Už zase hoří hranice. Prokletý naříká a dav se dostává do krvelačného stavu. Na povrch vylézají ty nejtemnější lidské pudy. Sedím ve starém archívu a čtu si o příbězích plných nenávisti. Poslouchám u toho nové album britských tmářů BLASFEME a jsem mimo svoji mysl. Jakoby se mi hudba dostala do podvědomí. Stala se mojí součástí, mým vlastním svědomím. Bál jsem se pochodujícího davu, děsivých zpráv v televizi, lekal jsem se stínů. Byl jsem prokletým, na kterého čekala hranice. Stačí ji jenom zapálit.
Black metal je náročný styl v tom, že musí být uvěřitelný, zahraný s nadšením a syrovostí. Tohle se podle mě nedá naučit, to musíte mít v sobě, musíte hrát srdcem. A to Britové umí na výbornou. Novinka je hodně neklidnou, naléhavou deskou. Potkáte na ní klasický, černou krví nasáklý metal, i tradiční heavy metalové prvky. Ohně znovu hoří!
Jedná se o hodně syrové, chladné a divoké album. Pánové na novince odkazují na kapely jako GORGOROTH, SATYRICON, NEGATIVE PLANE, CELTIC FROST. Jsem při poslechu opravdu v hlubokém podzemí, zavřený v temné kobce. Čekám na smrt, mučený a ponížený. Přesto jsem neodvolal. Boha jsem nikdy neviděl, ale Satan číhá za každým rohem. Zvuk, obal, celkovou produkci, vše považuji za povedené. Mohu se tak naplno soustředit na atmosféru, která je pro mě asi největší devízou téhle desky. A potom také to, že je nahrávka, i když svým způsobem neklidná, je také velmi návyková, ďábelská. Je ukována z té nejkvalitnější železné rudy. Jsem už starý pes (a píšu to v recenzích poměrně často, abyste věděli, že jsem na podobné muzice vyrůstal, že je mojí součástí) a stále se rád nechávám unášet na krvavých vlnách řeky smrti. Mám rád muziku, která ve mě dokáže probudit nějaké emoce, která rozjitří mojí fantazii. A tohle všechno umí BLASFEME na výbornou. Jsme jedné krve, já i kapela. Jasně, že pánové neobjevují nic nového, ani převratného, ale nové album "Black Legion" není jenom obyčejným řemeslem. Naopak, ve skladbách naleznete velké množství zajímavých a neotřelých momentů. Pro mě je potom asi nejdůležitější, že mě baví desku poslouchat a rád se k ní vracím. Pokaždé, když sedím ve starém archívu a čtu si o příbězích plných nenávisti, o Elizabeth Báthory, o jejím manželovi, o mučení a strachu. Už zase hoří hranice. Prokletý naříká a dav se dostává do krvelačného stavu. Na povrch vylézají ty nejtemnější lidské pudy. Chladný black metal, plný temných syrových myšlenek! Mučení nevinných duší!

The border's on fire again. The damned are wailing and the crowd is getting bloody. The darkest human instincts are coming to the surface. I'm sitting in an old archive reading about stories of hate. I'm listening to the new album by British darkies BLASFEME and I'm out of my mind. It's as if the music has entered my subconscious. It's become part of me, my own conscience. I was scared of the marching crowd, the scary news on TV, I was scared of the shadows. I was the cursed one, the one with a limit waiting for me. All I had to do was light it.
Black metal is a challenging style in that it has to be believable, played with passion and rawness. I don't think you can teach that, you have to have that in you, you have to play with your heart. And that's what the Brits are good at. The new album is a very restless, urgent record. You can find classic, black blood soaked metal and traditional heavy metal elements. The fires are burning again!
This is a very raw, cold and wild album. The gentlemen on the new album refer to bands like GORGOROTH, SATYRICON, NEGATIVE PLANE, CELTIC FROST. I'm really in a deep underground, locked in a dark dungeon while listening to it. I'm waiting to die, tortured and humiliated. Yet I have not recanted. I've never seen God, but Satan lurks around every corner. The sound, the cover, the overall production, I think it's all good. I can concentrate on the atmosphere, which for me is probably the greatest asset of this record. And then also the fact that the record, while restless in its own way, is also very addictive, diabolical. It's forged from the finest iron ore. I'm an old dog now (and I write this quite often in reviews, so you know that I grew up on music like this, that it's a part of me) and I still like to let myself drift on the bloody waves of the river of death. I like music that can awaken some emotion in me, that can stir my imagination. And BLASFEME can do all this perfectly. We are of one blood, me and the band. Of course, the gentlemen are not discovering anything new or revolutionary, but the new album "Black Legion" is not just an ordinary craft. On the contrary, in the songs you will find a lot of interesting and novel moments. For me, then, probably the most important thing is that I enjoy listening to the album and I like coming back to it. Every time I sit in an old archive and read about stories full of hate, about Elizabeth Bathory, about her husband, about torture and fear. The border is burning again. The damned are wailing, and the crowd is getting bloody. The darkest human instincts are coming to the surface. Cold black metal, full of dark, raw thoughts! The torture of innocent souls!
