Kolem mě je absolutní tma a oheň pomalu uhasíná. Utekl jsem zase jednou daleko do lesů. V mrazu a temnotě je mi o hodně lépe, než uprostřed davu. Daleko na severu je vše ryzejší, opravdovější, čistší. Představuji si příšery ze starých legend, děsím se každého stínu, našlapuji tiše, abych nenarušil atmosféru. Snažím se splynout s věčností, přesto budu jako člověk vždy rušivým elementem. Poslouchám nové album polských black death metalistů PANDRADOR a přemýšlím, kdy konečně umrznu.

S kapelou jste se mohli setkat na našich stránkách již v roce 2020, kdy jsem psal o jejich nahrávce "Ov Rituals, ov Ancestors, ov Destiny" (odkaz je dole pod článkem). Letošní novinka je volným pokračováním věcí předchozích. Znovu se setkáte s majestátním, chladným a mocných smrtícím kovem, který je ušpiněný zmrzlou krví. Jako bych byl přímým účastníkem severských legend, o kterých kapela zpívá a hraje.

"Seiðr" je albem, který na mě opravdu působí jako nějaký pradávný rituál pro vyvolávání temných sil. Duchové našich předků znovu vstanou z hrobu, aby se pomstili za všechno zlé, co se jim za jejich života stalo. Stačí se podívat na obal, který krásně doplňuje atmosféru alba a každý fanoušek tohoto stylu bude ihned vědět, že je tu správně. Hudebně se potom jedná o podobnou záležitost, jako BEHEMOTH, HATE, BELPHEGOR a další smečky, které kombinují černou atmosféru, chlad a drtivý účinek smrtícího kovu. Po zvukové stránce je vše v podstatě dokonalé. To samé mohu napsat i o samotných skladbách. Mají jasné, zřetelné motivy, postupně gradují, jsou vybroušené k dokonalosti. Mě osobně ale chybí přeci jen o trošku více špíny, hnisu, rozkládajích se mrtvol. Chápu, kapela směřuje svoji tvorbu trošku jiným směrem, než bývám zvyklý, ale přesto, některé motivy jsou možná až moc dlouhé a stále dokola se opakují. Deska potom ztrácí na tlaku a energii. Berte ale má slova jen jako připomínku starého psa. Jinak je vše v nejlepším pořádku. Album se velmi dobře poslouchá, Poláci dokáží napsat velmi dobré motivy. Vezmou vás na výlet daleko do pustiny, kde je jenom mráz a sníh. Smrt zase jednou chodí kolem a brousí si kosu. Démoni padlých bojovníků hledají konečně klid. A do ticha zazní první riff. It is absolutely dark around me and the fire is slowly dying down. I've escaped once more far into the woods. I feel much better in the cold and dark than in the middle of a crowd. Far to the north, everything is purer, truer, cleaner. I imagine the monsters of old legends, I dread every shadow, I tread quietly so as not to disturb the atmosphere. I try to blend into eternity, yet as a human I will always be a disturbing element. I listen to the new album of Polish black death metallers PANDRADOR and wonder when I will finally freeze to death.

This year's news is a free continuation of the previous ones. Once again, you'll encounter majestic, cold and mighty death metal that's stained with frozen blood. It's like being a direct participant in the Norse legends the band sings and plays about.

"Seiðr" is an album that really strikes me as some kind of ancient ritual for summoning dark forces. The spirits of our ancestors rise again from the grave to take revenge for all the bad things that happened to them during their lifetime. One look at the cover art, which beautifully complements the atmosphere of the album, and any fan of this style will know immediately that they're in the right place. Musically then, this is a similar affair to BEHEMOTH, HATE, BELPHEGOR and other packs that combine black atmosphere, coldness and the crushing effect of death metal. Sound-wise, everything is basically perfect. I can write the same about the songs themselves. They have clear, distinct themes, they gradually graduate, they are polished to perfection. But I personally miss a little more dirt, pus, decomposing corpses. I understand the band is taking their work in a slightly different direction than I'm used to, but still, some of the motifs are perhaps too long and repetitive. The album then loses pressure and energy. But take my words only as a reminder of the old dog. Otherwise everything is in the best order. The album is very easy to listen to, Poles can write very good motives. They take you on a trip far into the wilderness, where there is only frost and snow. Death walks around once again and sharpens his scythe. The demons of the fallen warriors seek peace at last. And into the silence comes the first riff. I think "Seiðr" was a real success. It's completely dark around me and the fire is slowly dying. I've escaped far into the woods once more. I feel much better in the cold and dark than in the middle of a crowd. Far to the north, everything is purer, truer, cleaner. Just like this record. A freezing, majestic, ritualistic death metal album that is full of evil phantoms from the north!
