Nejdříve nedokážu symboly rozluštit. Jsou namalovány s vášní a touhou. Člověk, který je autorem, musel zažít něco hrozného a děsivého. Sestupuji každý den několik metrů pod zem, hledám odpovědi na otázky. Podle legend se zde měly provádět krvavé rituály, plné nevinných obětí. Ve jménu všech bohů i démonů. Vše jsem pochopil až ve chvíli, když jsem poslouchal nové album řeckých FUNERAL STORM. Jejich black metal mě ihned smetl do hlubin a dostal se mi do myšlenek. Byl jsem proklet a přede mnou se začaly odehrávat starodávné příběhy plné krutosti a špíny.
Kapela pochází z Řecka a letošní počin je jejich druhý dlouhohrající. První, co mě zaujalo (kromě obalu), byly mrazivé a naléhavé melodie. Hudba mě ihned přenesla do jiného světa, do dávných dob, mezi padlé kněze i démony. Poslouchejte hodně nahlas, teprve potom vyniknou všechny temné nuance.
FUNERAL STORM jsou věrni tradicím své země. Ve své hudbě čerpají z odkazů ROTTING CHRIST, VARATHRON. Samozřejmě, moje přirovnání berte jako takové lehké připodobnění, abyste měli představu. Jinak jsou Řekové zkušenými a velmi dobrými autory. Skladby v sobě mají nejen spoustu zajímavých momentů, ale i jakousi těžko definovatelnou černou energii. Bez té by samozřejmě nešlo. Odlišuje dobré kapely od těch špatných. Novinka je hudbou, která je určena pro toulky v opuštěných chrámech, po starých pohřebištích. Motivy jsou tradiční, klasické, divoké a dobře se pamatují. Je pro mě čest se často vracet a poslouchat "Chthonic Invocations" stále dokola. Nejlépe v noci, když jsou stíny dlouhé a chlad se šíří ulicemi. Představte si kamenný oltář se zbytky zaschlé krve. Jakoby chtěl někdo oživit staré rituály. Nebo je to jen můj sen? Iluze, děsivá představa? Nevím, s čím jsem si ale absolutně jistý je fakt, že tohle album je velmi naléhavé, podmanivé, nebál bych se napsat magické. Pánové sice nepřinášejí nic nového, ale nijak to nevadí. Nová deska je jako zvrácená modlitba určená pro vyvolávání temných sil. Venku se setmělo a mraky jsou nízko. Z nebe prší zkažená krev. Mám pocit, že přede mnou ožívají staré legendy o pomstě nemrtvých. Atmosféra je velmi podobná té, která je i na téhle nahrávce. Nejdříve nedokážu symboly rozluštit. Jsou namalovány s vášní a touhou. Mysteriózní, magický, temný black metal který vás vezme na dlouhou cestu bez konce! Staré legendy ožívají a démoni touží po krvi!

I can't decipher the symbols at first. They are painted with passion and desire. The man who made them must have experienced something terrible and terrifying. I descend every day a few meters underground, looking for answers. Legends say that bloody rituals were performed here, full of innocent victims. In the name of all gods and demons. I only understood it all when I listened to the new album by Greek FUNERAL STORM. Their black metal immediately swept me away and got into my thoughts. I was cursed and ancient stories full of cruelty and filth began to unfold before me.
The band hails from Greece and this year's release is their second full-length. The first thing that caught my attention (besides the cover art) was the chilling and urgent melodies. The music immediately transported me to another world, to ancient times, among fallen priests and demons. Listen very loudly, only then will all the dark nuances stand out.
FUNERAL STORM are true to the traditions of their country. Their music draws on the legacy of ROTTING CHRIST, VARATHRON. Of course, take my analogy as such a light simile to give you an idea. Otherwise, the Greeks are experienced and very good songwriters. The songs have not only a lot of interesting moments, but also a kind of hard to define black energy. Of course it wouldn't work without that. It's what separates the good bands from the bad ones. The new music is music for wandering in abandoned temples, in old burial grounds. The motifs are traditional, classic, wild and well remembered. It is a privilege for me to go back often and listen to "Chthonic Invocations" over and over again. Best at night when the shadows are long and the chill spreads through the streets. Imagine a stone altar with remnants of dried blood. It's like someone wants to revive old rituals. Or is it just my dream? An illusion, a terrifying fantasy? I don't know, but what I am absolutely sure of is the fact that this album is very urgent, captivating, I wouldn't be afraid to write magical. The gentlemen don't bring anything new, but it doesn't matter. The new album is like a twisted prayer designed to invoke dark forces. It's dark outside and the clouds are low. The sky is raining bad blood. I feel like the old legends of the undead's vengeance are coming to life before me. The atmosphere is very similar to that of this recording.
