Nejraději měl, když se mohl obětem dívat do očí. Nasával pach smrti, jejich strach, užíval si, když pomalu umíraly. Když jste jej potkali, tak jste se museli usmívat. Byl okouzlující, milý, obětavý a vstřícný. Přes den. V noci se měnil v šílenou bestii, která se toulala ulicemi a hledala další kořist. Jakmile padly na město mraky, jakmile se setmělo, stával se lovcem, predátorem.
Nové album japonských brutalistů DEFILED je opravdu jako děsivý horor (jak již sám název napovídá). Tahle smečka je na scéně od roku 1992 a stále si drží laťku kvality velmi vysoko. Osobně se mi asi nejvíc líbí, že se pánové stále vyvíjejí. Jsou suroví, děsiví, technicky velmi zdatní. Jako perfektně seřízený stroj na zabíjení. Letos to novou deskou opět potvrzují.
Tokio, odkud kapela pochází, jsem nikdy nenavštívil. Znám jej jenom z krásných dokumentů. Dovedu si ale představit, že má asi jako každé město, i velkou spoustu špinavých ulic, smradlavé podzemí, hnus a zlo. DEFILED jakoby tohle všechno vzali a vytáhli na povrch. Japonci jdou jako vždy k samé podstatě death metalu. A dělají to velmi elegantně, zkušeně a inteligentně. Fanoušek dostane pořádnou poctivou porci syrového masa, které sice už značně zahnívá, ale to se nám právě líbí. Pokud bych měl tvorbu těchto maniaků k někomu přirovnat, volil bych jména jako MORBID ANGEL, CRONOS, DYING FETUS, MONSTROSITY, BRUTALITY, POSSESSED, DEATH. S těmi má kapela spoustu styčných a společných bodů a zároveň si drží svůj punc originality. Pokaždé, když tuhle smečku slyším, opravdu si přijdu, jako bych stál uprostřed noci v nějaké špinavé ulici. Stíny jsou dlouhé a netuším, odkud útok přijde. Jsem si jistý pouze s tím, že bude drsný a nekompromisní, krvavý a zničující. Stejně jako hudba na novém albu "Horror Beyond Horror". Tahle kapela se postupně posouvá, objevuje nová, dosud neprobádaná temná zákoutí, piluje svůj styl k dokonalosti. Má opět parádní zvuk (Sound Engineers - Shinichiro Hamada & Keisuke Hamada, Produced by Yusuke Sumita, Mixed & Mastered by Kenji Kikuchi at Studio Nest, Chiba, Japan) i zajímavý obal (Wes Benscoter). Zkrátka a dobře, na tyhle maniaky je spolehnutí. Nejraději měl, když se mohl obětem dívat do očí. Nasával pach smrti, jejich strach, užíval si, když pomalu umíraly. The new album from Japanese brutalists DEFILED is truly like a terrifying horror movie (as the title suggests). This pack has been on the scene since 1992 and still keeps the quality bar very high. Personally, I think what I like most is that the gentlemen are still evolving. They're raw, scary, very technically proficient. Like a perfectly tuned killing machine. This year, with the new record, they're proving it again.
I have never visited Tokyo, where the band comes from. I only know it from beautiful documentaries. But I imagine that like any city, it has a lot of dirty streets, smelly underground, filth and evil. DEFILED sort of took all that and brought it to the surface. As always, the Japanese go to the very essence of death metal. And they do it very elegantly, skilfully and intelligently. The fan gets a good, honest portion of raw meat, which is already rotting considerably, but that's what we like. If I had to compare the work of these maniacs to someone, I would choose names like MORBID ANGEL, CRONOS, DYING FETUS, MONSTROSITY, BRUTALITY, POSSESSED, DEATH. The band has a lot of points of contact and commonality with these bands, while keeping their hallmark of originality. Every time I hear this pack, I really feel like I'm standing in the middle of the night in some dirty street. The shadows are long and I have no idea where the attack will come from. The only thing I'm sure of is that it will be harsh and uncompromising, bloody and devastating. Just like the music on the new album "Horror Beyond Horror". This band is gradually moving on, discovering new, unexplored dark corners, honing their style to perfection. It has again a great sound (Sound Engineers - Shinichiro Hamada & Keisuke Hamada, Produced by Yusuke Sumita, Mixed & Mastered by Kenji Kikuchi at Studio Nest, Chiba, Japan) and an interesting cover (Wes Benscoter). In short, these maniacs can be counted on. He liked it best when he could look his victims in the eye. He could smell the death, their fear, enjoy watching them die slowly. As soon as the clouds fell on the city, as soon as it got dark, he became the hunter, the predator. Total, devastating death metal destruction! A raw, uncompromising attack from the cold darkness!
