Tělo jsme připravili již včera. Stačí zatlouct posledních pár hřebů a bude vše hotovo. V márnici je chlad a klid. Najednou uslyším podivný šepot. Ucítím mráz v zádech, jakoby na mě šáhla samotná Smrt. Jsem tu správně. Mezi nemrtvými. Vylézají z rakví a chtějí po mě nějakou hudbu, na kterou by mohli tančit. Kývám souhlasně hlavou a z otevřených ran mi vytéká zkažená krev. Měl bych tu pro vás jednu novinku. Pravý nefalšovaný švédský smrtící kov. Zahraný od srdce, upřímně a opravdově.
Jak by taky ne, když jsou pod skladbami podepsání pánové ze staré školy. Zmiňme jména jako MR. DEATH, TREBLINKA, TIAMAT, SEPTIC GRAVE, GRAND CADAVER a spousta dalších. Ano, sešla se tu parta starých psů, aby nám ukázala, jak se to má dělat. Myslím, že dodávat nic nemusím. Tohle je nářez přesně podle mého gusta!
THE GRIFTED čerpají ze starých archívů a dělají to s elegancí a nadšením mistrů v oboru. Pokud máte rádi kapely jako ENTOMBED, ENTRAILS, PAGANIZER, UNLEASHED, myslím, že budete spokojeni jako já. Smrt si dává rande se Satanem a vy si můžete podupávat do rytmu. Tohle je hudba z opuštěných márnic, z plesnivých katakomb, z čerstvě otevřených hrobů. Album má velmi dobře ošetřený zvuk a obal mi připomíná obrazy, které vidím každý den cestou do práce. Temnota a chlad, špína a černá energie. Tohle všechno zde najdete. Songy jsou velmi dobře napsány, mají v sobě drive a sílu, takový ten pradávný feeling, který se podle mě nedá naučit. Musíte jej mít v sobě. Musíte strávit dlouhé noci s mrtvými těly, tančit se zombiemi, křičet do tmy. "Doomsday & Salvation" je nahrávkou, která mě rozsekala na malé kousky. Je pro mě vzpomínkou na mé metalové začátky. Je pro mě muzikou, která koluje i v mých žilách. V ulicích je možné už nějakou dobu potkat těla bez duše. Mrtvé obličeje, stíny, které touží po krvi. Už nastal čas. Beru do rukou kladivo a drtím staré kosti. Mlátím do rytmu a víka od rakví pukají. Riffy ostré jako břitva, ďábelský rytmus, krvavý pohled. Podávám ruce nemrtvým a tančíme na vlastních hrobech. Tohle album se povedlo po všech stránkách a nemělo by chybět ve sbírce žádného opravdového fanouška. Tady se chřestí pytlem plným kostí. Chladný, temný death metal ukovaný z té nejkvalitnější švédské oceli!

We prepared the body yesterday. Just hammer in the last few nails and you'll be all set. The morgue is cold and quiet. Suddenly I hear a strange whisper. I feel a chill down my spine, as if Death himself is touching me. I'm right here. Among the undead. They're coming out of their coffins, asking me for some music to dance to. I nod my head in agreement, and my open wounds ooze wicked blood. I have some news for you. Genuine unadulterated Swedish death metal. Played from the heart, sincere and real.
And how could it not be, with old-school gentlemen signing the songs. Let's mention names like MR. DEATH, TREBLINKA, TIAMAT, SEPTIC GRAVE, GRAND CADAVER and many more. Yes, a bunch of old dogs got together to show us how it's done. I don't think I need to add anything. This is a blast just the way I like it!
THE GRIFTED draws from old archives and does it with the elegance and enthusiasm of masters in the field. If you like bands like ENTOMBED, ENTRAILS, PAGANIZER, UNLEASHED, I think you'll be as pleased as I am. Death has a date with Satan and you can stomp to the beat. This is music from abandoned morgues, from moldy catacombs, from freshly opened graves. The album has a very well treated sound and the cover reminds me of the images I see every day on my way to work. Darkness and cold, dirt and black energy. You'll find it all here. The songs are very well written, they have drive and power, that ancient feeling that I think can't be taught. You have to have it in you. You have to spend long nights with dead bodies, dancing with zombies, screaming in the dark. "Doomsday & Salvation" is the record that cut me to pieces. It's a memory of my metal beginnings. It's music that runs through my veins. It's been possible to find soulless bodies in the streets for a while now. Dead faces, shadows that yearn for blood. The time has come. I pick up the hammer and crush the old bones. I beat to the rhythm and the coffin lids crack. Razor-sharp riffs, devilish rhythm, bloody sight. I shake hands with the undead and we dance on our own graves. This album has succeeded in every aspect and should not be missing in any true fan's collection. Here, it rattles a bag full of bones. Cold, dark death metal forged from the finest Swedish steel!
