Byl krásný mrazivý večer. Za hřbitovní zdí zapadalo slunce a v márnici byl divný klid. Sedl jsem si hned vedle jednoho starého náhrobku a přemýšlel, kdy zase přijdou. Navštěvují mě pouze v momentech, kdy poslouchám nějakou dobrou hudbu. Švédské CRAWL sleduji od jejich počátků. Vložil jsem jejich nové letošní album "Altar of Disgust" do přehrávače a nastavil hlasitost úplně doprava. Stačilo několik prvních tónů a začaly vylézat ven.

Odpadávalo jim maso od kostí a smrděly plesnivinou. Moje krásné zombie. Obrátili jsme všechny kříže směrem dolů a začali tančit. Všichni, živí i nemrtví, se usmívali. Tady se totiž hraje pravý, nefalšovaný švédský death metal. Exhumovaný v dobách, kdy tenhle styl vládl světu. Na mnoho let zakonzervovaný a letos znovu politý mrtvou vodou.

Ano, zazní spousta odkazů na kapely jako DISMEMBER, ENTRAILS, INTERMENT, GRAVE, BLOODBATH a spoustu dalších kolegů ve zbrani. Pánové ale samozřejmě přidávají svoje nápady a ingredience, které musí dělat dobře na duši všem, kteří rádi a často umírají podobným způsobem. Kapela se s tím moc nepáře, jde rovnou na věc. Klasický severský smrtící kov je okořeněn crustem. Výsledkem je nové album, které řeže tou správnou stranou nože. Vše sedí na svých místech a fanoušci si tak mohou vychutnat další poctivé drcení kostí. Zvuk, obal, produkce, celkové provedení, všechno je podřízeno jedinému. Totální destrukci! Mám rád způsob, jakým kapela přistupuje ke své morbidní hrobnické práci. Důkazem budiž odkazy na další recenze, rozhovor i report, které naleznete dole pod článkem. Opět se chřestí pytlem plným kostí a dělá se to velmi elegantně a se zkušenostmi starých mistrů v oboru. CRAWL patří k těm, kteří dále drží vlajku tohoto stylu hrdě vztyčenou. A dělají to velmi ostře, nekompromisně, přesto melodicky. Jsem již starý pes, který zvedne hlavu pouze v případech, jako tento. Hudba musí pálit, chladit i žhnout zároveň. Musí se u ní otevírat staré hroby a rakve musejí praskat tlakem. To tahle smečka umí a přidává ještě něco navíc. Koneckonců, jinak bych o ní vůbec nepsal. Život je krátký, vím to já, vědí to i všechny zombie, které vám, stejně jako já, mohou tuhle nahrávku doporučit. Je totiž po okraj narvaná prvotřídním rouháním. Byl krásný mrazivý večer. It was a beautiful frosty evening. The sun was setting behind the cemetery wall and the morgue was strangely quiet. I sat down next to an old tombstone and wondered when they would come again. They only visit me when I'm listening to some good music. I've been following Swedish CRAWL since the beginning. I popped their new album this year , "Altar of Disgust" into the player and turned the volume all the way to the right. The first few notes were enough and they started to come out.

Their flesh was falling off their bones and they smelled moldy. My beautiful zombies. We turned all the crosses down and started dancing. Everyone, living and undead, was smiling. This is real, unadulterated Swedish death metal. Exhumed in the days when this style ruled the world. Preserved for many years, and this year, poured over again with dead water.

Yes, there will be a lot of references to bands like DISMEMBER, ENTRAILS, INTERMENT, GRAVE, BLOODBATH and a lot of other colleagues in arms. But of course the gentlemen add their own ideas and ingredients that must do good to the soul of all who like and often die in a similar way. The band doesn't argue too much, they get straight to the point. Classic Nordic death metal is spiced up with crust. The result is a new album that cuts with the right side of the knife. Everything fits into place and fans can enjoy another honest bone-crunching. The sound, the cover, the production, the overall execution, everything is subordinate to one thing. Total destruction! Once again they rattle a bag full of bones and do it very elegantly and with the experience of old masters in the field. CRAWL is one of those who continue to hold the flag of this style proudly raised. And they do it very sharply, uncompromisingly, yet melodiously. I'm an old dog who only raises his head in cases like this. The music must burn, cool and glow at the same time. It must open old graves and crack coffins with pressure. That's what this pack can do, and it adds a little something extra. After all, otherwise I wouldn't be writing about it at all.
