Těžko se mi dýchá a každou chvíli mi praskne hlava. Už nemůžu dál. Stokrát jsem padl až na dno a pokaždé se zvedl a kráčel hrdě dál. Jenže teď už to nejde. Bolest mě pálí zevnitř, z vnitřností, v mozku a hlavně myšlenkách. Říká se, že špatné svědomí vás vždycky nakonec dožene. Jsem našeptávačem, jsem tichým stínem v záhrobí, který dokáže nasát veškeré vaše zlé myšlenky. Jsem stoupencem pekla, jsem démonem, ve kterého se jednou také proměníte. Jedná se o kapelu, kterou si s sebou beru pokaždé, když chci prozkoumat další temné kouty v záhrobí. Procházíme se nahrubo nasekanou tmou a do kostí se nám pomalu dostává nekonečný chlad. Potkáváme prokleté duše, které navěky bloudí mezi naším a oním světem. Pánové jsou velmi dobrými průvodci podsvětím. Jejich death metal je prašivý, surový i mrazivý, stejně jako atmosféra na tradičních pohřbech do země. Vítejte v márnici, ze které není úniku.
Kapela je nadále volně inspirována smečkami jako ENTOMBED, GRAVE, ASPHYX, PESTILENCE, MORGOTH, BOLT THOWER, DEATH, POSSESSED, samozřejmě s tím, že jsou přidávány vlastní nápady a invence. Old school death metal je zde pevným základem, na kterém jsou vystavěny další zajímavé konstrukce. Prašivý zvuk, obal s motivem démona, kterého můžete potkat i ve svých děsivých snech, skvělá produkce, ale hlavně vlastní rukopis, tohle všechno dělá z PYRE velmi uvěřitelnou, ryzí a skvěle poslouchatelnou muziku. Nejsou to ale jenom formální věci, bez kterých to samozřejmě nejde, ale hlavně schopnost napsat bolestivý, masivní a zcela zničující motiv. Ostré riffy se zde potkávají s mrazivým chladem čerstvě exhumovaných hrobů. Pokud máte tento mrtvolný styl rádi, pokud je vám nejlépe v dávno opuštěných katakombách a pokud vám přijde současný svět divný a prokletý, potom jste zde správně. V textech potom naleznete klasická témata o smrti, morbiditě i gore záležitostech. Zkrátka a dobře, bylo splněno vše potřebné pro to, abych byl já, starý hrobník nadmíru spokojen. "Where Obscurity Sways" se ihned stala jednou z mých nejposlouchanějších nahrávek a už teď vím, že to tak ještě nějakou dobu zůstane. Svět kolem nás možná často hoří v plamenech, ale na PYRE je spolehnutí. Doporučuji podávat spolu se shnilými kusy masa a nejlépe na víku od rakve. Těžko se mi dýchá a každou chvíli mi praskne hlava. This is the band I take with me every time I want to explore more dark corners in the beyond. We walk through the coarsely chopped darkness, and an endless chill slowly gets into our bones. We meet the cursed souls that forever wander between our world and the next. Gentlemen are very good guides to the underworld. Their death metal is dusty, raw and chilling, just like the atmosphere at traditional funerals into the ground. Welcome to the morgue from which there is no escape.
The band continues to be loosely inspired by such bands as ENTOMBED, GRAVE, ASPHYX, PESTILENCE, MORGOTH, BOLT THOWER, DEATH, POSSESSED, of course with the addition of their own ideas and inventions. Old school death metal is here a solid foundation on which other interesting constructions are built. The dusty sound, the cover with the motif of a demon you can meet even in your scary dreams, the great production, but most of all their own handwriting, all this makes PYRE a very believable, pure and great listening music. But it's not just the formal stuff, which of course you can't do without, but more importantly the ability to write a painful, massive and utterly devastating theme. Here, sharp riffs meet the chilling coldness of freshly exhumed graves. If you like this deadpan style, if you're most comfortable in long-abandoned catacombs, and if you find the contemporary world strange and cursed, then you've come to the right place. In the lyrics, then, you'll find classic themes of death, morbidity and gore. In short, everything needed to make me, an old undertaker, supremely satisfied has been met. "Where Obscurity Sways" immediately became one of my most listened to records and I already know it will stay that way for a while. The world may often burn in flames around us, but PYRE can be counted on. I recommend serving it alongside rotten cuts of meat and preferably on a coffin lid.
