Představte si starý dům, temný a opuštěný, do kterého když vstoupíte, tak budete mít divný pocit. Začně vás mrazit v zádech a stíny se promění v přízraky. Podají vám ruku a pozvou vás dolů, do sklepa. Půjdete s nimi, jako omámení. Budete podvědomě vědět, že děláte správnou věc. Zastavíte se před rezavými dveřmi a v hlavě vám bude létat spousta otázek. Vezmete za kliku, ozve se děsivé skřípání a potom vás zahalí tma. Našlapujete opatrně a pod nohama křupají staré kosti. Slunce na konci tunelu. Jiný svět, dimenze, místo, na kterém se hraje jenom dobrá a zajímavá hudba.

Takové myšlenky mě napadaly, když jsem slyšel poprvé novou debutovou desku švýcarských maniaků DYSSEBEIA. Ti hrají death metal ušpiněný blackem, se spoustou progresivních pasáží. Hudbu téhle smečky nelze jen tak jednoznačně zařadit a je to dobře. Tady se hraje pro všechny fanoušky s dobrou fantazií a otevřenou myslí.

Nevím, jestli se vám to někdy také stává, ale já mívám často zvláštní sny. Hraje mi v nich muzika, kterou mám rád. Pokaždé, když potkám nějakou novou kapelu, kterou si postupně oblíbím, dostane se mi i do spánku. Bývá to pro mě důkazem, že se deska povedla. Musím cítit ze skladeb sílu, energii, musím si podupávat do rytmu a kývat spojeně hlavou. A to se mi u "Garden of Stillborn Idols" stalo vlastně pokaždé, když jsem si album pustil ve svém přehrávači. Nahrávka je velmi dobře zvukově ošetřená a motiv na obalu je bezesporu zajímavý. Povedla se ale hlavně hudba, jednotlivé motivy, nápady, deska je jako nějaký monolit, který na vás spadne a rozmáčkne vás. Jasně, člověk musí mít mysl otevřenou a alespoň nějakou dávku fantazie, ale potom, když se vše usadí, dostane se vám určitě pod kůži. Mám to takhle rád. Jen si tak sednout, poslouchat, nechat na sebe muziku působit a když se mi líbí, tak o ní sepsat pár slov. DYSSEBEIA jsou přesně tím druhem skupiny, která osloví všechny, kteří rádi přemýšlejí, objevují nové věci. Když totiž budete poslouchat pozorně a v klidu, tak i po delší době budete objevovat nová a nová zákoutí. Švýcaři jsou navíc muzikanti, kteří hrají i v dalších skvělých smečkách (STORTREGN, HYPOCRAS), takže lze novinku klidně označit vysokou známkou kvality. Za sebe vám to mohu podepsat vlastní krví. Až se zastavíte před rezavými dveřmi a v hlavě vám bude létat spousta otázek. Vezmete za kliku, ozve se děsivé skřípání a potom vás zahalí tma. Budete našlapovat opatrně a pod nohama vám budou křupat staré kosti. Slunce na konci tunelu. Jiná dimenze, místo, na kterém se hraje jenom dobrá a zajímavá hudba. Progresivní death metal protkaný zajímavými a mocnými melodiemi! Symfonie z jiného světa!

These were the thoughts that came to mind when I first heard the new debut album from Swiss maniacs DYSSEBEIA. They play death metal stained with black, with a lot of progressive passages. The music of this pack can't be classified in any clear way and that's a good thing. This is a band for all fans with a good imagination and an open mind.

I don't know if this happens to you too, but I often have strange dreams. I have them with music I like. Every time I meet a new band that I gradually grow to like, I get to sleep too. It's usually proof to me that the record has done well. I have to feel the power and energy from the songs, I have to be tapping to the beat and nodding my head in unison. And that's pretty much what happened with "Garden of Stillborn Idols" every time I put the album in my player. The recording is very well sonically treated and the motif on the cover is undoubtedly interesting. But it's mostly the music, the individual motifs, the ideas, the record is like some kind of monolith that falls on you and crushes you. Sure, you have to keep an open mind and at least some amount of imagination, but then when everything settles down, it gets under your skin for sure. I like it that way. Just sit back, listen, let the music affect me, and if I like it, write a few words about it. DYSSEBEIA are exactly the kind of band that appeals to everyone who likes to think, to discover new things. Because if you listen attentively and calmly, even after a long time you will discover new and new corners. Moreover, the Swiss are musicians who also play in other great packs (STORTREGN, HYPOCRAS), so the novelty can be safely marked with a high mark of quality. For myself, I can sign it with my own blood. When you stop in front of the rusty door, there will be a lot of questions flying around in your head.
