Mrtví opět šeptají. Ve vzduchu je něco zlověstného, zkaženého. Stará kobka, stojící už věky v rohu hřbitova, má otevřené dveře. Říkají o něm, že je něco mezi člověkem a zvířetem. Dnes v noci je na lovu. V dálce vyjí vlci a nad náhrobky se vznáší krvavá mlha. Včera tu proběhl jeden ze starodávných rituálů. Byly probuzeny síly, které nejsou z našeho světa. Okultní nálada je doslova hmatatelná. Chvějí se mi ruce a pomalu vkládám nové album irských VIRCOLAC do přehrávače.
Temnota, nekonečná temnota a chlad, napadá mě jako první. Jsem zavřený ve svém sklepě a poslouchám pozorně. Skladby se mi dostávají pomalu do krve a stávají se mojí součástí. Mám pro tuhle smečku velkou slabost. Líbí se mi, jakým způsobem přistupuje k hudbě. Důkazem budiž recenze na minulé album "Masque" (2019), která je odkazována spolu s rozhovorem dole pod článkem. Oheň byl znovu zapálen a katakomby otevřeny. Stačí jen vstoupit.
Stále mě baví navštěvovat staré hřbitovy, číst si jména na náhrobcích a představovat si, jakým způsobem lidé zemřeli. V některých obdobích lze vypozorovat velké množství sebevražd, v jiných zase morové rány, války. Lidská historie je plná bolesti. Cítím ji i z nové desky "Veneration". Pánové pokračují ve své tajemné a magické cestě. Skladby jsou po okraj narvané chladem a naprostou tmou. Odkazuje se v nich na kapely jako VENENUM, TRIBULATION, CRUCIFYRE, GRAVE MIASMA. To ale není zase tolik důležité. Hlavní jsou nápady, celkový dojem, který je i letos vynikající. Album se poslouchá samo. Nejdříve kolem mě jen tak plynulo, jako voda v řece mrtvých, ale postupně mě zcela pohltilo. Měl jsem pocit, že jsem se setkal s příšerou z dávných dob, která do mě zasekla svůj dráp. Zasažen snětí, hnisem a šílenstvím, jsem se nechal několikrát pohřbít zaživa. Teprve potom, ve studené zemi, bez vzduchu a slitování, jsem pochopil tuhle desku. Je určena pro všechny tmáře, přízraky, pro démony i samotnou Smrt, která je přítomná během všech společných setkání. K celkovému zpracování, ke zvuku, ani k produkci nemám žádných připomínek. Vše sedí na svých místech a potom je tu obal, který krásně vystihuje to, co se na desce odehrává. Už jste byli někdy u exhumace prokletého hrobu? Rakev byla opět prázdná. Poslední dobou se nám tu ulicemi toulá monstrum, bestie. Nezbývá nic jiného, než pokleknout a sklonit hlavu. Hraje se zde opravdově, upřímně a uvěřitelně. Mrtví opět šeptají. Děsivý, mrazivý death metal, magická ozvěna z onoho světa! Bolest a utrpení zahalené do temnoty!

Darkness, infinite darkness and coldness, comes to my mind first. I'm locked in my basement, listening intently. The songs slowly get into my blood and become part of me. I have a great affection for this pack. I like the way he approaches music. For proof, check out the review of their last album "Masque" (2019), which is linked along with the interview at the bottom of the article. The fire has been rekindled and the catacombs opened. All you have to do is enter.
I still enjoy visiting old cemeteries, reading the names on the tombstones and imagining how people died. In some periods one can observe a large number of suicides, in others plagues, wars. Human history is full of pain. I can feel it in the new album "Veneration". The gentlemen continue their mysterious and magical journey. The songs are filled to the brim with coldness and utter darkness. There are references to bands like VENENUM, TRIBULATION, CRUCIFYRE, GRAVE MIASMA. But that's not so important. The main thing is the ideas, the overall impression, which is also excellent this year. The album listens to itself. At first it just flowed past me, like water in a river of the dead, but gradually it completely absorbed me. I had the feeling that I had met a monster from ancient times that had stuck its claw into me. Afflicted with hay, pus and madness, I let myself be buried alive several times. It was only then, in the cold earth, without air or mercy, that I understood this album. It is intended for all the ghouls, the ghosts, the demons and Death itself, who is present during all the meetings. I have no comments on the overall processing, sound, or production. Everything fits in place and then there's the cover art, which beautifully captures what's happening on the record. Have you ever been to an exhumation of a cursed grave? The coffin was empty again. We've had a monster roaming the streets lately, a beast. There's nothing to do but kneel and bow our heads. The acting here is real, honest and believable. The dead are whispering again. He's on the hunt tonight. Eerie, freezing death metal, a magical echo from the other world! Pain and suffering shrouded in darkness!
