Kdysi dávno jsem pracoval v nemocnici a pokaždé, když vyjde nové album CANNIBAL CORPSE, tak si vzpomenu na svoje ranní cesty do práce. Dole ve sklepě bývalo otevřené okno do pitevny. Ležela tam otevřená těla a pokaždé mě přivítal divný zápach. Když jsme měli přestávku, sedávali jsme na zdi a sledovali, jak jde patologům práce od ruky. S touhle smečkou to mám poslední roky velmi podobné. Pánové vždy odvedou poctivou práci, je na ně spolehnutí.
Fanoušek dostane přesně to, co od téhle kapely chce a požaduje. Mistři brousí svůj styl k dokonalosti, ale je také pravdou, že se občas nevyhnou tomu, že se opakují. Některé motivy jsem již opravdu u nich slyšel. Zase na druhou stranu, od té doby co jim pomáhá s některými songy Eric Rutan (je podepsán i pod mixem a masteringem), tak nové nahrávky (nejen zvukově) doslova zabíjejí. Tlak, energie, krev, masakr! CANNIBAL CORPSE jsou zpět a jdou vám po krku!
Pokud se budete na novinku dívat optikou dlouholetého fanouška, tak budete nadšeni. Osobně bych měl snad jednu jedinou připomínku. Dovedl bych si představit pestřejší bicí. Je to ale jen drobnost, která mi nedokáže pokazit celkový morbidní zážitek. CANNIBAL CORPSE jsou stále brutální, nekompromisní a divocí. Máte jako vždy dvě možnosti. Buď je budete k smrti milovat a nebo se budete nudit. Myslím si, že nic mezi tím neexistuje. Pro mě osobně je asi nejdůležitější, že mě album zase nakopalo zadek. Je ostré, člověk má při poslechu chuť vyrazit ven a bouchnout pěstí do nejbližší zdi. Představte si starý dům daleko v lesích. Říká se o něm, že je v něm vstup přímo do pekla. Vstupujete pomalu dovnitř, samozřejmě za zvuků "Chaos Horrific". Na hácích jsou rozvěšené kusy shnilého masa, z klecí se na vás dívají vyděšené tváře. Krvavý horor? Ale ne, to jenom moje fantazie pracuje na plné obrátky. Je to pro mě důkaz, že se album povedlo. Nenechá mě v klidu, je někde uvnitř mé hlavy, drtí mě, pálí, kroutí moje vnitřnosti. Je vlastně úžasné, že si kapela i po tolika letech zachovala svůj vlastní výraz a stále dokáže nahrát desky, které vás doslova přikovou na zeď. Zaslouží si to obdiv! Je to vlastně jednoduché - chtěli jste CANNIBAL COPSE? Máte je mít, se vším, co k tomu patří. Nečekejte žádné změny, nebo nedej Satan progresi. A je to tak dobře, je to v nejlepším pořádku. Tohle je smrt v přímém přenosu! Krvavý flák masa, který vám hodí kapela přímo do ksichtu! Masivní death metalový útok!

A long time ago I used to work in a hospital and every time a new CANNIBAL CORPSE album comes out I remember my morning commute to work. Down in the basement, there used to be an open window to the autopsy room. There were open bodies lying there, and every time I was greeted by a strange smell. When we had a break, we'd sit on the wall and watch the pathologists go about their work. I've had a very similar experience with this pack over the years. The gentlemen always do an honest job, they can be counted on.
The fan gets exactly what he wants and demands from this band. The masters hone their style to perfection, but it's also true that they can't avoid being repetitive at times. I've actually heard some of their themes before. On the other hand, since Eric Rutan helps them with some songs (he is also signed for mixing and mastering), they literally kill new recordings (not only sonically). Pressure, energy, blood, carnage! CANNIBAL CORPSE are back and they are coming for your throat!
If you look at the news through the lens of a longtime fan, you'll be thrilled. Personally, I would have maybe one comment. I could imagine more varied drums. But it's just a small thing that can't ruin the overall morbid experience for me. CANNIBAL CORPSE are still brutal, uncompromising and ferocious. As always, you have two choices. Either you will love them to death or you will be bored. I don't think there's any in between. For me personally, I think the most important thing is that the album kicked my ass again. It's sharp, it makes you want to go out and bang your fist on the nearest wall. Imagine an old house far away in the woods. They say it's the entrance to hell. You enter slowly, of course to the sounds of "Chaos Horrific". There are pieces of rotten meat hanging from hooks, and terrified faces looking at you from cages. Bloody horror? Oh, no, that's just my imagination working at full speed. It's proof to me that the album is a success. It won't leave me alone, it's somewhere inside my head, crushing me, burning me, twisting my insides. It's actually amazing that after so many years the band has retained its own expression and can still make records that literally drive you up the wall. It deserves admiration! It's simple really - did you want CANNIBAL COPSE? You've got them, with everything that goes with it. Don't expect any changes, or Satan forbid progression. And that's just as well, it's in the best of order. This is death live! A bloody slab of meat thrown right in your face by the band! A massive death metal assault!
