Jsou pozvání, která se neodmítají. Probudily mě uprostřed tiché noci. Všechny mlčely. Postavy bez tváří, šeptaly obrácené modlitby. O zlu, o nenávisti. Jejich kostnaté ruce mě drtily, pálily a chladily zároveň. Konečně jsme na místě. Vše je připraveno. Starodávný kamenný oltář, potřísněný krví desítek obětí. Všichni skloní hlavy k zemi. Už je zde, zvrácený kněz s rezavým nožem. Dojde mi to až příliš pozdě, já jsem obětí dnešního rituálu. Padám k zemi a z hrdla mi prýští krev na všechny strany.
Poslouchat nové album singapurských VRYKOLAKAS je jako se účastnit nějaké morbidní mše pro vyvolávání temných sil. Kapela datuje svůj vznik do roku 1991 a je naplno oddána démonům. Jejich hudba je pestrou směsí ryzího a prašivého deathu, black metalu, thrashe i grindu. Každý fanoušek záhrobí si najde to svoje. Peklo opravdu existuje!
Pánové vzešli z těch nejděsivějších koutů podsvětí. Hrají odhodlaně, syrově a jejich skladbám věřím stejně jako obrácenému kříži. Je to masakr, tsunami v márnici, je to vichr, který lze pozorovat na starých pohřebištích. Kapela si dala velký pozor na to, aby měla surový a živočišný zvuk. Nové album "Nocturnal Dominion of Death" opatřila parádním obalem (ano, takhle nějak si opravdu představuji peklo). Autorem je Andreas Christanetoff. Co se týká hudby, tak se ta se mi ihned dostala pod kůži, do mých nočních můr. Je totiž velmi uvěřitelná a přesvědčivá. Už jste se někdy dívali do očí oběti, které bylo před chvílí proříznuté hrdlo? Sledovali jste děs ve tváři i smíření se svým osudem? Tak přesně takové pocity mám i z nové desky těchto tmářů. Jsou nejen skvělými muzikanty a perfektně zvládají svoje hrobnické řemeslo, ale zároveň přidávají do skladeb spoustu černých ingrediencí. Vztek, touhu ničit hudbou, pohřbít vás zaživa, upálit na hranici. Jsme jedné krve, já i VRYKOLAKAS. Rád a často jsem se k nové nahrávce vracel. Důvod je zcela prostý a jednoduchý. Je totiž vynikající po všech stránkách. Každé společné setkání je pro mě srdeční záležitostí. Je to reálný návrat po časové ose zpět, jsou to zuřivé ozvěny z plesnivých katakomb, které byly od devadesátých let uzavřeny a zakonzervovány. Letos vydaly další svědectví. O bolesti, o smrti, o pradávných rituálech. Probudily mě uprostřed tiché noci. Všechny mlčely. Postavy bez tváří, šeptaly obrácené modlitby. Padám k zemi a z hrdla mi prýští krev na všechny strany. Jsem si absolutně jistý, že jsem zde správně. Tohle je hudba, která vás totálně zničí a vypálí vám cejch do vašich myšlenek. Ďábelský, syrový black death metal, zuřivost z těch nejtemnějších hlubin! Budete spáleni na popel!

Listening to the new album from Singapore's VRYKOLAKAS is like attending a morbid mass to summon dark forces. The band dates back to 1991 and is fully devoted to demons. Their music is a diverse blend of pure and dusty death, black metal, thrash and grind. There is something for every fan of the beyond. Hell really does exist!
The gentlemen came from the most frightening corners of the underworld. They play with determination and rawness and I believe in their songs as much as I believe in the inverted cross. It's a massacre, a tsunami in the morgue, it's a whirlwind to be seen in old burial grounds. The band took great care to have a raw and animalistic sound. The new album "Nocturnal Dominion of Death" has a cool cover (yes, that's really how I imagine hell). The author is Andreas Christanetoff. As for the music, it immediately got under my skin, into my nightmares. It is very believable and convincing. Have you ever looked into the eyes of a victim whose throat has just been slit? Have you watched the terror on their face and the resignation to their fate? That's exactly how I feel about the new album by these darkies. Not only are they great musicians and perfect at their grave digging craft, but they also add a lot of black ingredients to their songs. Rage, the desire to destroy with music, to bury you alive, to burn you at the stake. We are of the same blood, me and VRYKOLAKAS. I was happy and often came back to the new record. The reason is quite simple and straightforward. It is excellent in every aspect. Every meeting together is a matter of the heart for me. It's a real step back along the timeline, it's furious echoes from the moldy catacombs that have been closed and preserved since the 1990s. This year, they have given further testimony. Of pain, of death, of ancient rituals. They woke me up in the middle of a quiet night. They were all silent. Faceless figures whispering inverted prayers. I fall to the ground, blood spurting from my throat in all directions. I'm absolutely sure I'm here right. This is music that will totally destroy you and burn a mark into your thoughts. Evil, raw black death metal, fury from the darkest depths! You will be burnt to ashes!
