I pod naším městem je hnusná a špinavá stoka, ve které pluje všechno, co lidé nepotřebují. Komplikovaný systém kanalizace ústí do řeky, ve které plují ryby se třemi oky na hlavě. Někdy, když se kolem procházím a poslouchám novou desku francouzských brutalistů UPPER DECKER, mám pocit, že je můj mozek zastřený děsivými halucinacemi. Ze stoky ke mě lezou šílené a krvelačné příšery, které mě chtějí sežrat. Smrt je velmi blízko a líbí se mi nadsázka, se kterou pánové ke své morbidní hudbě přistupují.

Jejich hudba není nic nového, ani převratného, ale pořád se v ní něco děje. Kapela se nebojí kombinovat klasický, tradiční brutální death metal s grindem. Zazní i thrash metalové odkazy. Výsledný koktejl je jako smradlavé zvratky, které naleznete všude kolem, když se akce opravdu vydařila. Pánové se neberou vážně, ale dali si pozor na všechny důležité věci jako zvuk, produkci. Zaujme i krásně morbidní obal.

Vlastně není třeba dodávat nic dalšího. Pokud vás extrémní styly baví, určitě si tyhle maniaky poslechněte. Pokud ne, tak běžte pryč. Doplním tedy i nějakou kritiku, když jinak nedáte. V některých momentech mi přijdou skladby možná až příliš dlouhé a monotónní. Nutno ale rovnou dodat, že se nejedná o nic rušivého. Podmínkou je samozřejmě vaše vstřícnost k brutálnímu death metalu. Jedná se o velmi hluboký underground. O hudbu, která patří na staré pitevny, na opuštěná jatka, do kafilerie. A také do již zmiňované stoky, která smrdí hnilobou a lidskou špínou. Pro mě je zásadní, že jsou UPPER DECKER opravdoví, reální, uvěřitelní. Navíc mě baví jejich nové album "Family Dinner" poslouchat. Vracel jsem se k němu nejvíc právě ve chvílích, kdy jsem končil v práci a potřeboval jsem si vyčistit hlavu. Zajímavé je, že moje kroky nakonec vedly pokaždé do kanalizace, do temných smradlavých koutů. Dívám se rád do tmy a odstřižen od okolního světa se kývám do rytmu. Vlastně by se také dalo napsat, že jsem od téhle desky nečekal nic a dostal jsem pořádnou porci syrového masa. Na téhle nahrávce najdete spoustu krutých odkazů na pobublávající krev z proříznuté tepny. Abych to všechno nějak na závěr shrnul, Francouzi vám nakopou zadky a udělají to velmi elegantně a zkušeně. Nechte si chutnat, podávány jsou ty nejshnilejší kousky masa. Ze stoky ke mě lezou šílené a krvelačné příšery, které mě chtějí sežrat. Smrt je velmi blízko. Brutální death metal s hnilobným odérem! Masakr ve staré smradlavé stoce!

Even under our city there is a filthy and dirty sewer, in which everything people don't need floats. The complicated sewer system empties into a river where fish swim with three eyes on their heads. Sometimes, when I walk around and listen to the new album by French brutalists UPPER DECKER, I feel like my brain is clouded by terrifying hallucinations. Crazy, bloodthirsty monsters are crawling out of the sewer to eat me. Death is very close and I like the exaggeration with which the gentlemen approach their morbid music.

Their music is nothing new or groundbreaking, but it still has something going on. The band is not afraid to combine classic, traditional brutal death metal with grind. There are also thrash metal references. The resulting cocktail is like the smelly vomit you find all around when the action is really good. The gentlemen don't take themselves seriously, but they have paid attention to all the important things like sound, production. Even the beautifully morbid cover art is striking.

Actually, there is nothing more to add. If you're into extreme styles, definitely give these maniacs a listen. If not, get out. So I'll add some criticism if you don't give it otherwise. At some points I find the songs maybe a bit too long and monotonous. But it must be added that it is nothing disturbing. Of course, the condition is your friendliness to brutal death metal. This is a very deep underground. Music that belongs in old autopsy rooms, abandoned slaughterhouses, rendering plants. And also to the aforementioned sewer, which smells of rot and human filth. For me it is essential that UPPER DECKER are real, real, believable. Plus, I enjoy listening to their new album "Family Dinner". I kept coming back to it the most just when I was finishing work and needed to clear my head. Interestingly, my steps always ended up leading to the sewers, to the dark, smelly corners. I like to look into the darkness and, cut off from the outside world, sway to the rhythm. Actually, one could also write that I expected nothing from this record and got a good portion of raw meat. There are plenty of cruel references to bubbling blood from a severed artery on this record. To sum it all up somehow, the French kick your ass and they do it very elegantly and expertly. Enjoy, the most rotten cuts of meat are served. There are crazy, bloodthirsty monsters crawling out of the sewer to eat me. Death is very near. Brutal death metal with a rotten odor! Massacre in an old stinking sewer!
