Jednou z nás zbydou jen ohlodané kosti. Lebky bez očí, tělo bez duše. Červi sežerou naše maso a shnijeme. Pomalu a jistě. Přejdeme na druhou stranu, do země nekonečných stínů. A nebo také ne. Možná shoříme v pekle. Jedno vím ale jistě. I v Hádově říši budu poslouchat novou desku britských (kanadských) CRONENBERG. Stane se ze mě zombie a přijdu se všem pomstít!
"Grandiose Throne of Grotesque Flesh" je krásně morbidním death metalovým hororem. Všichni na tomto albu touží po krvi a sérioví vrazi opět dosáhli blahořečení. Už od začátku mě pohltila podmanivá, temná a chladná atmosféra. Je na čase vyhrabat další mrtvolu. Třeba ale stačí jen přidat hlasitost a vyleze z hrobu sama.
Jediným členem kapely, který je podepsán jak pod hudbou, i texty je maniak Grandmaster Flush. Jedná se o muzikanta, kterému se jinak říká Pope Richard (Richard Alan Weeks). Pokud si projedete databázi kapel a projektů, ve kterých působil a působí, asi vám bude zcela jasné, že se můžete spolehnout na skvělý zvuk i celkové provedení. V případě CRONENBERG to platí na sto procent. "Grandiose Throne of Grotesque Flesh" není ale povedeným albem jen, co se týká formálních věcí. Osobně mě nejvíc zaujaly nápady a již zmiňované děsivé a temné nálady, kterých je ve skladbách velké množství. Opravdu si připadám, že sedím na hřbitově. Nikdo tu není, jenom mlha, vítr a strach. Jakmile se setmí, tak se začnou z márnice ozývat podivné zvuky. Už to nebude dlouho trvat. Našlapuji do rytmu, užívám si jednotlivé riffy, chorobami nasáklý vokál, pach smrti. Někde tady by měl ležet. Kousek od zdi, hrob beze jména. Hnije v něm prokletá bestie, která se tento večer probudí. Cítím to v kostech a moc dobře vím, že budu její další obětí. Tady se totiž hraje reálný, doomem nasáklý smrtící kov velmi vysoké kvality. Pro nás, staré fanoušky opravdové smrti rozhodně. Tahle nahrávka vám prokousne hrdlo a pohřbí zaživa. Děsivý, krvavý death metalový horor!

"Grandiose Throne of Grotesque Flesh" is a beautifully morbid death metal horror. Everyone on this album is out for blood and the serial killers have once again achieved bliss. From the very beginning I was engulfed by the captivating, dark and cold atmosphere. Time to dig up another corpse. But maybe just turn up the volume and it will come out of the grave on its own.
The only member of the band who is signed for both music and lyrics is the maniac Grandmaster Flush. He is a musician otherwise known as Pope Richard (Richard Alan Weeks). If you check the database of bands and projects he has been in and is involved with, it will probably be quite clear that you can count on a great sound and overall performance. In the case of CRONENBERG this is 100% true. But "Grandiose Throne of Grotesque Flesh" is not only a successful album as far as formal things are concerned. Personally, I was most impressed by the ideas and the aforementioned eerie and dark moods that abound in the songs. I really feel like I'm sitting in a graveyard. There is no one here, just fog, wind and fear. As soon as it gets dark, strange noises start coming from the morgue. It won't be long now. I stomp to the beat, enjoying the riffs, the disease-soaked vocals, the smell of death. He should be lying here somewhere. Not far from the wall, a grave without a name. Rotting in it is a cursed beast that will awaken tonight. I can feel it in my bones, and I know full well I'll be its next victim. This is real, doom-soaked death metal of a very high quality. For us old fans of real death, definitely. This record will bite your throat and bury you alive. Horrifying, bloody death metal horror!
