmi přesvědčivé ingredience. Poslech tím pádem připomíná buď hororový děj nějakého starého, klasického filmu nebo návštěvu nemocniční patologie. MORBIFIC pevně věří tomu, co chtějí hrát a dělají to dobře. Dali si pozor na zvuk, který je masivní, plesnivý a zadře se vám pod kůži. Je to samozřejmě hudba z toho nejhlubšího podzemí, z katakomb, ve kterých leží zohavená těla prokletých. Abych své pocity nějak shrnul - jedná se o poctivě zahraný smrtící kov, ukovaný z té nejkvalitnější oceli. V téhle desce je něco navíc, něco, co mokvá, co vás spoutá řetězy a přikove na zeď. Možná a nebo právě proto, už teď vím, že se k "Bloom of the Abnormal Flesh" budu rád a často vracet. Najdete zde totiž vše potřebné pro reálnou, hnisavou, smradlavou pitvu. Mám opět pocit, že mi z uší vytéká krev, hnis a špína. Mokvající, zahnívající death metalová mršina! U téhle nahrávky shnijete zaživa a rozpadnete se v prach!

The new album is once again confirmation that these pathologists understand their morbid work. So let's once again plunge our hands elbow-deep into the entrails, cut off the skull and play with the brain. This is ancient, raw death metal in its decaying form.
The autopsy was started with enthusiasm and determination. And please, do it in the same way as bands like AUTOPSY, CARCASS, IMPETIGO, MORTICIAN, GRAVE, PURTENANCE, DEMIGOD, FUNEBRE, ABHORRENCE, FESTERDAY, PESTIGORE, UNDERGANG. Well, nothing for the weak of character. This is where you really pull the guts out of the belly, perform skull trepanation, vivisection, and all the other things you can do to a poor human body. The melodies are soaked with blood, the vocals with disease. The result is a cocktail that anyone who started out with death metal in the 1990s will appreciate. But it's not just plain retro, as it sometimes is nowadays. On the contrary, the Finns add their own, very convincing ingredients to the songs. As a result, listening to them reminds one either of a horror plot of an old, classic film or a visit to a hospital pathology. MORBIFIC firmly believe in what they want to play and they do it well. They have taken care of the sound, which is massive, mouldy and gets under your skin. It is, of course, music from the deepest underground, from the catacombs where the mutilated bodies of the damned lie. To sum up my feelings - this is honestly played death metal, forged from the finest steel. There's something extra in this record, something that gets you wet, that chains you up and pins you to the wall. Maybe, or maybe because of that, I already know I'll be revisiting "Bloom of the Abnormal Flesh" happily and often. For here you will find everything you need for a real, festering, stinking dissection. Once again, I feel like blood, pus and dirt is coming out of my ears. Wetting, rotting death metal carrion! You will rot alive and crumble to dust with this record!
