Three notches in the clean skin. She looked like an unwritten leaf. So beautiful, so tender and innocent. I loved her, but I also wanted to destroy her. To torture her and finally kill her. So that no one would have her but me. We've been waiting ten long years for new music from GORGASM. We've waited. Although the fact is that three songs and just over ten minutes of brutality is simply not enough. You can't even take a breath and everything goes by. Like blood from a fresh wound.
I usually don't write too much about the various singles, splits and EPs. But GORGASM are such a fundamental band for me that I had to. I was listening to the new EP "Sadichist" and wondering where the evil in people comes from. That's the real, ugly, dirty evil. This pack is a benchmark of style for me, a band that simply cannot be ignored. The novelty has been good again, how else.
The fan gets exactly what he asks for. Massive riffs that roll forward and know no mercy. These tunes will blow your brains out. I like the cover art, it is as always appropriately ugly, disgusting and makes you feel the same pain as the music (by Jon Zig). I could imagine a slightly more massive, wild and powerful sound (Matt Kilner), but just take that as a reminder from a jaded fan. It's fine in headphones like this, but when you turn up the volume on a proper machine, the novelty just doesn't cut it as much. Otherwise, though, everything is absolutely fine. Classic riffs made in GORGASM, procedures like cut out of the textbooks that the gentlemen once wrote themselves. There is nothing to complain about (except for the fact that after all this time we only got three tracks). You will taste a good portion of ground meat. It stinks a bit, but we're used to that too. The critics would write that the band hasn't moved anywhere, but I think that's just as well. I don't want stylistic changes from them, but a proper smash, an honest grind that will grind me to dust. And that's what I got. I hope to see a full length album soon, I firmly believe in dissecting to the rhythms of new music from these madmen again. "Sadichist" is a good, honest taste. I'm ready for more suffering! Gore brutal death metal that will make all the blood drain out of your body! The carnage of the old execution rooms!
