Existuje jen jediná jistota. Smrt. Je jedno, čemu věříš, je jedno, jakou máš barvu očí, nakonec se všichni sejdeme před posledním soudem. Máš jenom dvě možnosti. Buď se tvoje duše bude navěky toulat v Hádově říši a nebo shoříš v pekle. Rozpadneš se postupně v prach a jediné, na co budeš jednou vzpomínat, bude hudba. Přežijí jen ti opravdoví, ti, kteří dali do svých skladeb všechno. Vzpomínáte na SORROW z New Yorku? V roce 1992 vydali skvělé album "Hatred and Disgust" a potom o nich nebylo dlouho slyšet.

Doporučuji si poslechnout jejich prvotinu a teprve potom přistoupit k nové desce "Death of Sorrow". Mnohé pravděpodobně trošku zaskočí syrový zvuk, který je jak vystřižený z devadesátých let minulého století. Pamatujete, jak jste sedávali s kamarády u hi-fi věží a neustále dokola jste otáčeli kazety? Pokud ano, tak asi víte, o čem píšu. Pokud ne, tak si alespoň představte autentický doom death metal tehdejší doby. SORROW jsou zpět, jsou stále silní a dokáží mě svými skladbami přikovat na zeď.

Myslím, že se nesluší přirovnávat kapelu takového jména a historie ke komukoliv jinému. Nejlepší bude, pokud si uděláte názor sami podle ukázek. Jinak byste totiž byli ochuzeni o první dojem, který je myslím vždy velmi důležitý. Pánové předkládají pořádnou porci starodávného doom death metalu. Skladby se valí kupředu jako špinavá řeka, která se vylije z břehů. Vše se odehrává převážně v pomalejších tempech a nakonec zůstává jenom spálená země. Vždycky si můžete vybrat cestu, kterou se vydáte a já si album neskutečně užívám. Není pro mě jen ozvěnou starých dobrých časů. Naopak, připadá mi velmi živé, s obalem (Daemorph), na který se budete dlouho dívat. Jste na něm vy, po posledním soudu? Songy jsou velmi dobře složené, mají v sobě takovou tu pradávnou sílu, kterou mám tolik rád. Venku se dávno setmělo a vypadá to, že bude bouřka. Peklo o sobě dalo zase jednou vědět. Na ulici se objevila postava v kápi. Nemá žádnou tvář a drží v rukou novou desku "Death of Sorrow". Přesně v těchto chvílích vynikne síla novinky nejvíce. Pro poslech se musíte vrátit v myšlenkách po časové ose zpátky. Američané vás vezmou na dlouhý výlet bez konce. Kolem cesty budou ležet tisíce mrtvých koster i vzpomínek. U dobrých alb musím cítit, že je kapela nahrála od srdce, že pevně věří, tomu, co hraje. Že má dobré nápady, že mě rozdrtí na prach. A SORROW tohle všechno stále umí. Mě osobně si ihned získali na svoji stranu a bylo pro mě velmi příjemné se k nahrávce stále vracet. Existuje jen jediná jistota. Smrt. Death doom metal ze starých prokletých pohřebišť!

They released a great album "Hatred and Disgust" in 1992 and then they were not heard from for a long time.

I recommend to listen to their first album and only then proceed to the new album "Death of Sorrow". Many will probably be a bit taken aback by the raw sound, which is straight out of the 90s. Do you remember sitting with your friends at the hi-fi towers and turning cassettes over and over again? If so, you probably know what I'm writing about. If not, at least imagine the authentic doom death metal of that time. SORROW are back, they are still going strong and they can nail me to the wall with their songs.

I don't think it's appropriate to compare a band of that name and history to anyone else. It's best if you make up your own opinion based on the songs. Otherwise you will be deprived of the first impression, which I think is always very important. The gentlemen present a good portion of ancient doom death metal. The songs roll forward like a dirty river pouring out of its banks. Everything happens mostly in slower tempos and in the end only scorched earth remains. You can always choose the path you take and I enjoy the album immensely. It's not just an echo of the good old days for me. On the contrary, I find it very vital, with a cover (Daemorph) that will keep you looking for a long time. Are you on it, after the last trial? The songs are very well composed, they have that ancient power that I like so much. It's long past dark outside and it looks like there's going to be a storm. Hell has made itself known once again. A hooded figure appeared in the street. He has no face and he's holding the new "Death of Sorrow" record. It's at these moments that the power of the new music comes out the most. You have to go back in your mind's time-line to listen to it. The Americans take you on a long trip without end. Thousands of dead skeletons and memories will lie around the road. With good albums, you have to feel that the band recorded it from the heart, that they firmly believe in what they are playing. That they have good ideas, that they'll crush me to dust. And SORROW can still do all that. I personally was immediately attracted to their side and it was very pleasant for me to keep coming back to the record. There is only one certainty. Death. Death doom metal from the old cursed burial grounds!
