Těším se celý týden, až bude pátek. Až naruším stereotyp všedních dní. Obléknu se do džínové bundy a dám sbohem civilizaci. Lidé se na mě budou divně koukat, protože moje šedivé vlasy budou vlát do větru. Na zádech budu mít spoustu starých nášivek a ponesu v rukou kazeťák. Pokaždé dojdu až na hřbitov a otevřu si ve stínu stromů pivo. Leží tu mí kamarádi, se kterými jsme se kdysi toulali městem a poslouchali metal. Pokaždé jim řeknu, co je nového, pustím jim alba, jako je novinka od DARKTHRONE. Zavzpomínáme na staré dobré časy a domů odejdu dlouho po půlnoci.
Zbigniew Bielak namaloval parádní stylový obal, Jack Control opatřil desku dobrým masteringem. Co se týká hudby samotné, tak ta je určena hlavně pro staré psy, jako jsem já a mě podobní. Dostanete jedovatý koktejl starodávného blacku, thrashe i heavy metalu. Zkrátka a dobře, přesně tohle jsem od kapely chtěl. Moje přání bylo opět vyslyšeno.
Občas vedeme s nemrtvými o nových nahrávkách spory. V dnešní době se dostal metal už úplně někam jinam, než bylo původně zamýšleno. Muzikanti umí perfektně technicky hrát, produkce bývá umělá a fotky v lesklých časopisech hodnotí módní policie. Už dávno tomu nerozumím a ani nechci. Raději budu připadat ostatním starý a ošklivý. Hudba u mě vždycky bývala o srdci a DARKTRHONE to moc dobře vědí. Jejich nová deska je opět upřímná, zahraná s nadšením a pradávnou touhou ničit. Cítím z ní stále takový ten severský chlad, smrad z dlouho nevětraných katakomb. Mám to takhle rád, i když je dávno jasné, že pánové už nikdy nepřijdou s ničím novým. Komu to vadí? Naopak, buďme rádi, že ještě existují jistoty v dnešním podivném světě. Nové album se dá sundat (stejně jako cokoliv, co dnes vychází) několika ostrými slovy. Jenže mě novinka baví a rád se k ní vracím. Možná v tom je obrovský kus nostalgie a společný čas strávený u kazeťáku, ale to není zase tolik důležité. Už jsem dost starý na to, abych poslouchal jenom to, co se mi líbí. Když se tak stane, napíšu vždycky pár nesmělých slov. Hlavní je ale hudba, která se na "It Beckons Us All......." dle mého opět povedla. Představte si starou kobku a její chlad. Také cítíte mráz, co vám pomalu proniká do mozku? Pokud ano, tak se vám tahle deska bude také líbit. A teď už mi prosím dejte pokoj, ještě není pátek. Abych mohl narušit stereotyp všedních dní. Obléknout se do džínové bundy a dát sbohem civilizaci. I'm looking forward to Friday all week. To break the stereotype of everyday life. I'm gonna put on my denim jacket and say goodbye to civilization. People will look at me strangely as my grey hair blows in the wind. I'll wear a bunch of old patches on my back and carry a tape recorder in my hands. I'll walk to the cemetery every time and open a beer in the shade of the trees. There are friends of mine lying there, with whom we used to wander the city and listen to metal. Every time I tell them what's new, I play them albums like the new DARKTHRONE album. We reminisce about the good old days and I go home long after midnight.
Zbigniew Bielak painted a great stylish cover, Jack Control provided the album with a good mastering. As for the music itself, it is mainly for old dogs like me and my kind. You get a toxic cocktail of old-timey black rock, thrash and heavy metal. In short, this is exactly what I wanted from the band. My wish has been granted once again.
Sometimes we argue with the undead about new recordings. Nowadays, metal has gone far beyond what was originally intended. The musicians can play technically perfect, the production is often artificial and the photos in glossy magazines are judged by the fashion police. I don't understand it anymore and I don't want to. I'd rather appear old and ugly to others. Music for me has always been about heart and DARKTRHONE know that very well. Their new record is once again honest, played with passion and an ancient desire to destroy. I can still smell the Nordic chill, the stench of long unventilated catacombs. I like it that way, even though it's long been clear that the gentlemen will never come up with anything new again. Who cares? On the contrary, let's be glad there are still certainties in today's strange world. The new album can be pulled off (like anything coming out today) with a few sharp words. But I enjoy the new stuff and I like coming back to it. Maybe there's a huge piece of nostalgia and time spent with the tape recorder, but that's not so important. I'm old enough to only listen to what I like. When that happens, I always write a few coy words. But the main thing is the music, which, in my opinion, has done well again on "It Beckons Us All.......". Imagine an old dungeon and its coldness. Do you also feel the chill slowly penetrating your brain? If so, you'll like this record too. And now please leave me alone, it's not Friday yet. So I can break the stereotype of everyday life.
