Všichni čekáme na jeho úsměv. Až nám pokyne rukou a budeme moci vstát. Je tak úžasný! Hltáme každé jeho slovo, je pro nás příkladem. Budeme ho následovat, kam jen bude chtít. Milujeme ho, milujeme ho víc, než svůj vlastní život. Klaníme se obrázkům i sochám, na kterých je vyobrazen. Stačí, aby řekl a zabijeme klidně svoje vlastní děti. Nepřipomíná vám to něco? Neslyšeli jste to už někdy? Ano, psal se rok 1978 a Jim Jones, kazatel a zvrácený vůdce nařídil 900 lidem, aby spáchali sebevraždu. Kdo chtěl utéct, byl zastřelen, zbytek zemřel injekcí jedu.
Na DYSANGELIUM se mi vždy líbilo, že drží vlajku pravého ryzího death metalu stále hrdě vztyčenou. Textově se s tím moc nepářou, jdou na hranu, někdy i kousek za ní. Tak tomu bylo v počátcích tohoto stylu a poslední roky se to trošku vytratilo. Jakoby se kapely dnes bály kritizovat, říznout do živého, aby měly lepší dosah na sociálních sítích. Kapela je zpět po pěti letech, s novými členy v sestavě. Směr je stále stejný - old school death metal s chladnými melodiemi. Těch je dle mého ještě trošku víc než dříve a není to vůbec na škodu. Naopak. Každý song má v sobě zajímavý, dobře zapamatovatelný nápad, motiv, který se vám zaryje pod kůži.
Nějak se poslední dobou ze společenského života vytratily silné osobnosti, přednost má tupý dav bez tváří - tak si vysvětluji povedený motiv na obalu (autorem je Tom F. Hanzl). Líbí se mi, jak je album propracované jako celek. Cover, zvuk, texty, všechno sedí tak nějak velmi dobře pohromadě a působí na mě. Nenechává mě v klidu a nutí k zamyšlení. DYSANGELIUM se navíc nikam netlačí, jdou si svojí cestou, to už se taky moc nevidí. Pojďme ale k tomu nejdůležitějšímu, k hudbě. Na tu se občas zapomíná. Pochválit musím nejen kompozice, schopnost kapely složit dobrou skladbu (ano sešli se zde talentovaní muzikanti), ale i takový ten prastarý smrtící drive a sílu, kterou máme všichni na tomto stylu tolik rádi a proč jej posloucháme. Nenechte se ale mýlit, nehraje se tu jen pro staré pány v letech, kteří rádi nostalgicky vzpomínají. Naopak, nové album "Jonestown" je svěží a pestré. A tak jsem zase jednou seděl u svého přehrávače, podupával si nohou do rytmu (ano, bicí se také povedly) a kýval spokojeně hlavou. Jo, hergot, je to zase tam a zbytek jsou jen slova, kterými se vám snažím říct, jak jsem ke svému názoru došel. Tvrdím to často a klidně vám to podepíšu vlastní krví. Tahle muzika se musí hrát srdcem a to tahle parta zabijáků umí. Nová deska to jen potvrzuje. Přiznávám, trošku jsem se bál personálních změn, ale mé obavy byly zbytečné. DYSANGELIUM jsou zpět a jsou silnější než kdy dřív. Až jednou někde uslyšíte falešné proroky, kazatele s jedovatým úsměvem nebo znáte ve svém okolí někoho, kdo lže, tak mu pusťte "Jonestown" přímo do ksichtu. A to pořádně nahlas! Historia magistra vitae - historie je svědectvím času, světlem pravdy, životem paměti, učitelkou života, zvěstovatelkou dávných dob. Poslední roky mám pocit, že to přestává platit. Lidé jsou nepoučitelní. Jsem rád, že vznikají nahrávky, jako je tato. Dává mi to určitou naději. Starý, reálný a ryzí death metal, který nastavuje zrcadlo všem falešným prorokům! Budete spáleni na popel!

What I've always liked about DYSANGELIUM is that they still hold the flag of true pure death metal proudly raised. Lyrically they don't really mess with it, they go to the edge, sometimes a little beyond it. That was the case in the early days of this style and it has faded a bit in recent years. It's like bands today are afraid to criticize, to cut to the live to have a better reach on social media. The band is back after five years, with new members in the lineup. The direction is still the same - old school death metal with cool melodies. In my opinion, there's still a bit more of that than before and it's not a bad thing at all. On the contrary. Every song has an interesting, memorable idea, a motif that gets under your skin.
Somehow, strong personalities have disappeared from social life lately, and the dull, faceless crowd has taken precedence - that's how I explain the hilarious motif on the cover (by Tom F. Hanzl). I like the way the album is sophisticated as a whole. The cover, the sound, the lyrics, it all kind of fits together very well and works for me. It doesn't leave me in peace and makes me think. Moreover, DYSANGELIUM don't push themselves anywhere, they go their own way, you don't see that much anymore either. But let's get to the most important thing, the music. It is sometimes forgotten. I have to praise not only the compositions, the band's ability to compose a good song (yes talented musicians gathered here), but also such an ancient deadly drive and power that we all love so much about this style and why we listen to it. Make no mistake though, it's not just played for the old geezers who like to reminisce nostalgically. On the contrary, the new album "Jonestown" is fresh and colorful. And so once again I sat at my player, stomping my foot to the beat (yes, the drums were good too) and nodding my head in satisfaction. Yeah, hell, it's there again and the rest is just words to tell you how I came to my opinion. I say it often and I'll happily sign it for you in my own blood. This music has to be played with the heart, and that's what this bunch of killers can do. The new record just proves it. I admit, I was a little afraid of the personnel changes, but my fears were unnecessary. DYSANGELIUM are back and stronger than ever. Once you hear false prophets somewhere, preachers with a venomous smile or know someone in your neighborhood who is lying, drop "Jonestown" right in their face. Out loud! Historia magistra vitae - history is the witness of time, the light of truth, the life of memory, the teacher of life, the herald of ancient times. In recent years I have the feeling that this is no longer true. People are unteachable. I'm glad recordings like this are being made. It gives me some hope. Old, real and pure death metal that holds up a mirror to all the false prophets! You will be burnt to ashes!
