Rozhrnu stěnu z krvavé mlhy a vstoupím dovnitř. Netuším, co mě čeká, jsem si ale jistý tím, že musím přejít na druhou stranu. Do země nekonečných stínů a chladu. Umírám a znovu se rodím, stal jsem se postavou bez tváře, tichým našeptávačem. Pokaždé, když slyším nějakou dobrou death metalovou desku, ocitám se v jiném světě, v dimenzi, kterou pochopí jenom stejní fanoušci jako já. Na nové album francouzských kacířů SKELETHAL jsme čekali dlouhé čtyři doky. Mezitím uplynulo mnoho špinavé vody v řece Styx.

Jakmile mi přišlo nové album na recenzi, ihned jsem se zavřel do svého pokoje. Zhasl jsem všechna světla a nastavil hlasitost tak akorát, aby vynikly všechny nástroje. Stačilo několik prvních tónů a byl jsem mimo. Nové skladby mě strhly do hlubiny, rozemlely na prach a ten rozházely na bezejmenném hřbitově. Jsme stejné krve, já i hudba, stékající ke mě z reproduktorů jako černý hnis. Zhasněte všechna světla a zapalte ohně. Démoni jsou zpět!

Krvavou cestu těchto vyslanců temnoty sleduji od jejich počátků. Napsal jsem několik recenzí, máme společný rozhovor (vše je odkazováno dole pod článkem). Líbí se mi vývoj, směr, jakým se kapela vydala. Každé album je trošku jiné. Na novince se SKELETHAL opět posunuli. Nadále prozkoumávají temná zákoutí kovu smrti. A nutno rovnou dodat, že to dělají velmi elegantně a zkušeně. Riffy jsou nabroušené, jako kosa, kterou nosí samotná Smrt. Bicí duní, vokál je nasáklý chorobami. Vše drží perfektně dohromady, skladby mají drive a sílu, povedl se i zvuk a obal. Pro mě je ale hlavní celková atmosféra. Jakoby ke mě opravdu přišel démon z onoho světa, šílená a děsivá bestie, která do mě zasekla svůj dráp. Kolem mě létají mrazivé a pochmurné melodie, jako můra kolem ohně. Spáleni na popel znovu vstáváme. Také cítíte tu obrovskou sílu, kterou v sobě jednotlivé motivy mají? Sestupuji po schodech dolů do sklepa a zavírám za sebou rezavé dveře. Démoni už čekají. Ptají se mě, jak bych novou desku "Within Corrosive Continuums" popsal. Napadají mě slova, jako staroškolská, přesto svěží a nová. Se spoustou zajímavých momentů, obsahující velké množství černé energie. I cesta může být cílem. Stojím u vchodu do samého pekla a uplácím trojhlavého psa syrovým masem. Pouštím mu novou desku a on zalézá do své kobky. Pokud máte rádi kapely jako GRAVE, ENTOMBED, NIHILIST, DISMEMBER, UHLEASHED, CARNAGE, ENTRAILS, ASPHYX, HOODED MENACE, CIANIDE, je pro vás nová nahrávka doslova povinnost. Líbí se mi, že Francouzi pouze nepokračují ve stejných stopách jako jejich vzory, ale přidávají i velkou porci vlastní invence, spoustu nápadů. Novinka na mě díky tomu působí jako živoucí organismus. As soon as the new album arrived for review, I immediately locked myself in my room. I turned off all the lights and set the volume just right to make all the instruments stand out. All it took was the first few notes and I was out. The new songs took me down into the depths, ground me to dust and scattered it in a nameless graveyard. We're of the same blood, me and the music, dripping towards me from the speakers like black pus. Turn off all the lights and light the fires. The demons are back!

I have followed the bloody path of these emissaries of darkness since their beginnings. I've written several reviews, we have a joint interview (all linked below the article). I like the evolution, the direction the band has taken. Each album is a little bit different. On the new album SKELETHAL have moved again. They continue to explore the dark corners of death metal. And it must be added that they do it very elegantly and skilfully. The riffs are sharpened, like the scythe worn by Death himself. The drums thump, the vocals are soaked with disease. Everything holds together perfectly, the songs have drive and power, the sound and cover art are also successful. But for me the main thing is the overall atmosphere. It's like a demon from the other world really came to me, a crazy and scary beast that stuck its claw into me. Chilling and gloomy melodies fly around me, like a moth around a flame. Burned to ashes, we rise again. Do you also feel the enormous power that each motif holds? I descend the stairs to the cellar and close the rusty door behind me. The demons are waiting. They ask me how I would describe the new album "Within Corrosive Continuums". Words come to mind, old-school yet fresh and new. With lots of interesting moments, containing a lot of black energy. Even a journey can be a destination. I'm standing at the entrance to hell itself, bribing a three-headed dog with raw meat. I play him a new record and he crawls into his dungeon. If you like bands like GRAVE, ENTOMBED, NIHILIST, DISMEMBER, UHLEASHED, CARNAGE, ENTRAILS, ASPHYX, HOODED MENACE, CIANIDE, the new record is literally a must for you. I like that the French don't just follow in the same footsteps as their role models, but add a big portion of their own inventiveness, lots of ideas.
