Pokaždé, když se zúčastním jejich mše, chce se mi zvracet. Tolik lží, tolik nenávisti, tolik jedovatých slov. Pod krásnými úsměvy se ukrývají děsivá svědectví. O bolesti, o utrpení, o mučení těla i mysli. Klečíte před dávno mrtvým bohem a modlíte se způsobem, kterému sami nevěříte. Děláte špatné věci a myslíte si, že stačí, když odříkáte pár veršů a bude vám odpuštěno. Až na věky, amen! Jenže to není pravda. Jsou tu ještě stále kapely jako DEICIDE, které vám nastaví zrcadlo.

Glen Benton a jeho věrní jsou po šesti (666) letech zpět a opět kolem sebe plivají síru. Tahle kapela pro mě byla, je a vždy bude legendou. Patří mezi smečky, které mě přivedly k death metalu jako takovému. Mám doma celou jejich diskografii a líbí se mi nejen jejich stará klasická alba, ale i to, co nám předkládají na posledních nahrávkách. "Banished by Sin" se mi ihned zařízlo hluboko do mozku, přímo do podvědomí. Obraťte všechny kříže směrem dolů! Dráp byl zaseknut.

Od podobných kapel nechci a neočekávám nějaké stylové změny. U nové desky oceňuji masivní a ostrý zvuk (takhle nějak zní ozvěny ze samotného pekla! Josh Wilbur - mixing, mastering). Líbí se mi i motiv na obalu, ten démon je opravdu děsivý. Vím, že byl hodně diskutovaný a je vygenerovaný umělou inteligencí, ale to dnes dělá spousta kapel. Snižují se tím náklady, stejně se tomu do budoucna nevyhneme. Názor, ale ať si každý udělá sám. Muzika samotná je potom přesně taková, jako jsme poslední roky zvyklí. Syrová a drsná, s jasným a zřetelným rukopisem DEICIDE i těžkými melodiemi, kvůli kterým všichni tuhle kapelu stále posloucháme a máme rádi. Pánové se drží tradice, klasických motivů, u jejichž zrodu kdysi sami stáli. Je to málo nebo moc? Já jsem spokojený. Osobně si myslím, že je dobře, že podobné nahrávky stále vznikají. Jsem rád, že jsem dostal další hudbu z vypálených kostelů. Není to sice samozřejmě nic překvapivého, ani nového, ale také to není jen obyčejné řemeslo a rutina. Songy mají stále spád, jsou jako lavina, jako kus rozžhaveného železa, které jsou vám hozeny přímo do rukou i do obličeje. Popáleniny třetího stupně jsou zaručeny. Jasně, svět se dnes točí už dávno jinak, death metal se posunul úplně někam jinam, než původně bylo zamýšleno právě kapelami jako jsou DEICIDE. Jenže já jsem klasik, starý metalový pes, takže nemůžu jinak, než hodnotit vysoko. Pro mě vždycky stejně bylo u hudby nejdůležitější, jestli mě ji baví poslouchat. A k "Banished by Sin" se budu rád a často vracet. To už vím teď, stejně jako jsem si jistý s tím, že někteří kněží jsou hnusní bastardi. Chtěli jste nové DEICIDE? Máte je mít! Mocný, démonický, temný, ďábelský řev death metalové bestie! Spalte všechny kříže černým plamenem!

Glen Benton and his faithful are back after six (666) years and they're spitting brimstone around again. This band was, is and always will be a legend to me. They are one of the bands that brought me to death metal in the first place. I have their entire discography at home and I like not only their old classic albums but also what they present us on their latest releases. "Banished by Sin" immediately cut deep into my brain, right into my subconscious. Turn all the crosses downwards! The claw was stuck.

I don't want or expect any style changes from bands like this. I appreciate the massive and sharp sound of the new album (that's what echoes from hell itself sound like! Josh Wilbur - mixing, mastering). I also like the motif on the cover, the demon is really scary. I know it's been discussed a lot and it's AI generated, but a lot of bands do that nowadays. It cuts costs, we won't be able to avoid it in the future anyway. Opinion, but let everyone make up their own mind. The music itself is then exactly what we've been used to for the last few years. Raw and harsh, with a clear and distinct DEICIDE handwriting and heavy melodies that we all still listen to and love this band for. The gentlemen stick to the tradition, to the classical themes, which they themselves once stood at the birth of. Is it too little or too much? I'm satisfied. Personally, I think it's good that recordings like this are still being made. I'm glad to get more music from burnt churches. It's nothing surprising or new, of course, but it's also not just ordinary craft and routine. The songs have a constant momentum, like an avalanche, like a piece of hot iron being thrown right into your hands and face. Third-degree burns are guaranteed. Sure, the world spins differently nowadays, death metal has moved somewhere else than originally intended by bands like DEICIDE. But I'm a classic, old metal dog, so I can't help but rate them highly. For me anyway, the most important thing about music has always been whether I enjoy listening to it. And I'll be coming back to "Banished by Sin" happily and often. I know that now, just like I'm sure with the fact that some priests are nasty bastards. Did you want a new DEICIDE? You've got them! The mighty, demonic, dark, diabolical roar of the death metal beast! Burn all crosses with black flame!
