Dokážete ovládat svůj vztek? Myslíte si že ano, jenže pokud nastane situace, kdy se z vás bude muset stát bestie, tak možná budete překvapeni. Někde uvnitř nás je ukryto zvíře. Občas vyplavou na povrch temné myšlenky. Jako utopenec. Mám rád kapely, které umí hrát technicky a progresivně a zároveň si zachovávají divokost. Kupříkladu kanadští CRYOPHILIC, s těmi jste se mohli již jednou na našich stránkách setkat. Bylo to v roce 2018, když kapela vydala album "Barbarity". Byl jsem tenkrát nadšený (odkaz na recenzi je dole pod článkem).
Letos pánové pokračují ve své morbidní práci. Opět máme co do činění s prvotřídním progresivním death metalem, který nepostrádá brutalitu, temnotu, chlad. Připadám si jako v nějakém starém poctivém sci-fi, ve kterém se pobudí stroje a pomalu ovládnou svět. CRYOPHILIC jsou také takovým perfektně seřízeným strojem na zabíjení. Stačí zapnout play a vyrvou vám všechny vnitřnosti z těla.
Je to propracovaný, perfektně zahraný masakr se spoustou zajímavých pasáží a momentů. Doporučuji poslouchat pozorně a opakovaně. Teprve až po nějakém čase vyniknou jednotlivé nuance. Pokud máte rádi kapely typu OBSCURA, SUFFOCATION, NILE, CRYPTOPSY, DEEDS OF FLESH, PYREXIA a další smečky, které umí člověka roztrhat na kusy, budete spokojeni jako já. Skladby jsou napsány s jediným účelem - totálně vás zničit, vystřelit vám mozek z hlavy. Jsem už starý pes a jako takový si moc pečlivě vybírám, jaké desky se mi líbí. Kapely si to u mě musí "odpracovat", musí mít dobrý zvuk, produkci, obal, takové ty formální věci, bez kterých to nejde a zároveň musí být něčím zajímavé. Musí se mi dostat do hlavy. Kanaďanům se to povedlo i letos. Pánové sice nepřínášejí nic nového, ale to ani není účelem. Líbí se mi drive a síla, temná nakumulovaná energie a vztek, o kterém jsem psal v úvodu dnešní recenze. Každý den ráno chodím do práce kolem staré opuštěné tovární haly. Poslouchám "Damned and Decayed" a představuji si, že se stroje právě probudily. Do práce už nedojdu. Hudba a ostré čepele mě rozsekají na malé kousky. Stejně jako tohle album. Mohu vám jej jenom doporučit. Dokážete ovládat svůj vztek? For example, Canadian CRYOPHILIC, you may have already met them once on our pages. It was in 2018, when the band released the album "Barbarity". This year, the gentlemen continue their morbid work. Once again we are dealing with top-notch progressive death metal that does not lack brutality, darkness, coldness. I feel like I'm in some old honest sci-fi, where machines wake up and slowly take over the world. CRYOPHILIC are also such a perfectly aligned killing machine. Just turn on the play and they'll rip all the guts out of your body.
It's a sophisticated, perfectly acted massacre with lots of interesting passages and moments. I recommend listening carefully and repeatedly. It is only after some time that the individual nuances become apparent. If you like bands like OBSCURA, SUFFOCATION, NILE, CRYPTOPSY, DEEDS OF FLESH, PYREXIA and other packs that can tear a man apart, you will be as satisfied as I am. The songs are written with one purpose - to totally destroy you, to blow your brains out. I'm an old dog and as such I choose very carefully what records I like. Bands have to "work for it" with me, they have to have a good sound, production, cover art, those formal things that you can't do without, and at the same time they have to be interesting in some way. They have to get into my head. The Canadians did it this year. Gentlemen do not bring anything new, but that is not the purpose. I like the drive and power, the dark accumulated energy and rage I wrote about in the introduction of today's review. Every morning I walk to work past an old abandoned factory hall. I listen to "Damned and Decayed" and imagine that the machines have just woken up. I'm not going to make it to work anymore. The music and the sharp blades will cut me to pieces.
