Společnost se dostala na rozcestí. Ulicemi se toulají hordy toužící po krvi. Systém kolabuje. Chudí versus bohatí, smrt číhá na každém rohu. Už jsme si chvilku mysleli, že bude dobře. Jenže lidská mysl je temná a ošklivá. Procházím mezi opuštěnými budovami, cítím vztek. Apokalypsa dávno nastala. Uvnitř nás samých, v našich pokřivených mozcích.
SARKASM se vrátili a udělali to s elegancí a s grácií starých mistrů. S nadšením, odhodláním opět zabíjet hudbou. Death metal a thrash v krystalické podobě, v jaké se hrála v devadesátých letech minulého století. Přiznávám, příliš toho od podobných návratů neočekávám, ale Kanaďané mi vymáchali obličej v kaluži plné krve.
SARKASM vzešli ze stejných katakomb, jako kapely typu GORGUTS, OBLIVEON, DEATH, PESTILENCE, ABSORBED. V letech 1990 - 1992 nahráli čtyři demonahrávky, které byly v roce 2012 znovu vydány na kompilaci. Letos následuje po velmi dlouhé době návrat. A musím napsat, že se povedl. Pánové si dali záležet jak na formálních věcech (zvuk Dan Swanö v Unisound Studios), tak na celkovém provedení (obal je opravdu krásně temný a depresivní). Skvělý je i Luc Lemay z GORGUTS, který pomohl s vokály. Pro mě jsou ale nejdůležitější nápady, kterých je na nahrávce velké množství. Staří psi nám nakopali zadky! A udělali to způsobem, který se mi velmi zamlouvá. Zachovali si svůj rukopis a zároveň dokázali do songů narvat velké množství tlaku a energie. Připadám si, že se opravdu procházím opuštěnými ulicemi zničeného města. Jsme na dobré cestě se navzájem zničit. Existuje už jenom málo jistot v dnešním zkaženém světě. Hudba je jednou z nich. Je pro mě hrozně příjemné se k desce vracet, poslouchat ji stále dokola, přidávat hlasitost. Podupávám si nohou do rytmu, křičím texty. "As Empires Decay" mi pomohlo roztrhnout imaginární řetězy, kterými je každý z nás v současnosti svázaný. SARKASM se vrátili ve velkém stylu. Masakr! Smečka rozzuřených death thrashových psů, kteří vás roztrhají na kusy!

For a while there, we thought we were gonna be okay. But the human mind is dark and ugly. I walk among the abandoned buildings, I feel anger. The apocalypse is long overdue. Inside ourselves, in our twisted brains.
SARKASM came back and did it with the elegance and grace of the old masters. With enthusiasm, and determination to kill again with music. Death metal and thrash in the crystalline form it was played in the 90s. I admit I don't expect much from such comebacks, but the Canadians washed my face in a pool of blood.
SARKASM emerged from the same catacombs as bands like GORGUTS, OBLIVEON, DEATH, PESTILENCE, ABSORBED. They recorded four demos between 1990 and 1992, which were re-released on the compilation in 2012. This year follows a return after a very long time. And I have to write that it was a success. The gentlemen have taken care of both formal things (Dan Swanö's sound at Unisound Studios) and the overall performance (the cover is really beautifully dark and depressing). Luc Lemay from GORGUTS is also great and helped with the vocals. But for me, the most important thing is the ideas, which are in abundance on the record. The old dogs kicked our asses! And they did it in a way that I like. They kept their signature sound while still being able to put a lot of pressure and energy into the songs. I feel like I'm walking through the deserted streets of a ruined city. We're well on our way to destroying each other. There are few certainties left in today's corrupt world. Music is one of them. I find it satisfying to go back to a record, listen to it over and over, and turn the volume up. tapping my foot to the beat, shouting the lyrics. "As Empires Decay" helped me to break the imaginary chains by which each of us is currently bound. SARKASM is back in style. Massacre! A pack of rabid death thrash dogs that will tear you apart!
