Konečně si došel svého cíle. Trvalo to několik let, než si našel její hrob. Uprostřed lesa, s náhrobkem beze jména. Ptal si se pořád dokola proč, ale nikdo ti nedokázal odpovědět. Teď tu sedíš, pod stoletými stromy a vyprávíš jí svůj příběh. Mluvíš o strachu, o naději, o smrti, o bolesti, o hudbě, kterou si celou dobu poslouchal. Vždycky jste mívali rádi doom a death metal, vždycky jste se rádi toulali mlhavými rány.

Z nebe padá krvavý déšť a já poslouchám novou desku holandských tmářů OFFICIUM TRISTE. Kapely, kterou jsem si pro sebe kdysi objevil v jednom malém klubu. Hluboko v podzemí, jsem najednou ucítil, že vnímáme emoce stejným způsobem. O tomhle u mě hudba vždycky bude a už na tom asi nikdy nic nezměním. Novinka je dokonale vybroušeným, nejen stylovým, černým drahokamem. Poslouchejte v tichu, klidu, chladu a temnotě.

Vám, kteří máte tento žánr rádi, nemusím kapelu představovat. No a vy ostatní, doplňte si prosím hudební vzdělání. Klidně vám totiž podepíšu vlastní krví, že tahle smečka patří dlouhodobě k nejlepším tmářům. Dokáže totiž (a nové album je toho opět důkazem) navodit mrtvolně smutnou, přesto krásnou atmosféru. Jako když se díváte na list, padající pomalu k zemi, na usínající přírodu, na hladinu horského jezera, jako když kráčíte po starodávném hřbitově a představujete si osudy pohřbených. Těch přirovnání mě napadá spousta, moje mysl je během poslechu opravdu rozdrásána. Paolo Girardi vytvořil krásný obal, Erwin Hermsen (mixing, mastering) se postaral o mrazivě syrový zvuk. Hlavní jsou pro mě ale nápady, melodie, kterých je na albu "Hortus Venenum" opravdu velké množství. Pamatuji si je, rád se k nim vracím. Nejlépe brzy ráno, když pomalu svítá. Město ještě spí, ale les už dávno ožívá. Nasávám pach tlející trávy, jsem smutný a přesto mám naději. Fanoušci třeba takových SATURNUS, MY DYING BRIDE, NOVEMBER´S DOOM, SWALLOW THE SUN, DRACONIAN, OCTOBER TIDE, ke kterým bývají Holanďané přirovnáváni, mi dají určitě za pravdu, že oheň opět hoří jasným ledovým plamenem. Připadám si jako převozník přes řeku smrti. Plujeme po zpěněných vlnách, kýváme se do rytmu, moc dobře víme, že konec je blízko. Někdy bývám rád sám, jen si tak čtu nebo chodím prázdným lesem. V těchto chvílích vynikne nové album nejvíce. Je až po okraj narvané vším, co mám na hudbě rád. Je v něm chvění, tlak i energie. Křišťálově čistý doom death metal, který roztrhá vaše srdce na kusy! Dokonalá esence smutku, melancholie a chladné tmy!

Blood rain falls from the sky and I'm listening to the new album from Dutch darkies OFFICIUM TRISTE. A band I once discovered for myself in a small club. Deep underground, I suddenly felt that we feel emotions in the same way. That's what music will always be about for me, and I don't think I'll ever change that. The new album is a perfectly polished, not just stylistic, black gem. Listen in silence, calm, cool and dark.

I don't need to introduce the band to you who like this genre. Well, for the rest of you, please supplement your musical education. Because I will sign with my own blood that this pack is one of the best darkies for a long time. Because they can (and the new album is proof of it again) create a deadly sad, yet beautiful atmosphere. Like looking at a leaf falling slowly to the ground, at nature falling asleep, at the surface of a mountain lake, like walking through an ancient cemetery and imagining the fate of the buried. I can think of a lot of comparisons, my mind is really torn while listening. Paolo Girardi created a beautiful cover, Erwin Hermsen (mixing, mastering) took care of the chillingly raw sound. But the main thing for me are the ideas, the melodies, of which there are really a lot on the album "Hortus Venenum". I remember them, I like to go back to them. Especially early in the morning, when the dawn is slowly breaking. The city is still asleep, but the forest has long since come to life. I smell the smell of the melting grass, I feel sad and yet hopeful. Fans of such bands as SATURNUS, MY DYING BRIDE, NOVEMBER'S DOOM, SWALLOW THE SUN, DRACONIAN, OCTOBER TIDE, to which the Dutch are often compared, will surely tell me that the fire is burning again with a bright icy flame. I feel like a ferryman across the river of death. We float on the foamy waves, swaying to the rhythm, knowing full well that the end is near. Sometimes I like to be alone, just reading or walking through the empty woods. It's in these moments that the new album stands out the most. It's packed to the brim with everything I love about music. There's a tingle, a pressure, an energy. Crystal clear doom death metal that will rip your heart to shreds! The perfect essence of sadness, melancholy and cold darkness!
