Sedíš na kamenném náhrobku a marně se snažíš chytit vzpomínky předchozích dní. Zůstal si tu sám. Do kostí se ti pomalu vkrádá chlad a temnota je tvým nejlepším přítelem. Leží tu v hrobě, nedávno pohřbená a ty přemýšlíš, jestli bys také neměl přejít na druhou stranu. Svět ti stejně připadá divný, shnilý a často až příliš zlý. Nezbývá nic jiného, než projít krvavou mlhou. Zapínáš znovu play na svém přehrávači a volíš novou desku francouzských MORTUAIRE.
Tahle kapela se mi dostala do rukou při jedné z mých toulek v katakombách. Ihned mě zaujal stylový obal. Usedl jsem do křesla, zhasnul všechna světla a nechal se unášet na chladných vlnách řeky beznaděje a nihilismu. Novinka mě baví již od prvního setkání. Poslouchám ji stále dokola. Když v noci vstanu i když si jdu sednout na kamenný náhrobek.
Jedná se o staroškolský, chladný a syrový, zkaženou krví nasáklý death metal, s mlhavou, chladnou doomovou atmosférou. Zahraný poctivě, opravdově, s takovou tou divokou energií a drivem, který mám u dobrých kapel tolik rád. Máte rádi třeba takové DEMIGOD, AUTOPSY, BOLT THROWER, CORRUPTED, ASPHYX? Potom určitě oceníte i tuhle nahrávku. Francouzi si navíc dali pozor na dobrý zvuk, na produkci i již zmiňovaný motiv na obalu. Jako bych se procházel mezi ruinami kdysi živého města. Stalo se tu něco zlého, děsivého a teď tu můžete potkat už jenom stíny démonů a prokletých. MORTUAIRE sice vydávají svůj dlouhohrající debut, ale rozhodně se nejedná o žádné nováčky na scéně. Naopak, jednotliví muzikanti již působili ve smečkách jako Year of No Light, Bombardement, The Great Old Ones, Monarch! a Faucheuse. Je tedy jasné, že pánové přesně vědí, co a jak chtějí hrát. Za sebe potom musím doplnit, že se mi asi nejvíc líbí pochmurné nálady, které se celou nahrávkou prolínají jako jedovatý břečťan. Skladby se opravdu kolem mě nejdřív plazily jako nějací hadi, postupně mě uhranuly, podmanily si mě, dostaly se mi pod kůží a do podvědomí. Postupně se propadám do bažin věčnosti, zalykám se vlastním strachem, topím se a znovuzrozený mnohokrát umírám. Jedná se o opravdu povedený materiál po všech stránkách. This band came into my hands during one of my wanderings in the catacombs. I was immediately drawn to the stylish cover art. I sat in my chair, turned off all the lights and let myself drift on the cold waves of the river of hopelessness and nihilism. The novelty entertained me from the very first encounter. This is old school, cold and raw, blood-soaked death metal, with a hazy, cold doom atmosphere. Played honestly, genuinely, with that ferocious energy and drive that I love so much in good bands. Do you like DEMIGOD, AUTOPSY, BOLT THROWER, CORRUPTED, ASPHYX? Then you will appreciate this record too. The French have paid attention to good sound, production and the already mentioned motif on the cover. It's like walking among the ruins of a once living city. Something evil and terrible happened here and now you can only see the shadows of demons and the damned. MORTUAIRE may be releasing their full-length debut, but they are certainly no newcomers to the scene. On the contrary, the individual musicians have already worked in packs like Year of No Light, Bombardement, The Great Old Ones, Monarch! and Faucheuse. It is clear that the gentlemen know exactly what they want to play and how they want to play it. Speaking for myself, then, I must add that I think what I like most about this record is the sombre moods that run through it like poison ivy. The songs really crawled around me like snakes at first, gradually they enchanted me, conquered me, got under my skin and into my subconscious. Gradually I sink into the swamps of eternity, drowning in my own fear, drowning and dying many times reborn. This is truly hilarious material in every aspect. All demons and curses are guaranteed.
