Někdy se mi zdá o tom, že se dusím. Daleko za městem, v močálech, ze kterých není návratu. Všude kolem je mlha, chlad a nekonečná tma. Těla jsou již ve značném stádiu rozkladu a studené pohledy utopenců mě doslova děsí. Probudím se a začnu se znovu topit. Stahován do temnoty, poslouchám prvotinu australských ASHEN.

Jedná se o novou kapelu, založenou v roce 2020 a nutno rovnou napsat, že již při prvních setkáních s deskou "Ritual of Ash" jsem věděl, že ji budu poslouchat a určitě ji podpořím. Je totiž po okraj narvaná zajímavými motivy, je neklidná a syrová zároveň. Koneckonců, posuďte sami.

Pokud budete poslouchat pečlivě, určitě budete vědět, kým se pánové inspirovali. Ano, zazní odkazy na MORBID ANGEL, MONSTROSITY, BRUTALITY, DISMEMBER, WOMBBATH, ENTOMBED. Kapela se ale nesnaží jenom zahrát to, co zde už bylo. Naopak, přidává modernější zvuk, spoustu vlastních nápadů a zajímavých pasáží. Kombinují sice švédský a americký smrtící kov, ale po svém, originálně. "Ritual of Ash" se velmi dobře poslouchá, člověk má pocit, že se k nahrávce musí neustále vracet. Má v sobě totiž něco magického, zkaženou krev, chlad, chcete-li. Líbí se mi i zvuk (Marko Tervonen - Mixing, Mastering) který je masivní a hutný a nepostrádá potřebnou ostrost. Vše potom krásně doplňuje obal (Remedy Art), který je zajímavý a temný, jako zkažená duše. Australanům se povedlo nahrát album, které se vám zadře pod kůži. Připomíná mi ostré hřeby, které vám budou postupně zatloukat do mozku. Mám chuť skočit rovnou do mosh-pitu, připadám si jako na setkání se smečkou rozzuřených prašivých psů. Je jen otázkou, kdy mi některý z nich prokousne hrdlo. "Ritual of Ash" je pro mě návykové! Někdy se mi zdá o tom, že se dusím. Daleko za městem, v močálech, ze kterých není návratu. Všude kolem je mlha, chlad a nekonečná tma. Jsem tu správně. Jenom já a démoni ASHEN. Monstrózní, masivní death metalový masakr!

This is a new band, founded in 2020 and it must be written straight away that already at the first encounters with the album "Ritual of Ash" I knew that I would listen to it and definitely support it. It is packed to the brim with interesting themes, it is restless and raw at the same time. After all, judge for yourself.

If you listen carefully, you will know who the gentlemen were inspired by. Yes, there are references to MORBID ANGEL, MONSTROSITY, BRUTALITY, DISMEMBER, WOMBBATH, ENTOMBED. But the band is not just trying to play what has already been there. On the contrary, it adds a more modern sound, a lot of its own ideas and interesting passages. They combine Swedish and American death metal, but in their own, original way. "Ritual of Ash" is very easy to listen to, one has the feeling that one has to keep coming back to the record. It has something magical in it, corrupted blood, coldness, if you like. I also like the sound (Marko Tervonen - Mixing, Mastering) which is massive and dense and does not lack the necessary sharpness. Everything is then beautifully complemented by the cover art (Remedy Art) which is interesting and dark, like a corrupted soul. The Australians have managed to record an album that gets under your skin. It reminds me of sharp spikes that will gradually hammer into your brain. I feel like jumping straight into a mosh-pit, like meeting a pack of angry mangy dogs. It's only a matter of time before one of them bites through my throat. "Ritual of Ash" is addictive to me! Sometimes I dream about choking. Far outside the city, in the swamps of no return. All around is fog, cold and endless darkness. I'm right here. Just me and the demons of ASHEN. A monstrous, massive death metal massacre!
