Všichni zůstali stát jako tichý stín. Nikdo nedýchal, neusmíval se. Uzavřeni ve svých ulitách jsme přemýšleli, kdy přijde smrt. Na povrch vylezly ty nejzvrhlejší lidské pudy. Temnota zase jednou zvítězila. Sedával jsem osamocený venku, na zakouřené terase a sledoval, jak svět pomalu umírá.
Doomová kapela SPIRAL GRAVE, mimo jiné složená z muzikantů IRON MAN a LORD, na svém letošním albu vzpomíná na ponurou atmosféru nekonečných dní covidu. Je to doom metal, ohlodaný až na kost. Naléhavý, zahalený do černého dýmu, smutný i bolestivý. Jako současná podivná doba.
Jasně, muzika, kterou tihle staří bardi hrají, je pro dnešního posluchače již značně opředena pavučinami. Jenže přátelé, já z ní stále cítím obrovskou sílu a energii. Heavy riffy, ostrý vokál, utíkající bicí, ale hlavně pochmurné nálady, které se vznášejí celým albem jako memento. Pod povrchem pobublávající drive a syrovost. Mám tenhle starý, pravěký doom metal hrozně rád. Kdysi dávno (ano taky už nějakou tu zimu pamatuji), jsem hltal desky od CANDLEMASS, SAINT VITUS, BLACK SABBATH, PENTAGRAM a pokaždé, když slyším podobné nahrávky, jako je "Ill Repute", tak se s chutí vracím po časové ose zpět. Není to ale jenom o nostalgii, nenechte se mýlit. Naopak, užívám si i teď, když je svět úplně jiný. SPIRAL GRAVE mají navíc velmi dobrý zvuk (Frank "The Punisher" Marchand - producer, engineerimg, Mike Monseur - mastering) a já si tak můžu vychutnat jednotlivé nápady. A že jich není málo. Poslouchám album už nějaký čas, rád se k němu vracím a raději jen tak sedím, dívám se z okna na ulici, než abych psal slova. Vždycky jsem chtěl mít na svých stránkách podobné nahrávky, protože je v nich i kus mě samotného, mých kořenů. Jsou opravdové a uvěřitelné. Jako samotná Smrt. Otevírám další knihu, ale nemůžu se soustředit na čtení. Raději přidávám hlasitost a čekám, až se pořádně setmí. Až spadnou mraky na zem a všichni zůstanou stát jako tichý stín. Nikdo nebude dýchat, usmívat se. Uzavřeni ve svých ulitách budeme přemýšlet, kdy přijde smrt. Na povrch vylezou ty nejzvrhlejší lidské pudy. Temnota zase jednou zvítězí. Ano, jsem zde správně, tahle hudba koluje i v mých žilách. Doom metalový opus, který vás nahlodá zevnitř! Beznaděj všedních dní!

Doom band SPIRAL GRAVE, composed of musicians from IRON MAN and LORD, among others, recalls the gloomy atmosphere of the endless days of the cover on their album this year. It's doom metal, gnawed to the bone. Urgent, shrouded in black smoke, sad and painful. Like the strange times of today.
Of course, the music these old bards play is already very much shrouded in cobwebs for today's listener. But my friends, I still feel a great power and energy from it. Heavy riffs, crisp vocals, running drums, but most of all a somber mood that floats through the whole album like a memento. The drive and rawness bubbling under the surface. I love this old, primeval doom metal. Once upon a time (yes I remember that winter too), I devoured records by CANDLEMASS, SAINT VITUS, BLACK SABBATH, PENTAGRAM and every time I hear similar records like "Ill Repute" I go back in time with gusto. But it's not just about nostalgia, make no mistake. On the contrary, I enjoy it even now, when the world is completely different. SPIRAL GRAVE also have a very good sound (Frank "The Punisher" Marchand - producer, engineerimg, Mike Monseur - mastering) and I can enjoy the individual ideas. And there are not few of them. I've been listening to the album for some time now, I like to come back to it and I'd rather just sit looking out the window at the street than write the words. I've always wanted to have recordings like this on my site because there's a piece of myself, my roots, in them. They're real and believable. Like Death himself. I'm opening another book, but I can't concentrate on reading. I'd rather turn up the volume and wait for it to get really dark. When the clouds fall to the ground and everyone stands like a silent shadow. No one will breathe, no one will smile. Locked in our shells, wondering when death will come. The most depraved human instincts will come to the surface. The darkness will prevail once more. Yes, I'm right here, this music runs through my veins. A doom metal opus that will eat you up from the inside! The despair of everyday life!
