K nástrojům usedá parta démonů. Bez tváří, bez těla. Jenom mlhavé představy. Spiritistická seance může začít. Zapalte svíce a vyberte hudbu, které je pro tento okamžik vhodná. Dnes volím novinku maniaků VOIDCEREMONY z Kalifornie. Nejdříve kolem mě plyne jako špinavá řeka, plná utopenců. Pomalu, až po nějakém čase, se zakousne do mé mysli a způsobí v ní zmatek. Ten se postupně rozplyne a na povrch vyniknou skvělé progresivní nápady. Základem je sice klasický kov smrti, ale přidávány jsou i technické prvky.
Činěno je tak velmi zkušeně, s divokou jiskrou v oku. Songy se mi zadírají pod kůži a ruce máme sepnuté v kruhu. Existuje jiná dimenze? Jiné vědomí? Duše zemřelých? Myslím si, že při poslechu "Threads Of Unknowing" nad tím budete přemýšlet. Mraky budou nízko a mráz obejme vaše kosti i vědomí.
VOIDCEREMONY lze stylově považovat za kolegy takových smeček jako DEMILICH, BLOOD INCANTATION, GRAVE MIASMA, DEAD CONGREGATION, ASCENDED DEAD, RITUAL NECROMANCY. Jen na povrch více vylézají jazzové vlivy. Záleží jen na vás, zda se vám podobná hudba líbí nebo ne. Dovedu pochopit, pokud na někoho bude nová deska příliš složitá a odmítne ji. Na druhou stranu si ale myslím, že by to byla trošku škoda. Skladby jsou totiž velmi dobře napsány, mají čitelný a řezající zvuk a když jim dáte čas, tak se opravdu promění v ostré hroty hřebů, které vám jednou zatlučou do rakve. Z novinky je navíc cítit nadšení, talent a odhodlání zničit vás hudbou. Zajímavé riffy, mocný vokál, pestré a úderné bicí. Osobně sice patřím ke generaci starších fanoušků, ale přesto si nahrávku neskutečně užívám. Líbí se mi, jak mě dokáže spálit, nakopat mi zadek. Zároveň u ní mohu přemýšlet, rozplétat jednotlivé motivy. Zkrátka a jednoduše, tentokrát platí víc než kdy jindy, že je lepší poslouchat, než o desce psát. Nechte na sebe album působit, dávejte si ho do hlavy v různých náladách a uvidíte, že se stane po čase i vaší součástí. K nástrojům usedá parta démonů. Bez tváří, bez těla. Jenom mlhavé představy. Today I choose the new music of the maniacs VOIDCEREMONY from California. At first it flows past me like a dirty river, full of drowning men. Slowly, after some time, it bites into my mind and wreaks havoc. Gradually it dissolves and great progressive ideas come to the surface. The basis is the classic death metal, but technical elements are added as well.
It's done so very expertly, with a wild sparkle in the eye. The songs get under my skin and our hands are clasped in a circle. Is there another dimension? Another consciousness? The souls of the dead? I think you'll find yourself wondering about that as you listen to "Threads Of Unknowing". The clouds will be low and the frost will envelop your bones and your consciousness.
VOIDCEREMONY can be stylistically considered as colleagues of such packs as DEMILICH, BLOOD INCANTATION, GRAVE MIASMA, DEAD CONGREGATION, ASCENDED DEAD, RITUAL NECROMANCY. Only jazz influences come out more. It's up to you whether you like this kind of music or not. I can understand if someone finds a new album too difficult and rejects it. On the other hand, I think it would be a bit of a shame. The songs are actually very well written, have a clear and cutting sound, and if you give them time they really turn into sharp spikes of nails that will one day hammer into your coffin. What's more, you can feel the enthusiasm, talent and determination to destroy you with the music. Interesting riffs, powerful vocals, colourful and punchy drums. Personally, I'm part of the older generation of fans, but I still enjoy the record immensely. I love how it can burn me out, kick my ass. At the same time, I can think about it, unravel the different motifs. In short, this time more than ever, it's better to listen than to write about a record. Let the album affect you, put it in your head in different moods and you will see that it will become a part of you after a while. A bunch of demons sit down at the instruments. No faces, no bodies.
