Až jednou pohltí temnota slunce, smrt bude velmi blízko. Konečně se splní fantazie všech starých autorů sci-fi. Zrovna jsem jednu takovou knihu dočetl. A u toho poslouchal novou desku německých SYMBIONTIC. Tahle smečka vznikla v roce 2000. Pak si dala na spoustu let pauzu (2011 - 2021), aby se vrátila silnější než dřív. Novinka "The Sun and the Darkness" je totiž po okraj narvaná velmi silnými melodiemi, totálně zničujícími bicími i vokálem bestie. Seděl jsem u okna a díval se na oblohu. Město bylo pod poklopem smogu a v oceánech se dusil život.
Poslouchal jsem velmi pozorně a byl překvapen, kolik zajímavých momentů na nahrávce je. Každý song má vlastní silný základ, na který jsou přidávány různé odbočky a nadstavby. Deska je tak velmi pestrá a originální. Stylově potom kapela volně pluje mezi melodickým a technickým death metalem.
Starodávný symbol na obalu (autorem je Simon 'Totleben' Bossert), masivní a hutný zvuk, touha ničit, trhat maso od kostí, tohle všecho pohromadě tvoří velmi chutný koktejl. "The Sun and the Darkness" je velmi inteligentně složeným albem, které donutí posluchače přemýšlet. Osobně mě nejvíc fascinuje určitý a velmi těžko popsatelný neklid, který se mi zadřel doslova pod kůži. Nejraději jsem nahrávku poslouchal doma v klidu, když město pode mnou spalo nebo brzy ráno v ulicích, když je ještě klid a chlad. Ozvěny včerejšího dne byly stále otištěny do vzpomínek. Představoval jsem si, že už je dávno po apokalypse, že už je slunce jen dohasínající hvězdou. Panika, chaos, vracíme se na začátek. Kapela v některých momentech evokuje staré dobré DEATH, samozřejmě s modernějším soundem a přístupem. Dýchá na mě chlad, ale třeba i melancholie. SYMBIONTIC jsou pro mě kapelou, o které si myslím, že by si zasloužila víc pozornosti. Takhle dobře zahraný a promyšlený metal jsem již dlouho neslyšel. Navíc má v sobě drive a sílu, temnou jiskru i neuchopitelnou energii. Jsem starý pes, který přistupuje k hudbě s pokorou. Udělejte to i vy a "The Sun and the Darkness" si poslechněte. Pokud totiž tak neučiníte, budete ochuzeni o skvělý zážitek. Až jednou pohltí temnota slunce, smrt bude velmi blízko. Konečně se splní fantazie všech starých autorů sci-fi. Všude kolem bude absolutní temnota, chlad a apokalypsa. Zůstanou jen prokletí a tahle deska. Melodické, technické death metalové album, které vás zahalí do temnoty a chladu!

When the darkness of the sun one day consumes, death will be very near. Finally, the fantasy of all the old science fiction writers will come true. I just finished one of those books. And listening to the new German SYMBIONTIC album. This pack was formed in 2000. Then they took a break for many years (2011 - 2021) to come back stronger than before. The new album "The Sun and the Darkness" is packed to the brim with very strong melodies, totally devastating drums and beast vocals. I was sitting by the window looking at the sky. The city was covered in smog and the oceans were choking with life.
I listened very carefully and was surprised at how many interesting moments there were on the record. Each song has its own strong foundation to which various digressions and build-ups are added. The record is so varied and original. Stylistically, the band freely floats between melodic and technical death metal.
The ancient symbol on the cover (by Simon 'Totleben' Bossert), the massive and dense sound, the desire to destroy, to tear flesh from the bones, all this together makes a very tasty cocktail. "The Sun and the Darkness" is a very intelligently composed album that will make the listener think. Personally, I am most fascinated by a certain and very hard to describe restlessness that literally got under my skin. My favourite way to listen to the record was at home when the city below me was asleep, or early in the morning on the streets when it was still quiet and cool. The echoes of yesterday were still imprinted on my memories. I imagined that the apocalypse was long over, that the sun was just a fading star. Panic, chaos, going back to the beginning. The band evokes good old DEATH in some moments, of course with a more modern sound and approach. There's a chill in my breath, but maybe also a melancholy. SYMBIONTIC are for me a band that I think deserves more attention. I haven't heard such well played and thought out metal in a long time. Moreover, it has drive and power, a dark spark and an elusive energy. I'm an old dog who approaches music with humility. Do you too and give "The Sun and the Darkness" a listen. Because if you don't, you'll be missing out on a great experience. Once the darkness of the sun is swallowed up, death will be very near. The fantasy of all the old science fiction writers will finally come true. There will be absolute darkness, coldness and apocalypse all around. Only the curses and this record will remain. A melodic, technical death metal album that will envelop you in darkness and cold!
