Někdy si připadám jako mladý Alex z Mechanického pomeranče. Zavřený ve svém pokoji utíkám před hromadou informací, které se na mě valí za všech stran. Straním se lidí, mizím do podzemí, zhasínám všechna světla a poslouchám hudbu, která je jiná, odlišná, něčím zajímavá. Umírám a znovu se rodím, abych nakonec znovu vstal a bojoval za alespoň kousek normálního světa. Američtí CONSTRUCT OF LETHE jsou přesně tím druhem kapely, na jejichž nahrávky musíte mít čas, ticho a plně se soustředit.

Letos pánové vydávají své třetí dlouhohrající album, které je po okraj narvané zajímavými melodiemi. Jedná se o jedovatý koktejl, umíchaný ze surového death metalu, industrialu, blacku, ambientu. Zkrátka a dobře, pro poslech potřebujete mít mysl otevřenou a alespoň nějakou dávku fantazie.

Ve skladbách je něco neklidného, co lze velmi těžko popsat slovy. Připomíná mi to dlouho zanícenou ránu, která tepe a pálí. Žhne a chladí zároveň. Rozerve vás zevnitř, jako nějaký krvelačný červ. Myslím si, že tentokrát nemá cenu tvorbu kapely k někomu přirovnávat. Jejich muzika je natolik zvláštní a svým způsobem originální, že by má slova byla zbytečná. Zmíním snad jenom pár odkazů na MORBID ANGEL, možná i CADAVER. Co se týká formálních věcí, bez kterých to ale nejde, tak zvuk je velmi povedený, odtažitý a chladný, strojový. Obal (Kishor Haulenbeek) mě také donutil k přemýšlení. Chodívám každý den ráno cestou do práce kolem staré opuštěné tovární haly. Pokaždé, když album "A Kindness Dealt In Venom" poslouchám, tak si představuji, že staré rezavé stroje ožívají a touží po pomstě. Přiznám se, že na mě někdy tak působí i spousta dalších momentů v současném divném světě. U hudby se snažím vnímat její jednotlivé nuance, atmosféru, nálady, různá temná zákoutí a musím uznat, že CONSTRUCT OF LETHE mě rozdrásali do krve. Vzduch byl těžký a slunce pálilo. Představy starých autorů sci-fi se pomalu stávají krutou realitou. Sebevraždy jsou opět na pořadu dne. Na počátku byl chaos a bude i na konci. Naše duše už dávno opustily těla a vznášejí se někde v meziprostoru. Alespoň tak se při poslechu téhle desky cítím. Stala se na dlouhý čas mým průvodcem a přenesla mě do jiných dimenzí. Pokud máte otevřenou mysl, určitě tuhle nahrávku zkuste, stojí rozhodně za to. Nelze jinak, než doporučit. Mrazivé, temné, death, black industriální sebevražedné tendence! Podáte si ruku se samotnou Smrtí!

Sometimes I feel like young Alex from A Clockwork Orange. Locked in my room, I'm running away from the mass of information that is pouring in from all sides. I shun people, disappear into the underground, turn off all the lights and listen to music that is different, different, interesting. I die and am reborn, only to rise again and fight for at least a piece of the normal world. American CONSTRUCT OF LETHE are exactly the kind of band whose records you have to take your time, be quiet and concentrate fully on.

This year the gentlemen release their third full-length album, which is packed to the brim with interesting tunes. It's a toxic cocktail mixed from raw death metal, industrial, black metal, ambient. In short, you need an open mind and at least some imagination to listen to it.

There is something restless in the compositions that is very difficult to describe in words. It reminds me of a long inflamed wound, which throbs and burns. It burns and cools at the same time. It tears you up from the inside, like some kind of blood-sucking worm. I don't think it's worth comparing the band's work to anyone else this time. Their music is so strange and original in its own way that my words would be useless. I'll just mention a few references to MORBID ANGEL, maybe even CADAVER. As far as formal things are concerned, but you can't do without them, the sound is very hilarious, distant and cold, machine-like. The cover art (Kishor Haulenbeek) also got me thinking. I walk past an old abandoned factory hall every morning on my way to work. Every time I listen to the album "A Kindness Dealt In Venom", I imagine old rusty machines coming to life and wanting revenge. I confess that many other moments in today's strange world sometimes have that effect on me. With music I try to feel its individual nuances, moods, moods, various dark corners and I have to admit that CONSTRUCT OF LETHE tore me to blood. The air was heavy and the sun was burning. The fantasies of old science fiction writers are slowly becoming a harsh reality. Suicide is once again the order of the day. There was chaos in the beginning and there will be chaos in the end. Our souls have long since left our bodies and are floating somewhere in interspace. At least that's how I feel listening to this record. It became my guide for a long time and transported me to other dimensions. If you have an open mind, definitely give this record a try, it's definitely worth it. I can't recommend it enough. Freezing, dark, death, black industrial suicidal tendencies! Shake hands with Death himself!
