Bílé kosti, poházené kolem, jako nějaké loutky. I cesta může být cílem. Znovu sis sáhl na dno svých sil. Někde tam, za obzorem je světlo, daleko, hodně daleko. Necítíš chlad, necítíš žádnou bolest. Země je dávno spálená a lidská rasa odsouzená k zániku. Stačilo několik let a bojujeme o vodu, o holý život. Znovu uctíváme slunce, které nás dokáže zničit. Staré mýty ožívají. Stejně jako na nové desce slovenských maniaků. CEREMONY OF SILENCE. Kapela, jejíchž předchozí desku "Oútis" jsem rád a často poslouchal (recenze i rozhovor jsou odkazovány dole pod dnešním článkem), přišla s dalším zásekem.
Opět se jedná o majestátní a mocný death metal, ušpiněný black metalem. Disonance, chaos, pečlivě budovaná atmosféra. Tohle vše je potom podpořeno velmi dobrým, čitelným a drásavým zvukem (Miroslav Spevák, Colin Marston). Povedl se i obal z dílny Svjatogora. Fanoušek dostane komplexní, po formální stránce v podstatě dokonalé album.
To by ale nejen v dnešní době nestačilo. Jako vždy záleží také na tom, jak jsou skladby napsány a v neposlední řadě musí mít muzikanti talent. CEREMONY OF SILENCE si hrají s temnými náladami, jako šelma se svojí kořistí. Jednou jsou suroví, nekompromisní, najednou chladní a doomoví. Zpočátku se na vás vyhrne z reproduktorů lehce nepřehledá smršť různých motivů, které si budete muset časem utřídit. Takhle dnes hrají kapely jako ULCERATE, PORTAL, GORGUTS, DEATHSPELL OMEGA, AD NAUSEAM, IGNIVOMOUS, MORTIFERUM, FOSSILIZATION. Slováci, stejně jako jejich kolegové, rozvíjejí klasický smrtící kov, roubují na něj různé odbočky, vydávají se neprobádanými cestami. Technicky jsou to samozřejmě velmi zdatní muzikanti, kteří ale (na rozdíl od jiných) nezapomněli na to, že skladba by nám měla chutnat hlavně jako celek. "Hálios" je poctou starým mýtům, obřadem, u kterého hoří černé ohně jasným plamenem. Navíc, novinka každým dalším poslechem roste, stále objevuji nová temná zákoutí. Ze skladeb cítím napětí, neklid, ale také poctivé řemeslo, které nelze ničím nahradit. Svět se možná poslední roky řítí do záhuby, ale dokud budou hrát podobné kapely, budu rád tuhle hudbu poslouchat. Mám totiž pokaždé pocit, že Smrt stojí za rohem a usmívá se. Pro mě je vždy důležité, abych si s nahrávkou vybudoval svůj vlastní, osobní vztah, abych měl chuť ji poslouchat, vracet se k ní. Ráno cestou do práce, večer, než jdu spát nebo třeba i v autě, když je dálnice přede mnou prázdná. Bílé kosti, poházené u cesty, jako nějaké loutky. I cesta může být cílem. The band, whose previous record "Oútis" I liked and often listened to (review and interview are linked below today's article), came with another hit.
Once again it is majestic and powerful death metal, stained with black metal. Dissonance, chaos, carefully constructed atmosphere. All this is then supported by a very good, clear and thrashing sound (Miroslav Spevak, Colin Marston). The cover artwork by Svyatogor was also a success. The fan gets a comprehensive, formally essentially perfect album.
But that would not be enough in this day and age. As always, it also depends on how the songs are written and last but not least, the musicians must have talent. CEREMONY OF SILENCE play with dark moods, like a beast with its prey. One minute they are raw and uncompromising, the next they are cold and doomy. At first, a lightly uncluttered whirlwind of different motifs will be thrown at you from the speakers, which you will have to sort out over time. This is how bands like ULCERATE, PORTAL, GORGUTS, DEATHSPELL OMEGA, AD NAUSEAM, IGNIVOMOUS, MORTIFERUM, FOSSILIZATION play today. The Slovaks, like their colleagues, develop classic death metal, graft various offshoots onto it, venture down unexplored paths. Technically, they are of course very skilled musicians, but (unlike others) they haven't forgotten that we should enjoy the composition mainly as a whole. "Hálios" is a tribute to the old myths, a ceremony where black fires burn brightly. What's more, the novelty grows with each listen, still discovering new dark corners. I can feel the tension and unease from the tracks, but also the honest craftsmanship that cannot be replaced by anything. The world may be going downhill these last few years, but as long as bands like this keep playing, I'll be happy to listen to this music. Because I always get the feeling that Death is standing around the corner and smiling. It's always important for me to build my own personal relationship with a record, to want to listen to it, to want to come back to it. In the morning on the way to work, in the evening before I go to sleep, or even in the car when the highway in front of me is empty. White bones, strewn along the side of the road, like puppets. Even the road can be a destination. I've reached the bottom of my strength again. There's a light somewhere over the horizon, far, far away. I feel no cold, I feel no pain. The earth has long since been burned and the human race doomed. A mystical, majestic, powerful black death metal record that will take you through the darkness! You will be burnt to ashes!
