Představte si bouři, která vše očistí. Zůstane po ní jenom zničená země. Rozbořené domy, kusy mrtvých těl v ulicích. Už jste si mysleli, že všechno skončilo, už jsme chtěli počítat škody. Opak je ale pravdou. Další vlna, další přízraky s rozšklebenými tvářemi, které vám půjdou po krku. Už nikdy nenaleznete klid, už nikdy nespatříte světlo. Přesně takové jsou i mé pocity z debutového dlouhohrajícího alba řeckých KVADRAT.
KVADRAT znamená v uzbečtině náměstí. Autorem hudby a jediným členem kapely je Ivan Agakechagias. Nahrávka se mi dostala do ruky víceméně náhodou. Pokud si tedy myslíte, že náhody existují. Sedl jsem si, zapnul play a ihned se ocitl uprostřed divoké black death metalové bouře.
Jedná se o naléhavou, zpočátku těžce stravitelnou hudbu, kterou když budete chtít pochopit, tak u ní musíte přemýšlet. Je nutná určitá dávka fantazie, musíte mít rádi absolutní tmu, musí se vám líbit, když hudba pálí a žhne, když drásá. Poslouchat "The Horrible Dissonance of Oblivion" je jako se procházet v mlze. Uprostřed tajemných močálů. Našlapujete opatrně, stejně vás nakonec dostanou. Démoni na vás, stejně jako motivy z téhle desky, budou útočit ze zálohy. Vzduchem se vznáší mrtvolný pach. KVADRAT umí být zničující i záhadní. V některých momentech se vám dostanou hluboko do vnitřností, usadí se v nich jako nějaká starodávná choroba. Bez naděje, bez budoucnosti. Pochmurné nálady létají všude kolem, jako můry kolem ohně. Nakonec padají, stejně jako naděje, spálené k zemi. Máte rádi kapely jako ULCERATE, SUFFERING HOUR, AD NAUSEUM, DEATHSPELL OMEGA? Potom neváhejte ani chvilku. Budete nadšeni! Možná se vám některé motivy budou zdát příliš dlouhé a opakující se, ale dejte jim určitě šanci. Vše shnilé vyleze na povrch až po nějakém čase. Přiznám se, že na tuhle desku musím mít náladu. Musí venku pršet a být chladno. Otevřu okno a dívám se na tepající město pode mnou. V těchto momentech cítím z nahrávky velkou sílu, talent. Spokojený jsme i se zvukem (album si nahrával autor sám, o mastering se potom postaral Dan Lowndes), který je masivní, surový a čitelný zároveň. Černo šedý obal potom jen krásně doplňuje vše, co se na nahrávce odehrává. Představte si bouři, která vše očistí. Zůstane po ní jenom zničená země. Rozbořené domy, kusy mrtvých těl v ulicích. Už nikdy nenaleznete klid, už nikdy nespatříte světlo. Expresivní, disonantní black death metalová smršť, která vás smete z povrchu zemského! Zuřivá odpověď vlastním démonům!

But the opposite is true. Another wave, more ghosts with their faces scrunched up, coming for your throat. You'll never find peace, never see the light again. That's exactly how I feel about the debut full-length album from Greece's KVADRAT.
KVADRAT means square in Uzbek. The author of the music and the only member of the band is Ivan Agakechagias. I got my hands on the record more or less by accident. If you think there are coincidences. I sat down, put it on play and immediately found myself in the middle of a wild black death metal storm.
This is urgent, at first hard to digest music that if you want to understand it, you have to think about it. A certain amount of imagination is required, you have to like absolute darkness, you have to like it when the music burns and glows, when it scratches. Listening to "The Horrible Dissonance of Oblivion" is like walking through a fog. Amidst mysterious swamps. You tread carefully, they'll get you eventually. The demons, like the themes on this record, will ambush you. The stench of the dead hangs in the air. KVADRAT can be both devastating and mysterious. At some points they will get deep into your guts, settling in like some ancient disease. No hope, no future. Gloomy moods flying all around, like moths around a fire. Eventually they fall, like hope, burnt to the ground. Do you like bands like ULCERATE, SUFFERING HOUR, AD NAUSEUM, DEATHSPELL OMEGA? Then don't hesitate a moment. You will be thrilled! You may find some of the themes too long and repetitive, but give them a chance. Everything rotten will come to the surface after some time. I'll admit, I have to be in the mood for this record. It must be raining and cold outside. I open the window and look at the beating city below me. In these moments, I feel a great power, a great talent from the record. We are also happy with the sound (the album was recorded by the author himself, then mastered by Dan Lowndes), which is massive, raw and clear at the same time. The black and grey cover art then just complements everything that happens on the record beautifully. Imagine the storm that cleans everything up. All that's left behind is a ruined earth. An expressive, dissonant black death metal whirlwind that will wipe you off the face of the earth! A furious answer to your own demons!
